  1. When I first heard this, I thought it was utter crap. Then after a while, the lyrics started to put a smile on my face. It's really a creative piece, anyone that enjoyed the game or Mega Man in general will enjoy the song. |GX
  2. That could work... maybe something like that after you repeat the song twice (or even in the middle of the second time). A guitar solo would be sweet, as well, if you're up to it. |GX
  3. Huh... This is solid. The only thing about this I don't like is the guitar (too much distortion for me), but that's just personal preference. I like it, but it doesn't really feel like a remix. :/ |GX
  4. ... Pure stroke of genius. This mix rocks, and would be a great idea to apply to other well known video game songs. |GX
  5. I see the idea you're going for... If you ever get any of this recorded live, please post it. I just love the idea you're going for. And BTW, I played "Louie, Louie" in my school's jazz band, so I have different memories of it. :/ |GX
  6. While I feel compelled to hug you for remixing BN2 AND 6's music, I'll refrain. >_> I have to admit... I can't find anything wrong with it... Well, maybe just a BIT too much original stuff. Not a bad thing, though, it shows you can do make your own stuff. I love the ending. Though maybe have more of a echo effect at the end. I have to admit, though. If I wasn't so familiar with the two themes at hand, it'd feel like an original piece to me. :/ Great work, keep it up! |GX
  7. Wow, that is a radical idea... I mean, its not really "dancing" per se, but that would be great for DDR songs to play with. Sounds cool. |GX
  8. Double posting to get your topic seen only turns people off; if we want to comment and help, we will. >_> Anyway, kind of repetitive. Within a minute and a half, I heard one part repeated three times (I'm guessing, though, thats the style of the music). Instruments seem bland, but they work; the drums/bass seem to be the best in this piece. Keep working at it, I'd like to see its progress. |GX
  9. I really liked this mix. Smooth transitions, nice drum work, except the obvious things mentioned before (which really don't take away from this song's awesomeness), this is a solid mix. I'm lovin' it. |GX
  10. Hmm.... Anybody that can hook me up with a Mega Man X avatar (of X)? |GX
  11. Yeah, thats probaly the case. I haven't had those problems once, and I've been using my copy for a while now. |GX
  12. Well done. I smiled through this whole review, and this is definitely one of my favorite remixes. Only because Knuckles is so badass. |GX
  13. I actually liked this song as well. I laughed a bit when I read the title, too. I knew it wouldn't be bad, for some reason, but I'm glad I listened to it: it proves there is WAY more than just one way to remix a song. |GX
  14. I really liked this piece. I can't say I'm a fan of gypsy jazz (I listen to mostly contemporary or classic), but I liked the guitar in this a whole lot. I just wish I could play the guitar as good as that. ;_; |GX
  15. I like this mix alot... the intro is very nicely done IMO, but I didn't like the way the transitions to the next song felt, it just threw me off. The end wasn't anything to get excited over either, but I enjoyed this mix a good amount. I'd say the three songs in the mix are some of my favorite in the game, and he did very well in remixing them. |GX
  16. I, too, thought it was kinda rushed and muddy at some points. Its a great mix, but I for some reason don't like the lead synth on it. Just me? >_> Yeah, its must be just me. And, the solo was kick-ass to me. |GX
  17. Hmm.... seconded. I like the sorta skipping effect near the end. Thats pretty cool, I wish I could emulate that someday. I liked the beat, and the instrument does sound close to the original, but I think thats what gives it more of a familiar edge, allowing anybody to sit down and enjoy this. 7/10 |GX
  18. I loved it. I don't care how short it is, the way they mixed their guitars with that lead sounds so... so.... Damn, I can't even describe it. Its just a great track! I think out of 10, its a positive 7. |GX
  19. Yes he would. I like the techno feel of this song. To tell the truth, when I heard this song (while playing the game), I would have never thought that it could be remixed, or at least not this good. And that "Turn the Flame Higher" is awesome! 7/10 from me. |GX
  20. This song, no.... masterpiece is outstanding. The slow, jazzy vibe I get from this song everytime I hear it is wonderful. When my mother heard this, she thought it was an original song! Its that good! I have really enjoyed this song, and this remix is a keeper on my playlist for sure. The only thing I would have added would be a solo for the sax (I'm not sure, but it sounded like a soprano. |GX
  21. I can't believe I only heard this remix by luck! There I was playing Mega Man 3 and Gemini Man's theme makes me want to remix it. I just had to see if there were any other versions of the song that I could listen too, and there it is! McVaffe, you've done it again, I love your work, and this song is just amazing. Now, back to learning that flute solo.... |GX
  22. Blew my freakin' mind. I love the sax fading in and out. The synth on the melody was not what I was expecting, but it was still very soothing to listen too. Excellent mix, its way better than anything I could do at this time. |GX
  23. I personally enjoyed this piece as well. To tell the truth, I would have never thought of it, and that is what makes me like it even more. I love jazz, and this is truly a great jazz piece, if I do say so myself. Can't believe you thought jazz lovers wouldn't like it. |GX
  24. Thank you for the welcome as well. I'll be able to learn so much from the posts on this forum. This is great! |GX
  25. Hello all. I'm Goten X, new to the remixing scene. I'm currently working on some songs for submission, and I can't wait for oyu all to critique them! I've been coming to the site for about 2 years, and I've listened to alot of different remixes. I hope I'll enjoy it here, as well as learn alot from the established remixers. |GX
