You don't have to be credited on anything you don't want to be. I would only ever ask for my name on a remix I played guitar on if I felt I contributed to the arrangement or the production in some meaningful way. But if whoever you played the live stuff for wanted to credit you anyway, it's up to them.

I'm just gonna leave this here. Sum noobs on youtube requested it. http://fishy.escariot.net/public/Aire%20Tam%20Break.pdf

Why did I start this thread again? Oh that's right, it's because train wrecks are hilarious. So in all seriousness, the pulse section of FFXIII was passable. If this game were to explore a newly settled pulse, and actually had FF like elements such as: - Towns - NPCs - Sidequests that aren't just talking stones with grudges - Characterful places to explore for no other reason then to explore them I might actually have some hope for this on reflection. The graphics were awesome, and they won't change. The battle system sounds like it's gonna be adapted, hopefully for the better. Pulse was a much better setting to me, and felt more like a typical FF epic setting. I'm changing my status from 'confused and angered' to 'quietly optimistic'.

I like comparing this game to FFX. Obviously this comparison will have mega spoilers: FFX: Average first play of up to 30 hours before you get the airship freedom. FFXIII: Up to about 25 hours before you get to pulse, the nearest thing to freedom. Why less complaints about X: Because each new town has a bunch of people to meet and areas to explore. Optional little missions and secrets. There is a world to discover and be part of, not just pretty landscapes to look at. The overall linearity is similar, but X has a more believable sense of scale in its world. FFX: Omg yuna will totally die. FFXIII: omg everyone will totally die. Why less comlaints: In X, you find out most of the way through the game, when its more of a shock, and it gives the second play through a whole new meaning. In XIII it's used as a cheap sympathy generator way too early on, and every cutscene thereafter deals with another character arbitrarily loosing hope and being coaxed back on track by whoever's there over and over for the first half of the game. FFX: Tidus dissapears when the fayth stop dreaming, which we all knew would happen but even the main characters couldn't accept it until then. Thoughts: Sadness. FFXIII: Vanille and Fang sacrifice themselves to save everyone with no warning whatsoever, and it's unlikely people take these characters seriously before or after this moment. Thoughts: Wtf/lesbian overtones. FFX: Awful voices. FFXIII: Awful voices. Ok fair enough, but I think Vanille wins this award. FFX: Has a god awful sequel which ruined everything about it, albiet with a passable if tremendously gay fashion based battle system. FFXIII: One can only speculate... (This is obviously mostly tongue in cheek, but... yeah.)

1. Remove annoying features. 2. Add some new annoying features, but generally flesh out the concept to flow better. 3. Replace main character with more promiscuous and mouthy clone. 4. Aliens 5. ???? 6. Profit Although just steps 5 and 6 on their own seems to be Squeenix's modus operandi lately.

Really digging this guy lately. He's like the perfect mix of Satriani and Eric Johnson:

Well... one of the votes was conditional. Something about a click or some skipped beat at 1:11. Get on that . It's not reeaeaady. I need more help/feedback from people who do the style better. That's all I'm sayin' .

Ok updates: Cid's Theme is being taken by a friend of mine from University, yet to choose a name. He's a cool dude, should be pretty sweet. Knight of the Round is a badass guy who just got his first FF7 mix passed recently. Unbelievably heavy 8 string poly-riffs that we can look forward to for Assault of the Silver Dragons. Brandon's Mistaken Love mix just passed the panel, so that's cool too. Got a great wip from Mazedude; and some updates from halc among others I've also been working hard with cyril of Battle 1 and my own Iifa Tree mix (which I'm fairly sure some people won't believe I made ) and they're both sounding better every day. Still need some definite replies from people on Battle 2 and Dark Messenger, but I'm trying to make sure that they get done right, by people who will kick their arse. Likewise Kuja's theme is still sitting there. Some great evil potential there.

Once crisis core got to the bit where Genesis was at the Nibel reactor I vowed never again to play another FF sequel of any kind. There is nothing more annoying then trying to shoe horn random new characters into scenes and timelines they really don't belong in. I should have learnt my lesson with FFX-2, but nooooo... Also I don't really care if they remake FF7 and it sucks, because you can just ignore it exists and play the original. Either way is fine.

Battle 2 is something I've been trying to get filled for a while via invites. Fairly confident it's sorted out. No offense but it's one of those tracks where I need someone who I can guarantee will knock it out of the park, much like Dark Messenger. I saw you originally wrote Zidane's theme. If you're interested in that then send me an audition by pm.

I think that he's made a loop out it, added drums and rapped over it. It's aight I guess. I'm all for the vg music love in mainstream music but this would be an insta-reject for using direct samples.

If you're ever in need of a jaw dropping, just type 'Guthrie Govan' in youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=440p8ZQZ3Js&feature=related (3:00.... I don't even.....) It's more impressive when you realize that half of his pieces are usually improvised sections with always completely different but consistently ridiculous and tasteful.

I just got a double claim on something as a few people are either deciding between tracks, or for what ever reason haven't been able to make an official claim just yet, details pending. To be on the safe side, consider the following claimed for the moment: Loss of Me Sword of Doubt Cid's Theme Dark Messenger

To play: 1 Guitar 2 Piano 3 Mandolin 4 Bass 5 Kazoo (if only cause i can't play anything else) To Listen to: 1 Piano 2 Acoustic Guitar 3 Electric Guitar 4 Drums 5 Cello

Wuuuut, I was literally just re-watching your stuff for the first time in years yesterday. Random. D'awww no electric guitars. That's me out. If you have any intention of ever going official OCR with this, make sure they aren't just enhanced sound covers of the music. OCR usually expects some form of re-arrangement. It's a solid theme for a project though doing proper orchestrated arrangements in the style of the newer games. Best of luck dude.

ooooooohhhh yeeeeeeeessss. Progtunes! -
http://www.xlnaudio.com/?page=products&p_page=adpaks&i_page=modernjazzbrushes Even includes pot stirring technology. I haven't tried it but it's safe to assume that AD's sampling is as detailed as ever.

Hey Kate, Ehm, well, I suppose if no one takes it before then it would be better then no track but generally we try and make sure the project is all new tracks. Most FF9 fans on OCR probably already have that track already .

OCR02475 - *YES* Mega Man X5 'affirmation'
Fishy replied to OceansAndrew's topic in Judges Decisions
Yeah the piano is just wrong, fix that shit up. I agree with Vig that the hats are too loud but the rest of the mix is... okay I guess. Laid back, kinda groovy. The snare is a bit pants to me, you might want to look at changing that in some way while you're at it. YES, Conditional on piano fix and hats down.
