  1. I have callouses on my thumbs from this game. I haven't felt this pain in ages, so that counts as hype. Man, my friend really needs to get a stick
  2. When I looked at your description I was immediately reminded of the most recent advance wars game. I don't know how well that game went but I think this idea has some merit (not that you're trying to make a game). I liked your idea of nuclear radiation causing spontaneous "evolution". Pretty interesting. I haven't finished a pokemon game since red/blue, so this would be an interesting return to the series for me.
  3. This is easily the best piece in the thread.
  4. I've listened to a couple of the OST's for .hack and my little brother played one of the RPG's a while back. The series has very nice music. The anime bored the hell out of me though.
  5. Here's some bad news for anyone into arcades living in the New England area and gamers in general. Tokyo Game Action is closing. I've never been to the place before but have heard nothing but good things about the venue. Unfortunately, it looks like due to various acts of god, the place is finally closing its doors. http://www.tokyogameaction.com/ Not to make light of this (because it is in fact very sad), but I believe they are auctioning off their wares in order to pay off bills, so now would be a good chance to pick up some excellent arcade cabs if anyone is a collector. It would be awesome if some rich philanthropist bought everything up and re-opened the place.
  6. Wow, I'm very impressed. I checked out the trailer and I definitely am feeling the different influences you cited. The visual effects are top notch as well. I can't wait to see the finished product!
  7. David Sirlin agrees with you completely. http://www.sirlin.net/blog/2009/2/22/a-few-things-about-street-fighter-4.html#comment3266847 See the last paragraph
  8. I don't believe it was Disney Quest. I just checked out some pictures of Disney Quest and it doesn't look like the place I remember. Someone who visits DW more often would probably know the exact name of the place, but it was in Future World, which I believe was in the Magic Kingdom (So, it wasn't MGM studios, or the animal kingdom, or epcot - I've never been to epcot). The most concrete memory I have of the place is that it is right next to a go-kart track. It wasn't the most impressive arcade, anyway, so let me not waste anyone else's time discussing it. Dave and Buster's was enjoyable for me and I simply went to play a few games. I didn't pay for my tickets, so I probably didn't feel the sting of paying for over-priced arcade games. At the same time, you would preferably go there for a party or some sort of get together, and eat, play, drink, all that good stuff. I'd definitely recommend giving the place a shot.
  9. Believe it or not Pizza Planet is an actual restaurant. And it has a pretty nice selection of arcade games. I'm not sure if you were serious or not, but I am.
  10. I love to look for arcades whenever I travel somewhere new. The ones that stick out the most in memory: Florida - (Orlando) The World's Largest McDonald's (or whatever). They have DDR extreme, PIU pro, some awesome drum game, and an F-Zero AX machine(very nice arcade cab). Space World Arcade(or whatever that place is called in Disney World). They have some awesome fire-fighter game (I believe it's called "Real Heroes" or something quirky like that.) Also, some other oddball machines that I can't recall anymore, and I think a DDR machine. Pizza Planet Arcade: This place was pretty nice. It has a Pump It Up New Xenesis machine, an Afterburner Legends Machine, A donkey kong jr. machine was upstairs as well. And then there is a random tekken 5 arcade cab in the corner Maryland - (Anne Arundel County) Dave & Busters (aka "The last real arcade chain on the planet" ) - It had the following: Pump It Up Pro machine Tekken 5 arcade machine A massive Virtua Tennis Machine Assorted other machines (house of the dead 2&3, racing games, etc. Nothing else of note) Virginia - (Fairfax County) Fun & Games - A very nice traditional arcade: ITG & DDR Supernova machines SC2, SF:III TS, Tekken 5 cabs, and some assorted japanese arcade games like Raiden or something. Those are all of the arcades I've visited that I thought were pretty nice. ps: Tekken 5 arcade cabs are teh sex. They have like two twenty inch lcd screens back to back with surround sound speakers and really nice arcade parts. :}
  11. That was great. I just wish I'd seen it live. This was probably the first time I've missed the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in the past ten years. Oh, well. It's still awesome.
  12. hmm, not exactly an expert on that b/c when I downgraded from vista to xp it was on my single hdd laptop. I had to reformat as well as change the drive type from like sata to nfts. If you have two different hard drives I imagine, you can have a different operating systems on each
  13. To answer one of your questions. It's best not to dual boot vista with XP. Vista has a different way of handling partitions and it doesn't play nice with other OSes. So, I'd suggest just reformatting completely and re-installing xp from scratch.
  14. Did you have this posted on your myspace page earlier? I feel like I've hear it before. Regardless, the title track is excellent. The mixes are groovy as well. Keep up the good work, man.
  15. Never mind. A different set of speakers seemed to fix the problem.
  16. My Toshiba Satellite M305D-S4830 laptop plays music fine from its native speakers and through my headphones but whenever the laptop is connected to it's ac adapter and I plug in externally powered speakers, I get interference in the form of a low humming from the speakers. Any ideas on what i can do to eliminate the interference? I don't want to listen to music on just battery power.... Any suggestions appreciated!
  17. Congratulations to both of you! Best of wishes on your wedding and enjoy Magfest!
  18. I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for, but if you contact this guy, you might be able to work together. He likes to do game related songs, and has a great sound team that makes beats and melodies.
  19. So it coming out tomorrow......? Hay, that's AWESOME MAN!
  20. Left 4 Dead is sweet. My friend showed me the demo the other day. Zombies have never had ups like that before.
  21. Exactly. I have this but I haven't had a chance to really mess with it yet. It seems like it just uses pieces of lots of other microsoft programming evnironments and languages like visual basic and visual studio.
  22. Haha, that was pretty cool. I'm still not sure whether or not I like the animation but it didn't detract from the presentation that much. *clip spoilers* Once the zombies inevitably started appearing the film got really engrossing. I thought it was funny how they fell out of the plane in droves. Gotta love zombies.
  23. Wow, you both have gotten a lot better since the last time I saw one of your vids. If your wife wants any melee Peach tactics, I am willing to provide them. Also, that d-smash at 3:30 made me cringe.... moreso than the numerous other ones. I was playing some 3 v 1's with my floor mates who don't really know how to play melee at all the other night, and it was fun as hell. I wish I had recorded some of it.
  24. Just finished the demo, ya'll. This game is going to be the shit. The sense of speed you can attain is amazing. The graphics are very nice as well, although Sephire's "uncanny valley" video basically ruined the feeling of "realism" I was trying to imagine. The entire time through the demo I kept thinking "why couldn't 3D sonic be like this?"
  25. Am I the only person here that just logs onto meebo? You don't have to download a chat client for meebo because it hosts most of the popular ones online. just put it in a free tab.
