  1. At first I avoided this thread untill I finished the game. Then I started typing but didn't bother to finish and post my rant, but now I kinda feel like saying a few things. First off; I am wussy >_> I don't like creepy stuff, never liked creepy stuff and never will. Playing Ocarina of Time almost gave me non-stop chills (not the nice ones n_n; )and I don't like that feeling...especially when alone. I got the same with playing Twillight Princess... Nevertheless, t'is a great game and this wussy-ness seems very irrational. ;_; I guess I never got enough time to "toughen up" during my years with Yoshi and Kirby and cuteness ehehehe. All jokes and awkwardness aside though >_>. I started playing the Cube version two days before my Wii finally came in and I stuck with the Cube version till the end. I don't think this game is a perfect game at all, but it is a really great addition to the series, one of the better ones for sure. I guess what I like about it is how it takes the best things from various Zelda games, adds some new things and puts those together to form a really great adventure game. It still creeps me out most of the time, but that just means something is working. I really like the addition of the Hidden Skills, and just the whole tutorial thing with the skeleton dude. Who could incidentily be seen a dead predecessor of Link. (That's what I like to think anyway). Also, the little references to familliar places and the actual familliar places are really nice. I especially enjoyed the diversity of people. Like, every character has such a unique design to them, and alot of people you meet are very likable characters. I like the emotional connection between Link and various characters, makes you feel less alone in a game too. Like, in OoT, all you really had was Zelda, that's who yer fighting for. And in MM, you just want to get Epona back really... But now there's all these people too Dungeon designs were really nicely done and I'd die more often by the hands of...puzzles >_> than I did with boss fights. Maybe that's just me. I would have liked it if there were a few more dungeons though. I get really far in most games in like... 7 hours. Haven't beaten all the mini games yet, but there's plenty of that too so that good. Nice sidequests too, but I don't feel really tempted to complete them now that the game is already over. May try to do so on the Wii version. Overall it is a good game, with loads of memorable moments, but there's also some things that could be improved. >_> Ugh I wanna be more specific on things I loved but I can't make the spoiler things. One thing though: in that town where you can also do the "talk to the cats" game. They mention that there's monsters there and you have to take them out before they see you, or something bad happens or something I don't remember. So here I am being uber sneaky, trying to not get seen, yet I got caught plenty of times but the game doesn't throw you out or something, or says I failed. It just happily goes on. Is that supposed to happen? Kind of takes away the point of having to be sneaky.
  2. Well, if Lord of the Rings movies count as sequels, then I'd say Two Towers was better than the first. But maybe you should count all movies as one story? In terms of epicness though, I do believe that the second movie topped the first. As for games: Baten Kaitos: Origins (though be it a prequel) is in some ways better than the first Baten Kaitos game. It sure as heck wasn't bad, which is something you usually expect from sequels. To be honest I can't name many more. I either haven't played enough games or sequels really just were a dissapointment. Just wanted to name these two things though.
  3. Hmm, I can't say anything like that has happened to me yet, but I'm always extra careful around forests to avoid "random battles" >_>.
  4. Things can look photorealistic...but as soon as a character or whatever starts to move, you can tell it is not real at all, and that immedeatly kills it for me. (because of the bad physics) Like someone said on the first page; there needs to be a balance between graphics and gameplay. Right now, with just about every Wii game that is shown, I go: "*sigh* why does it still look so bad?" They can do more, so use it! And when I see other console games I go: "hey, now that looks good!", untill it starts to move and show gameplay. 3D technology may be at an all time high now, but game developers are still kids...they must learn damnit! As for the first post: What I like about Wii is that they're working more on gameplay now. So for the next generation they can implement the "better graphics" anyway, while still keeping the new found ways to play games. Lately I'm dissapointed in all consoles though...
  5. Awesome! I took a gamble with the whole FE series and I loved it so much right away! (I started with Sacred Stones for GBA.) I loved the Cube version too, but it lacked a few things the GBA version had; like extra dungeons, the optional ones and being able to re-play certain fiels for extra experience. GBA one also had more character types to choose from ("jobs"). PoR is still one of my top 5 favourite games though, but it wasn't possible to fully level up every character and all or get their weapons on high enough skill level. If they fix that in the Wii version then I'll be very very happy The cutscenes look very promising judging by those scans 0_0
  6. I guess the rushing river challenge could be concidered a archery range. You have to shoot jars with your bomb arrows while avoiding getting hit by stuff. It's pretty cool if you ask me n_n
  7. I need a new game soon cause it's getting boring. There are so many great titles to look forward to, but I fear that most of them won't hit stores untill 2008. Right before I left for Florida, the day after I finally got my Wii T__T, I started playing Zelda (Cube version) and that kept me entertained for a while when I got back. But now I feel sort of empty again. Also, now that I'm used to Cube Zelda, it's very annoying to adjust to the Wii version. (and to be honest, right now I prefer the Cube one) Wii sports is still okay fun to play a few minutes everyday but I need some good games NOW. March should be a good month for new games right? Is there any place that has an accurate release list?
  8. You guys make a good point saying having too many characters makes it difficult to choose who to play as/balance them out. But they can easily put in the old characters/clones whatever in some sort of classic mode or as secret characters. People are gonna choose favourites anyway and having alot of choice in characters would be cool for everyone. ;_; Having less characters to choose from would actually be abit dissapointing. That would be like playing F-zero GX with only the choice of 6 racers. Someone is gonna miss certain characters if left out. (Though I wouldn't mind seeing some of them go) But I agree that some characters need more unique skills and I think we'll get that too. This game better get here fast!
  9. True I hope I'll be able to set up the whole internet connection with the Wii though. I've had some trouble with my DS and we keep changing modems/routers because my dad keeps buying the wrong crap. My current one is a wireless/ethernet thingy 0_0. (My room is on the 4th floor so we needed a little boost to get me out of my 0.2kb p/s T__T; )
  10. Dude, you are welcome solely based on your sig. Thanks :)that means alot ;_; (yay for positive-sig-discrimination)
  11. Sounds like alot of fun but one can't help but feel alittle intimidated seeing most of you have been here much longer and most likely know eachother much much better. T'is tough getting in a group of tight friends But I wouldn't mind some practice against real gamers once I get my Wii in 2 Wiiks.
  12. I remember telling myself; "Come on now, let's try and be open minded and give this PS3 a fair chance." I saw a gameplay vid of this game and thought "hey, it does look good!" Then it started moving T__T; It really shows that developers have so much more to learn in terms of gameplay. It was so slow and dull looking and it doesnt do justice to the animated series at all by the looks of it. T'is a real shame. Ironically, the Wii Gundam game looks "rubbish" while the gameplay seems to be better. u_u; we just can't win can we?
  13. The hardest end game mario boss I'd say is probably the Mario 64 if you can't time throwing bowser right. I remember Sunshine being easy as hell. Beat him first try and was like...wow, heh. I agree with that, and I'll add The final boss from Yoshi's Island on SNES, which was, compared to others , kinda hard. Whereas the levels were less hard than the NES mario games (in my opinion anyway) I never did beat those games ;_;
  14. Hook up with Smoke yo. This may be a n00b question then, but I could play VS anyone in the world using the hotspots scattered around ze country too right? I dont think wireless works in my house, and i need a 35 euro USb thing to use my USB connection x_x so..much..money Yes, on any public hotspot you can use the WiFi connection. The same is also true if you buy the adapter or have a wireless internet router. Sweet, thanks. Ill just look for a hotspot map of my region then.
  15. Hook up with Smoke yo. This may be a n00b question then, but I could play VS anyone in the world using the hotspots scattered around ze country too right? I dont think wireless works in my house, and i need a 35 euro USb thing to use my USB connection x_x so..much..money
  16. I could import, but i have baten kaitos 2 coming up too and of course I JUST got my DS today ehehe. MarioKart is just invinite fun. I hope ill be able to find people to play against in this silly old country of mine.
  17. Figures...aw well, I dont regret it, i need some fun right now, im not sure how much longer i could wait. eheheh
  18. Pity. If you would have waited about two weeks, the DS Lite is coming out June 11th with a brighter screen. Set Metroid Prime Hunters to Stylus mode, and keep your stylus on the screen at all times until you want to jump. Also, I'd highly recommend New Super Mario Bros. Awesome game. Yeah, I was thinking that, but DS lite would be more expensive too right? >_> I kinda live in Europe, so I'm gonna have to wait abit for that new mario, but definatly wanted that. Not sure about Starfox, it shows a timer? I dont like being rushed. How do i set Metroid to stylus mode then? Thanks!
  19. Mmm, so i actulally got a DS today. I dunno why, I guess I figured its time i stopped being such and idiot and actually spend money for a change. (though for some reason I always feel guilty afterwards ;_; ) It cost a pretty penny I suppose, but so far I like it. (kind of) MarioKart and Mario&Luigi are both great games, but seriously, after 5 minutes of metroid i was like WTF? I cant really work that game, because it makes Samus jump everytime i even slightly touch the screen. I'm thinking about trading it back if i still can, but ugh, maybe i should keep trying.. Do you get used to it easy? or is it just a bad, baaad game? Maybe i gave up too soon, but wow, it just doesnt feel good, but there arnt many other good games out here just yet.
  20. I agree its all about having fun. But serious, sometimes i get envyous for seeing people speedrun Metroid Prime, or anything. Like, wow, these people know games, they actually go to great lengths to discover every glitch etc. Like, wow where does that come from? So, I too, would love to be better at games, because sure I have fun, but if you could actually understand games more and become better at them, maybe the fun will be even bigger. Still, for Smash Brothers, its more fun to fool about and toss items and generally beat eachother randomly, rather than it being a one sided match againts a friend who happens to be the best ever player 0_0
  21. Captain Falcon is a pretty good overall character. But for real fun, I prefer his heavy version, that is Ganondorf n_n. mmm purple. You gotta love how the falcon uppercut and falcon grab are made for eachother, its just so much fun to slap someone up first and then grab em...and then again just because you can. Actually control feeling wise, I'd say Falcon is the best. Other characters just feel heavy when playing them. If you know what I mean...like... Okay for example, on Baten Kaitos, you have this place were you walk through mud, and really, you just push the control stick like you'd always do, but it just FEELS so heavy and annoying. Thats realism, it makes you FEEL what you see. I dont have that alot with SSBM. With the exception of Falcon and maybe Fox. I notice it the most in the "race to the finish" bonus levels. I dunno, just doesnt feel right. Especially since you have to tap the control stick so many times...Maybe I'm just really out of practice
  22. It all depends on how you mash it. I've managed to do it several times, but I still haven't figured out exactly how to do it. IBu tonce I get it going, I often lose it after a second or two. As for the rest of your problems, I've never encountered those kinds of anomalies. I also don't remember ever fighting a Giant Luigi. Hmm, well Giant Luigi is just random on classic mode. But it does happen every time. As for characters running away, I guess thats also a random AI thing. Like, sometimes a character would just stand still and if you get close they'l go on platforms on the side of the screen (if any) etc. Btw, is it possible for every character to make an appearance as Metal character on Classic mode? because its often the same, yet some characters just NEVER make an appearance. Or does it depend on difficulty level? I do get Mewtwo sometimes, but hardly ever any of the bonus characters.
  23. Does anyone's game make Giant Luigi battles end in one second? With me, he just jumps and kicks and falls into the gap. Kinda weird. I recall, when fighting him when i just got the game, that the battle would actually last long. Surely it cant be an error. Also, the computer can make Link stab really fast, like Kirby's fast punches. But for some reason a human player can't? Or am I doing something wrong? Simply mashing A doesnt work. And when fighting team Ness, do they always run away for you too?
  24. Oh yeah, thats 3 lv. 9 that are after me, no team attack. And true, that would be a joke, thats why im so annoyed that I had some trouble with one the other day, I'm horribly out of practice. I usually just make them random anyway, it was captain falcon and bowser and roy. I would seriously prever human players though, since they (if they're any good) actually try and finish you off after they attacked you. I could survive for ages with 199+ damage, wheras a good human player could finish you off right away.
  25. You know what really annoys me though. Everyone thinks they're really good, and be like "I pwn you on SSBM!" and of course, you "pwn" them big time. And then you you think you're really good too, but in reality you really suck n_n. Fighting lame friends is not good for your ego, it makes you think you're the best, then someone comes along and shows you every corner of the arena ehehehhe. Anyway, wow, I am so out of practice now, I picked it up again yesterday and got absolutely annoyed by how bad I was. I could easily take on 3 level 9 characters before but now I'm just...bad... I need more practice. Saw some videos of the supposedly best SSBM players in the world...looked fun 0_0 Which inspired me to actually become "good" again. Some classic moments are always: -In a hectic battle, you manage to get a pokeball and it could save your life! But... it's a Goldeen! -Doing the down + B block attacks by Kirby! When I first saw it I laughed so hard, all the random block shapes, including the one from a Mario game whahahaha. -A kill with a fully charged shot from Samus is always good for a chuckle. -Fighting Giga bowser for the first time! And defeatng him with Rest ehehehhehe. -So...addicted...to...coinmachine...must...get...new...trophies! I think I actually have them all now. Aww, now I actually feel like playing it again. I'm just abit annoyed by the fact that the CPU players are ALWAYS able to grab you when you simply try and dodge using L + tap. For me, I'd have to first release 3 buttons and press on or 2 new ones before I could do that. CPU = too fast with reaction. Other than that, this really is the perfect game. So many modes, so many nice characters, endless of fun too! Its been what? 4 years now?
