  1. Dang, he does the PR job better than me. Do what he says TVG lol. Some directional change is OK, but if its vastly different, you may not get a first place vote. Still, thanks for showing interest* in the compo darkbrandflake11. (edit2) Genre swaps are OK too, but if the tempo + notation is too different, then that's a hard sell. edit: skoshu/Nase's entry for this round was heavily altered, but it kept the mood intact fairly well with some evolution. That's the kind of wild re-adaptation that is good here.
  2. thanks for participating doods. I'll be sure to vote!
  3. You ever hear the tragedy of Darth HoboKa the Unwise? ...I thought not, it's not a story the Bundeslang would tell you.
  4. http://compo.thasauce.net/compos/view/PRC I'm definitely gonna get Schwartzed to death because I went around Bundeslang's helmet Sorry!. This time only. 2 days, 4 hours. (edit) Voting process should be 3 days following the submission deadline, assuming I did it right.
  5. Temporary Solution Kind of looking forward to a dark theme, even if it means not being able to copy/paste formatting. Bright white makes my eyes bleed after 10 mins. Something to do with the blue-light from modern monitors and cellphones being amplified by bright colors like white.
  6. I guess, share it here for now. Bunda will probably give you next pick. Hopefully I'm not going around his helmet too much on this
  7. Eh, I'm considering the Soft Version the out-dated one. But i'm glad you liked most of it. Heavy ver.
  8. Wow. Seems like this tune doesn't garner a lot of love. Guess this is it for Phantasy Star for now. Therre is ONE tune from PS4 i'd like to add to the compo scene someday though. Possibly 2.
  9. Ah that makes sense. This white background is pretty hard on the eyes 2bf... Hopefully another solution will crop up later. Thanks.
  10. Lion King made me rage-quit pretty hard as a (12-14?) year old irrc. Dunno what they were smoking. (edit) So yeah, this revamp looks tempting!
  11. NVM...Logic fail. ANYWAYS this is a cool turn of events. I hope that Konami counters with a release SoTN and the handheld castlevanias in a big ass collection.
  12. Muahahaha looking forward to that. BTW, fixed link to my heavier version. Guess over-all, it's more of a cover. But got any feedbacks any1?
  13. 1. That piano sample probably is a hard sell for sure. Is it an ambient sample? It MIGHT work if the rest of the tune had a cut-off filter to kind of "muffle" vibe to accompany the lonely ambient piano notes, otherwise, the sample should be brighter and less hammery as Mr Hu said. 2. Wow that's too complicated for me. Do what Mr. Hu says if you want lmao. OFC, the lazier route is to change the sample with another awesome preset, or maybe copy/paste the track and edit some knobs to get something new out of it? Great transitions, at least to me. The drive is more or less there with a lot of evolution. I like the breakdowns. Oof yeah, that chop at 2:35 or so is also not good. Are you using ASIO4All, that helps with CPU overloads. Unless you're MAC. Then...no idea.
  14. So this was a blast to remix. More challenging than I thought. But I was fighting off a food sensitivity whilst doing it. Stupid delicious bread and its yeast T_T (edit over 9000) O right, since this is a BONUS, I took the liberty to make the intro and outro Rolf's dream / Prologue. Uh yeah. This image is totally not a spoiler. And holy camel-toe Batman. Too spicy rofl. May as well link my SC since link is weird at PRC... (edit over 18000) Here's the heavier version
  15. I was wondering about that. Seems like a brand spanking new glitch. Great.
  16. After many years of using FL Studio. I'd say...go with Cubase. FL is shit, but I'm accustomed to shit. So yeah.
  17. Well, I tried my Opera Browser for copying/pasting the Round Cover Page. Still same problem with formatting not carrying over. So if this isn't resolved soon, I will need to change the layout of the front page to make it easier to re-format. I'll go buck the OCR feedback some more too. The WORST thing is that hyperlinks get screwed too. X_X
  18. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) MIDI: http://compo.thasauce.net/files/materials/MnP105_MMBN5Nebula.mid Deadline: Sept 18 Sun @ 1PM Vote Ends: Sept 21 Wed @ 11PM submit: http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/MnP105 MnP ARCHIVE - made by Trism MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. Most or all of the source notes must be present (but not necessarily in the exact same order), secondly the mood (energy, pacing, feelings being conveyed etc) should also be retained. For example, a source tune that is fast-paced and energetic that's remixed into a mellow/chill-out theme would be a hard sell. If you decide to do a genre swap (i.e. symphonic to techno), make sure that the conditions of #2 are met. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. Please don't make any comments about people's entries - including your own - until the Voting process is concluded. BONUS entries are exempt of this rule. Same rules for PRC voting Stage: don't vote for yourself, be considerate and try to give reasonable feedback as to why you liked X or Y entry. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)
  19. Results Rejwan got 1st place with 14 points Silverpool64 got 2nd place with 13 points Mr. L. got 3rd with 12 points HoboKa got the Robotnik spoon with 7 points Comments Still having format-retention issues when copying/pasting.... I will try Opera when I make round 105 and see if that is a workaround. ALSO Rejwan, you can't vote for yourself. I'll let you off the hook since this is your first time. I didn't tally your self-vote though, so there's that. In spite of that misunderstanding, you still won the round. So there's a plus side to this. Congraturations. Rejwan, Private-Message me your source pick for round 105!!
  20. Just stumbled upon this. Maybe someone made mention of this before. But it's worth re-sharing! Some quality sounds and free can't be knocked. The Dune Packs and the Clare Solo look especially tantalizing. https://vstbuzz.com/freebies
  21. Same feeling regarding first half. I'm gonna find a way to make a monostereo "warbly" synth that is much more 80's, then I will double the length of 2nd portion with perhaps a touch of original writing. That might be fun to do. Gotta get off my ass to do it though. Thanks for feedback
