Perhaps a Wavebird with a rumble pak option? That'd really boost sales, I bet. I know I'd buy one.

Sephfire, could you update the first post sometime soon? I was hoping to vote on all the recent stuff that I missed and the things that are still too close to call, but it's really hard to find all the rounds in one convenient place. That being said, here are a few votes: Elite Beat Agents (DS): yes. As the best (and only) rhythm game available for the DS in America, EBA succeeds mostly because of its difficulty and extreme depth. Although the spinny things are really annoying and not very commute-friendly, the overall gameplay shines. The music is not perfect, but it's pretty good. I swear, some of the redone songs in EBA are better than the orginals (I'm looking at you, Ashlee Simpson and Avril Lavigne). I enjoy it as one of my top three DS games. Brain Age (DS): I think this is a must-play game, but it's not a must-own game, so no. It's a new and innovative idea that is cool for awhile, but it lacks the depth required for me to keep playing it. Same for Big Brain Academy. Animal Crossing (GCN): Normally I'd say yes, but I'm going to say no because the DS version outshines it. The Wi-Fi compatibility and stylus make it much more convenient and efficient to use. It's a good game, but you'd be missing nothing by buying the DS version instead.

This is my preference for the correct balance of new material to old; the original is used frequently, but is embellished significantly. Then, a solo is added near the end based on the chord progression. This blend encourages nostalgia while also creating a new style for the music that increases my appreciation for the original. I have no issue with the samples used or FLSlayer in this case because they helped create this song's style as a close interpretation of the source material. The synths sound like they were taken straight from 1993 SNES sound effects, which is probably what the arranger was going for. If every remix of yours is going to sound like this, please feel free to make about 50 more of them.

I have a pink one that was given to me for free I plan on buying one of those skins for $10 to cover it up, and I might also buy a replacement stylus, GBA cover or even battery cover to make it more dual-toned and less blatantly FABULOUS!!

Support local biz-nitches. Buy from USA Capcom so they send more games to the states. I understand the urge to get it early, but you can handle it.

So I suppose it's probably a pretty bad sign that Nintendo is delaying the release of information that may or may not reveal a delayed release date for the game. I'm totally excited for this game (and the Web site), but this is kind of ridiculous.

I haven't played all of these, but here's my thoughts on the ones I have: Advance Wars DS: Admittedly, the multiplayer is tedious, but the single player is great. Again, best AW yet, and the series as a whole deserves a yes. It may not be my favorite game, but I couldn't put it down during the first play through. YES! F-Zero GX: I'm going to say no for one important reason. If you don't like REALLY hard games or if you get easily frustrated at video games (if you have broken controllers before), you should not play this game. It may frustrate you to the point where you kick a hole in your TV, sever your leg on the broken glass, and spend a week in the hospital, so I'd say it's just not worth it. Either that, or you'll give up forever after three hours. Great game for some, waste of time/money for others.

I'm looking at this as part of a bigger picture, here. The Internet, in general, has started to replace print forms of media, especially among younger generations (I.E. those who play video games). However, I think there will always be a place for magazines, and NP needs to figure those reasons out ASAP. Magazines, newspapers and the like are meant for giving in-depth news, not breaking news. For example, I shouldn't expect NP to be the first to tell me when Super Smash Brothers Brawl comes out, but it should specialize in telling me things like game mechanics and what was implemented in the time of delay. I think NP just needs to consider themselves more as a print media that tells readers more about fine details of Nintendo products that can't be found elsewhere.

I was in the exact same situation. I don't think it's worth $50. You could rent it, beat it on easy mode, then try normal mode until you get stuck (in the same place probably, lol), and you'll probably have played it enough. Or you could buy it after the price drops to $30 or less.

My advice would be to accept everything but the bad class, then focus on trying to actually complete the work in just one class. The lighter workload would make it easier to complete, and you'd be surprised how much accomplishing something this semester will help your psyche, even if it's just one class. Oh, and Arek, stop watching the media. If you want to know more, read AP stories in newspapers or something, but for God's sake, quit watching TV! Those guys are idiots trying to fill 24 hours of news for ratings. Oh yeah, and you should still watch "Bang Bang You're Dead."
-
True. I'm just saying that things like this can help put things into perspective. Mainly, the perspective of "shit happens." Shit happens to good people all the time, and there's really not much we can do about it, yet we still shouldn't freak out and live anxiously as BigBoss has mentioned. It also helps us realize things like, "I guess today could've been worse, and maybe my life isn't so bad afterall."
-
You should care because you are a human being. Those who died were also human beings. Although it may not have directly affected you, it affected many people who may be just like you. As stated previously, this sort of thing could have happened anywhere, and just because it didn't happen to you or anyone you know doesn't mean that it never will or never could have.

To Arek and others who feel especially connected to this tragedy: Go see the movie "Bang Bang You're Dead." It was a made-for-TV movie based on school shootings in high schools, and it seriously can be really helpful and insightful into situations like this. Quick summary: A high schooler who was suspended for a year for calling in a bomb threat is cast as a gunman in the play "Bang Bang You're Dead" by a young, helpful drama teacher. The movie examines his struggles before and after the suspension, as well as the city's uproar over showing the play in the school. Highly highly recommended.

To make this fun last a bit longer, we should decide/vote on awards. Some possible categories include: Most pwnd. Guy who switched sides after he got the joke. Best review. Best instigator. Best at pretending to be pissed. Best at pretending it was awesome. Biggest killjoy. Etc.

Mario & Sonic together in an Olympic Games title!!

This made me LOL: Taken from Nintendo's Web site... (original article here) I'm no physics major, but I'm pretty sure we figured out the answer to this one a long time ago... -
Actually, I've heard that the game ISN'T on store shelves at electronic stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.). Because the game comes with a Wiimote, the box is huge. Because the box is huge, it doesn't fit into the security cases they have for the games to prevent theft. Therefore, the game is held in the back rooms and you have to ask an associate for the game, and they deliver it from the back. I don't know if you've been asking a lot of questions or just looking for it, but that may be your problem.

Any cheapasses? Better get to a Best Buy asap...

After visiting two stores in Columbus, Ohio area, I scored: FFIV for $10, then I had a "$5 off any GBA Game" coupon from GamePro, so it was $5. SRS for $2 - going to my ex roommate Day of Reckoning 2 for $2 I'm going back with my "$5 off any GCN Game" Coupon to pick up From Russia With Love for originally $10. I'll consider it a success because I grabbed the last copy of FFIV that's been sitting there all lonely for about a month. -

Well, it's a little bit of a mystery whether we'll be able to price match or not. The reason for this sale is a clearance on games they no longer get shipments of, yet it is labeled as a "permanent mark down." Best Buy's customer service section says: Therefore, they have a way out if they decide that they are losing way too much money on it. Also, many speculate that the marked-down items were pulled from the shelves this weekend (based on the sudden lack of quantity of these games before the deal broke to the public), and they will probably have some sort of "clearance bin" in the front with all of these games on Monday. In conclusion, buying the games this weekend to price match on Monday might not work because of technicalities and lack of supply. EDIT: DOUBLE POST Actually, I don't think it's on clearance. Mega Man X Collection is, but not the original Anniversary Collection. (I know, I'm bummed, too.) I actually haven't seen the MMAC at my Best Buy in about six months, so I wasn't really counting on it anyway. -

This is definitely a sweet deal. A game could be terrible, but it may be worth it for $2, as long as I have fun with it for about three hours. I could spend $2 in an arcade in five minutes! Unfortunately, I doubt that I'll be able to find much at either of my two local Best Buys, but finding just one game on my wish-list will be a huge success. Happy hunting, everyone! -
Oops, I failed on (A) and (. I definitely noticed a loss in battery life.

I haven't played it, but I hear the co-op mode in Pikmin 2 is pretty good. Also, I second the suggestion of X-Men Legends (1 or 2).

On NES, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game was leaps and bounds better than its predecessor. For more information, go .

Elite Beat Agents is a music/rhythm game (in the same genre as Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero). The player clicks the stylus on "beats" that pop up in sequences across the screen. If you still want to try it before you buy it, most EB games/GameStop or similar video game stores have demos available in-store. I would also highly recommend it as what may be my favorite DS game.
-
Agreed. There seems to be a lot of evidence that the folks behind the game tried really hard to this the best it could be (story line, multiple paths, selectable characters, etc.), but the gameplay is just flawed. The best description I can give you is this: Remember the Fortuna, etc. levels of Star Fox 64 where you're in all-range mode shooting down hordes of enemies flying around the map? Although this is fun sometimes, unfortunately this is the entire game of Star Fox Command. There are no stages where your ship flies along a rail going through a world shooting as many things as possible that get in your way. I really like(d) the Star Fox series, but I don't plan on buying another one until I'm sure that it meets the quality of the 64 version.

OK OK, I'm sorry about the Majora's Mask comment. What I really meant was simply that it was over-hyped, not over-rated. Everyone was expecting "Ocarina of Time 2," which it wasn't. I agree that it is under appreciated, but Nintendo didn't do a good enough job warning people that the Zelda franchise had gone (if only for a moment) in an entirely different direction. MM is great for some, but not everyone. DKR, however, left me with a very nasty taste in my mouth. I was expecting it to be like Mario Kart with a story mode, but the game play was shallow and the multiplayer left lots to be desired. Granted, I automatically compare it to Mario Kart 64, which is the best multiplayer racing game on N64. It's not fair to hold that comparison, so the game is probably much better than I'm willing to admit. Anyway, back on topic. Clubhouse Games is entirely too much fun considering it is a compilation of games that bored me as a kid. I highly recommend it for anyone who has a DS, especially the "new" DS gamers who aren't used to video games.
