  1. I enjoy older games becuase they are cheaper for me to enjoy than newer games. The older games I can borrow and emulate or just borrow and play, whereas I have to actually put money in the newer games... And I spend way too much on... Bass guitars for instance. I really gotta cut back on other expenses lol.
  2. I wish I thought of that, because NO... GET BACK, works soo much more awesomely than my like... vague attempt at a dying screech of sorts... Oh well, live and learn. XD
  3. I want Milk? LOL! Its not sexual innuendo, since the original lyric is "I WANT METAL" so... yea... *cough* Regardless, glad you liked my track!
  4. SoulinEther: THANKS! I'm glad you liked those two tracks. Roz: Haha, you hit OMFG! Get out of there! Right on the head, I did reference the space pirate music, because of the frantic nature of the theme and becuase... I wanted to extend it. I mean c'mon I had like 11 seconds of source to work with. Not a bad "Run" I'd say.
  5. I AM A BAD DUDE. Who also can cough up WIPs. Trust me.
  6. Yeah, I was gonna try to take it off, and then I realized that I can't afford to do so... ENJOY YER LISTENING PARTY. > ;-D
  7. Easiest thing to do. Learn how you're system sounds, and then mix. Burn said mix you seem to be happy with and play it in EVERY SINGLE THING IMAGINABLE! And then, when you are finished with that, write down what you think needs to be done and then have your fun. Easier than above: Listen to your favorite pro-tunes and adjust the way you like it as far as bass presence. Done. EDIT: It'd cost you about $200 bucks. The ELC can be free, the mic will run you at least 100 for something decent to do the thing and the ROOM... have no idea. THe bass trap is really like 20 bucks or so. NO idea. Basically, my ideas work better, I have a sub (and crappy monitors, but I digress) and my mixes (with the exception of the one I recently subbed) have all been nice and full sounding. Its really a matter of knowing how much bass is too much. Try mixing without your sub, or with it halfway and hten turn it up Lots of ways to ensure you are in the sex(ily mixed) zone.
  8. RIP Michael. I may have disliked what you were said to have done in you're recent years. But I'll remember you forever for the 80's. The amazing music you put out, the energetic vocalizations. And the Thriller Album. Yea, that's gotta be one I'll remember for awhile. woops shoot... oh well. >_<
  9. I second that idea of not using the MIDI file. I'm working on a CT Battle 2 mix along with everything else I am in the process of remixing (aren't I fun?) and I just figured that out by jamming on my guitar with it. I really really screwed up the chord progression, after I did look at a midi, but it sounded good to me and so I think that'll be one part of the remix. I also try as hard as I possibly can to not take parts from the songs themselves unless they are SUPER INTEGRAL. Like I couldn't imagine a final fantasy battle mix without that ever present bassline, if you know what I mean.
  10. Good work, I definitely recognize some chord changes you like... though I couldn't theoretically tell you what they are at first listen.
  11. Oh wow. If its possible, it'd be awesome if they could be in SampleTank format. I just use sampletank WAY to much.
  12. Hey now, I resemble that remark! And how come people can't stay on task huh? WHAT NOW?
  13. I used to scoop mids a lot myself... I used to scoop mids out of everything, but the funny part is, I could never get that tone I wanted (bass or guitar) When I accidentally forgot to apply my normal EQ when I was mixing once, I was surprised at how amazing it sounded. However: You could have a room issue, becuase some rooms do create mid issues. Though I'm not sure which room configurations would actually accentuate those frequencies.
  14. Yeah, that does make sense, but I don't think that yelling really actually has nearly the amount of SPLs necessary to kill a good condenser. Now, if you were recording a kick drum, then that may be a problem Annnnyyyway, yea. Those seem like alright choices to get you started, I mean, I recorded my vocals on a dynamic mic for a long time before I got anything like a condenser so. yea.
  15. Uhmmm... I use a condensor for my metal vocals, screaming growling and yelling.... I don't seem to have any problem with it, I just make sure the gain isn't super high. That's my only thing that I disagre with, otherwise a dynamic mic will work fine. I used one for a long time, but I definately like how intimate my vocals sound now with the nuance capturing condensor!
  16. The Fast Track works great, I have the Fast Track Pro and don't regret it. A condenser works great for both vocals and guitar generally, but.... getting an SM57 or a like knockoff is often better for micing electric guitar amps, becuase its directional. There's something about the sonic qualities of a dynamic that works best for guitar cab micing, don't ask what, I'm not completely sure. However, if you don't have the money for both, just stick with the condensor, they work great. Just make sure whatever you get, as Prophet said, has phantom power. Good luck! EDIT: Get the pro, you'll need it for a condenser, and I always recommend spending a little bit more now so that you can do more in the future. Just some food for thought.
  17. There's two reasons that I can see this wouldn't be accepted... becuase I really really really like the way this was arranged aside from these. 1) Not enough interpretation/original material. The only deviations from the source tune(s) are the fact that they drumline is very busy underneath the battle theme and the transitions in between. So its kind of pushing it. (http://www.ocremix.org/info/Submission_Standards_and_Instructions Check under the 4... generally a genre change is not quite enough to constitute enough arrangement.) 2) Those sounds are terribly fake sounding... they are the samples that come with Finale? Sadly, those won't cut it on this site. If you want to find a collaborator who has amazing orchestral samples for brass and percussion, you may seek them, and they may help you out! Other than those two issues, I thoroughly enjoyed it... you may want to learn a bit about production too, but then again if you collaborate with someone else, that end may be taken care of. If you want it on this site, good luck, I'll be keeping and eye on this thread.
