I agree. I think iTunes is sweet, always smooth for me and the different views and organization is just tops, but maybe it's just because I'm used to it. Somethings LACKING on OS X is a good PSX emulator pretty much. Since I don't really care to emu systems I own and can easily get games for I don't mind but I can see loads of people minding. Fishy did for example Let me just say that FreeMacWare.com is your friend. Now they changed the owner and he's not as good but still!
  2. Yet another thing, no emulator link is working (I tried everyone at Commodore 64), all I get is: "Fatal error: Call to undefined function printemuxml() in /home/ocremix/public_html/emulator.php on line 45"

I've been a mac user for years, I do everything on my MacBook Pro and I've gotten so used to it that I can't handle a PC ;P
  4. Even more reason for me to start working, awesome.
  5. I'm on it. Also, while you're reading, can you send me a spreadsheet where I can help provide composer info that you're missing? I talked to Dave about this and I had a few things (mostly website adresses) that you did not have for a few composers. It'll probably be easier for you to implement if you have a spreadsheet.
  6. I've been slacking off, I know. But I have found a new track to arrange. Bust-A-Move 4 (GBC) - Title / Menu / Round Select. Hell yeah. It's just the coolest track ever made. I'm not even kidding. It's constantly on repeat here.
  7. This is perhaps even more awesome than the composer profiles. I like how you added 'Emulators' as a tab too, being true to the emu community. Very informative, nice work. Now if only remixer profiles would be as educational :3
  8. Definitely an improvement. The screenshot for 'latest mix' makes it easier to put together composer and game. Also using the icons for website/mobygames and whatnot makes sense since it looks more like remixers. BTW, what determines if a remixer profile has a pic or not? I think the more remixer profiles look like composer profiles, the better.
  9. I thought we were talking about soundtracks in general, my fault for not reading the first blog post. In the words of Monty Python: GET ON WITH IT!
  10. ..I didn't review this? This is one of my favorites on OCR actually. Ilari is both an amazing instrumentalist and superb arranger. His style is quite unique, using elements from older progressive rock and coupling with a distinct live jazz setup. This arrangement is wonderful, the melody is kept pretty much intact but the general feel is completely altered. The different riffs complement eachother in a great way, playing with the polyrhythmic structure of the original song. Did I mention I love the choice of instruments? Great! The mixing is, in my humble opinion, amazing. Everything sounds organic and "live". While it might not be the perfect mixing if you look at how the modern record sounds it's certainly very unique, enjoyable and almost vintage. Reminds me of a lot of old recordings with bands like Zeppelin where they used some unorthodox mixing with great success. Everyone should listen to this. It's a great piece all around and brings some very unique style to OCR. ilp0 man, MAJOR props.
  11. Wow, I'm glad I refreshed the front page one last time before I went to bed. Great singing, sweet groove, nice choice of sounds and all around good song. I did find the drums a bit strangely mixed, the snare sounded hollow but it wasn't that annoying. When the open hi-hat enters though, the drum kit gets a tad too much. The filtered drums was a nice touch and worked great with the piano, taking it into a more "ska" feeling was a pretty nice move too. I loved the organ licks and I adored your girlfriends announcer voice, that's creativity right there! The arrangement is well written and everything seems like it belongs in the track, the only thing I can think of is that the production sometimes feels a bit thin but it isn't really a big problem when it comes to this style. This is one smooth remix, recommended.
  12. OCRemix, and especially Voices of the Lifestream, has given me faith in my skill as a musician/producer. After 3 years of studying music and everyone surpassing me in skill as an instrumentalist I'd pretty much given up on music. Then, partially because of OCR, I got myself a computer and started making music with it. Here I am now and I love it. Thanks to OCR exposing me to great music over the years I've got a chance to expose my music to the audience I respect the most. Thanks to OCR I feel confident enough to pursue a career in the video game audio or general music industry. Thanks to OCR I've made contacts and projects that will matter when I eventually get there. Thanks to OCR I'm incredibly happy with my life and how it is progressing at the moment. So yeah, much MUCH love. I hope that I will somehow be able to pay that back.
  13. Just thought it might be appropriate to disable some of the font customization code in the review forum. Since we want to keep it clean (the sigs are gone and I love it) it might be another step to keep it that way. It hasn't really been a problem now, I just thought about it when I saw a review on Suco de Melancia. Think about it. Does this only happen when your latest post is the first post on a new page? That happens to me too and I think it's because you didn't visit the new page in the thread in some way.. Though I have a similar issue. Sometimes when I've replied to a bunch of threads I've been subscribed too and do something else for a minute and then refresh my User CP, they're all back as unread even though there's no new posts. I have no idea what's causing this but I figure it could be my internet configurations.. too bad I suck at those
  14. Now THERE's an idea. Or, if it's too messy in the sig, on the remixer/forum profile.
  15. So true. Hojo's da man. I love that he wears his labcoat on the beach :3 anyway, back on topic, great remix go go go
  16. Caio always makes enjoyable music. This is no exception. Great production, great vibe and clever arrangement makes this a keeper. It keeps true to the original but in a way that enhances the feel of the orignal track, Costa del Sol. The electric piano soloing is amazing and the overall performance is very good. Sure, this track doesn't really go places no track has gone before but it's a groovy, clean track that's great for relaxing. Sweet.
  17. This is great, I really appreciate how easy it has become to get info from OCR. Hopefully this will also make the site more accessible and interesting to first time users when exploring arrangements, instead of just pushing 'f' for 'Final Fantasy' This might open peoples eyes to new composers when they see what companies/games they've been involved in.
  18. I'm a bit late for the party, I just came to tell you that man.. I love this song. It's the perfect cheesy yet energetic love song ever. Kudos for bringing general college rock to OCR but without the things that makes general college rock bad The mixing is not the best around but the general feel and the concept of the track makes up for that, big time. Great stuff
  19. I wasn't even there but I still enjoy the massive fanservice that is q-pa's set much love
  20. I like Soul Calibur AND fanservice. I'm happy :3
