  1. Thank you for voicing something I have been trying to voice for a million-bajillion years
  2. who need a guitarist? I can give a hand if needed!
  3. The intro reminds me of Wonderboy by Tenacious D. Pretty cool acoustic chip-ish combo. The wind effect is really cool. AND THEN IT KIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCKKKSSS IN!!!! I like the way it tackled that transition. It certainly left me hanging. (but then satisfied my desires. though I wish it looped one more time before ending on me)
  4. Bumping becuase there is a show tonight. A very special first year running anniversary event! There will be special guests, and revelations of stuff more than likely. Big pimpin and all that. Today, though, the show will be starting at 7 PM EST and probably going a little later to accommodate our guests. They have a reputation for sidetracking, so we need the extra time. Come listen in and chat in IRC at #thasauce. BE THERE.
  5. I have more comments later on probably, but I want to get one thing off my chest. Prince of Darkness, for incorporating a riff that sounds similar to Lamb of God's Laid to Rest, you are now officially my hero... Please make me your disciple.
  6. Umm, well my first honest comment would be: Where's the orchestra? (A piano and a violin doesn't count as an orchestra) And the couple of times that you have upper strings... don't really fill it out much more. Secondly: The only time I really hear the theme in this as at all is the very end. I'm not even gonna comment on the mastering or sounds or whatever becuase the "arrangement" isn't really that cohesive. I have no idea what you were going for becuase I can't make heads or tails of this. What were you trying to emulate when you made this? I can't find any orchestral music reference for something in this style, and if its to be a piano concerto.... well it shouldn't be. I'm not trying to be harsh... just telling it like it is.
  7. I love you guys. I looped this remix several times one time. becuase its just that awesome. Of course I was at Magfest when it was announced. We also got yelled at for running in the halls. I normally would comment on the mix... but things don't win the DOD out of chance. And the write-up pretty much sums up the awesomeness of this.
  8. This is more hardcore punk than it is Metal IMO. That being said, this is so epic. OLR must sub now please I will also pester you if you don't. And it'll be easy seeing as we are in a band together.
  9. Soon as everything kicks in man. It seems to me that it all clips. I doubt its my set up atm becuase other professionally mastered things don't clip this badly. Like, sometimes with some harder metal I listen to it'll get a little clippy with one or two really loud sections of the piece, and I almost don't mind it becuase of the nature of the music. For a time stamp, :32 is where it gets most noticeable. :46 is where it seems to get unbearable. It seemed worse to me last night, oddly enough. But every time that crazy distorted lead comes in like arond 1:13 or so. it clips more. But in general the whole thing is a little hot.
  10. Shoot man, I hear loads of clipping here... Could be my set up but I'm thinkin' that you got something too loud.
  11. Yea, I'd go with your idea, it's pretty solid that way. I'm not the hugest fans of session drummer's cymbals, but they're better than edirol. So do eeet.
  12. Good call on this one. EDIT: GAAAH, breaking my minimalism: I LOVED THIS MOFO!!!!
  13. I may have found some of the rapping iffy... BUT, daaayyyuummm man. This was equal parts epic and silly. But it takes itself seriously, so you know what? Rock.
  14. I would say try the method of minimalist evolution. It really gets you out of ruts in my opinion. I have a piece where I just took one motif and just made variations on it, as EXTREME as I could make the variations while still almost being identified as that motif. With those you can either make the variations come in order of increasing complexity, or mess with tempos and stuff and you may have yourself a piece already. Its one way to get out of the verse chorus verse chorus thing. Try making a piece that just continuously expands on itself without the sections. Have sections bleed into each other, and maybe have a piece that doesn't really repeat a riff at all. Some of those may not be publishable, but they will get you feeling good hopefully.
  15. Ummm.... Doni, those vocals are not mine. I have a SMALL harmony part at the end. The main vocals are by Matthew Dunne, or M-One. He doesn't do too much in the community around here, so I can understand the confusion, but still. Thank you for the compliments. Although I can say that my vocals don't generally suck as bad as they did on the Megaman comp. That was definitely due to time and because it was a friggin hard melody.
  16. I can pretty much guess most of the tracks. Some are dead giveaways. DEAD giveaways. I think everyone knows the tracks I'm referring too.
  17. AMT and I need to collab. It would be justice-y and amazing. Also, MMZ!!!! Love love. Good work, I with it were longer, but its just concentrated amazing!
