  1. It seems like it's already online. They must've gone by Japan's timezone!
  2. Dude, I totally got this. Ice vs. Ground: Frozen Soil is more brittle etc. Psychic Vs. Dark thing can be explained away by the fact that Dark Types are evil (their type in japanese is aku, which literally means evil) so their minds are basically too evil to comprehend, a psychic void, etc. They're kind of pussies physically so they do get pushed around by Fighting types, and they piss their pants at the sight of big scary bugs. Same goes for Psychics who get scared by ghosts, dark types, and bugs. Fighting in general beats everything that can be considered brittle, from Ice up to Steel (Brick Break, Rock Smash), but has trouble reaching Flying types. Their attacks are also ineffective against poison types since those often have amorphous bodies that can absorb physical punches. The same goes for bugs because catching flies with chopsticks, etc.
  3. www.smogon.com And yeah, to make it even semi-competitive it requires a pretty complicated banlist of various abilities and mons.
  4. I have a few teams made in Pokemon Online, so if anyone feels like playing I'd totally be up for that.
  5. Walk to it instead of running/biking. Your encounter rate goes up if you do anything other than walking. Also, pick a spot where its only like a few lines of grass so you can almost instantly get to the right spot, rather than having to walk to the other side of a huge field.
  6. Sonic: Unleashed was actually good if you discount the werehog levels (seriously, don't tell me wasn't fun). Sonic Colours was basically Sonic Unleashed without the werehog levels, so it was a good, if a bit short game. I think cautious optimism could be warranted this time around.
  7. AFAIK the absolute trash tier of new gen pokemon isn't that big. Pidove, Patrat, Purrloin, Trubbish, Audino, the elemental monkeys and their associated evolutions are all pretty terrible, but all the other stuff you can catch can at least be made workable.
  8. It varies per game. Diamond/Pearl had very few interesting designs to me so I ended up sticking with the same team throughout most of the game. Here I'm changing my team up almost constantly.
  9. Most of the type weaknesses make sense (water beats fire, duh), and the ones that don't can generally still be explained away (bug types are weak to poison because of insecticides, water is strong against rock because of water erosion, etc.). I have played like every single pokemon game since I was 10 years old, and I never needed to use a printed chart to figure out the weaknesses.
  10. Sounds good, I'm up for testing out Pokemon Online, I already installed it.

  11. I have a legal Snivy with Contrary (I know for a fact that it's legal, since I bred it myself). The parent that I got through GTS probably was hacked though
  12. An 8-year old child wouldn't care about the Dreamworld ability. Or the fact that EVs/IVs and Nature are acknowledged ingame.
  13. Dreamworld abilities can only be carried over by breeding a female pokemon with a dreamworld ability with a male of the same species.
  14. I'm kinda embarassed to say that I cheered out loud when I finally managed to breed a Modest Rotom with Hidden power Fire (and 23 HP, 30 Sp. A., 26 Speed IVs). ... but still, FUCK YES WASHING MACHINE POKEMON.
  15. Oh you sure fooled me with your clever april fools joke!
  16. Tomorrow will be the first day of Winter! (God, feels weird writing that) Be sure to pick up the Substitute TM from Twist Mountain!
  17. There's a flash game up on pokemon.com that lets you befriend a dreamworld Eeveelution if you play through all four levels of it, and you'll be able to transfer it to your normal game once dreamworld becomes available. It's basically arkanoid. The Eeveelutions are different from normal ones because they all have their hidden dreamworld ability, even though only Espeon, Leafeon and Vaporeon are probably worth getting for it.
  18. Pokemon Black/White. Best in the series, period.
  19. Hello. I have recently acquired a Nintendo 3DS, and though I was a bit sceptical at first, the handheld is definitely a worthy successor to the DS. I have experienced less issues with the 3DS than I have with my DS; Wi-fi was a complete breeze to set up, the controls are smooth and clicky, and the entire handheld manages to be both robust and sleek at the same time. Aside from the hardware improvements, Nintendo has made some radical improvements to multiplayer connectivity through the addition of a very intuitive interface, which functions similarly to the Steam overlay in that it can be accessed at any time during a game, and friend codes that vary by system rather than by game. You actually get a message that your friend request has been accepted this time around. The graphics are a huge step up from the DS, and the 3D effect must be seen to be believed. Though the selection of launch titles might seem shabby at first, Ghost Recon, SFIV and Ridge Racer 3D are all great games, with the latter 2 being an excellent showcase of the 3D effect. Once again, Nintendo has shown itself to be at the forefront of implementing new technologies into their consoles to improve the players immersion. Also, I just took a fucking 3D picture of kirby jumping out of my monitor. Seriously, how awesome is that? In conclusion, all I can say to your post is:
  20. Pokemon 3DS needs two things. 1. An option for AR pokemon battles so you can have your pokemon fight on your desk and basically tilt the 3DS around to look at them from multiple angles. 2. A mechanic/minigame that's basically an AR spinoff of pokemon snap; Photograph wild pokemon hiding in your room or outside.
  21. TF2 is way more forgiving, especially on the OCR server (And it's still pretty fun even if you aren't great at it). If you've played FPSes before it won't take you more than a day to get the hang of it. HoN on the other hand...
  22. No, kirby, goddamnit! You don't belong in the real world, get back inside that monitor right now!
  23. Pretty sure the AI has EV trained pokemon to some degree, but it has NEVER happened that my max Speed EV Adamant Excadrill was run out by an opposing Excadrill. I've gotten 35~ win streaks with a team made up of Tyranitar, Excadrill and Garchomp, but it tends to be shot down by water types with priority attacks like Aqua Jet a lot (Empoleon, Feraligatr, Blastoise all give it a lot of trouble) I think the most balanced team with sandstorm would be Tyranitar, Excadrill and Jellicent, since Jellicent (with water absorb) blocks fighting, water and fire attacks, and can wear down opposing water types with toxic. Grass Types would theoretically be a problem but they actually rarely make an appearance, and tend to go down quickly to Fireblast/Icebeam on Tyranitar. E: Or just throw a Choice Band on a Garchomp, and Outrage/Earthquake your way past anything. It's basically a crapshoot since you can't see the abilities before trading. The most surefire way is probably to trade with people from Japan, but even then there's really no guarantee that the pokemon will have a dream world ability.
