Lack of rhythmic/melodic structure is the main problem here. Try writing something simple and melodic in 4/4 before you move on to crazy dissonant stuff.

jazz/big band or orchestral vsts?

+1 for Sample modeling stuff. I've had people mistake The Trumpet for a live instrument several times before. -
Yes, thank god we have moved past platform collect-a-thons like DK64. For fuck's sake, how can you even prefer DK64 to DKCR.

Looking for a good orchestral VST

This is just plain wrong. I can run EWQLSO gold with 2 GB RAM with full string and brass sections and multiple articulations loaded for each, and you're not going to want to use EWQLSOs woodwinds anyway, because they're kinda bad. The only time I get issues is when I want to use an orchestra ALONGSIDE other resource intensive libraries like choirs or acoustic drums, and in that case it's still not very hard to just use a seperate project file and bounce down to .wav -
What part of 'selling each console at a loss' did you not understand? They made NEGATIVE CASH, no matter how many PS3s they sold.

If you enjoy X-com and you bought a 3DS, do yourself a favor and get Shadow Wars for it. I have the feeling lots of people passed it by in favor of Street Fighter IV, thinking it was another generic Tom Clancy game, but despite the brand and the generic AMERICA FUCK YEAH plot, it's a surprisingly deep indepth turnbased tactical game that's totally underrated on account of not being that flashy with 3D as the other launch titles, and it's somewhat of a spiritual successor to X-com.
-
Actually Sony didn't make millions selling PS3s because they made each console at a loss.

What are you even talking about, you nut. The only thing IGN has "confirmed" is that the console will have the ability to stream games to the 6" screens on the controllers. "It can run Crysis while using only 40% of it's TRUE POWER" is the typical kind of uncle-at-nintendo rumor. You know what else it does? It shoots rainbows and stars out of the disc drive and has a fully functioning AI with a holographic representation that can appear by hooking up the new holographic projector peripheral. I forgot about the source but THEY DEFINITELY CONFIRMED IT.

The weird backwards chicken legs is what did it for me.

Honestly, it panders at least as much to men as it does to women. Between the walking pair of boobs that is Isabella and the "Kyaa, Hawke-san, be gentle, it's my first time desu"-archetype Merrill it has near perfect coverage for the entire spectrum of male creeps, as seen on the Bioware forums. And let's not forget that Bioware is also responsible for Tali, whose 'popularity' goes way beyond any male character Bioware has ever put out.

DA2 had a lot bigger problems than bisexual options for both sexes. Like the fact that it actually started using Japanese Dating Sim Archetypes for it's characters (Merrill). But anyway, given that it's possible to play through either game without unlocking any of the cringeworthy romance scenes whatsoever, it's a bit exaggerated to call them western dating sims. BTW, Baldur's Gate 2 does it's romances way better, and I actually only unlocked one of them in my most recent playthrough, so they're definitely not that prominently present as in DA/ME.

dont push your religious holidays on me bro

It's actually doable without snaking... But yeah, basically the best racing game. Guess you're not hardcore enough if you can't deal with the difficulty. B-)
-
F-zero GX was one of the hardest fucking racing games I've ever played. And also one of the best, so it's perfectly fine that way.

Paragraphs, son.

If Eternal Darkness 2 turns out to be an actual thing, I guess I'm buying this Wii HD thing as soon as it comes out.

Super Mario 64 was THE 3D platformer, it pretty much singlehandedly codified the entire genre, as much as the original SMB did for 2D platformers. But yeah, flopped. Also SMB2 was mediocre.

Lower tempo and inferior vocals/guitar soloing compared to the . Seriously, nothing comes close to Akkerman's insane phrasing.

Oh you poor dear, you thought I was actually vouching for the quality of Nintendo games? How silly of you. I was making fun of all the people who act like Nintendo is completely failing as a business, and should listen to their 'amazing' plans. 'Hardcore' gamers are a fringe demographic, and Nintendo has had a lot more success selling stuff like Wii Sports to families/old people/'casual' gamers than trying to pander to the so-called hardcore gamers (as you can tell from the list of most-sold titles for Wii posted earlier). Why should they change? Because some nerds on the internet said so? Nintendo is a big company, and is out for profit above all else. Your implication that it has ever been any different, or isn't the case for Sony/Microsoft is laughable.

Nintendo has dropped the ball so many times. Nintendo should stop releasing new pokemon games. Nintendo should listen to anonymous internet users. Nintendo should do this, Nintendo should do that. Meanwhile in Japan:

I believe there are some ways to cheese it yourself, though I'm not entirely sure if they're failsafe. I think it was something that involved using Trick to give your opponent a choice item, then switch out and set up on him with Swords Dance/Dragon Dance/Nasty Plot/Something and use priority attacks like Mach Punch/Aqua Jet to OHKO anything. With maxed out attack/Sp. attack, anything that's not immune or 4x resistant will probably be OHKO'd. You basically abuse the fact that AI opponents rarely switch out. Actually I thought this out a bit and came up with this, should basically be a failsafe strategy: Use some fast pokemon resistant to Ice, Dragon and Rock (Steel Types would work) with a Choice Scarf and Trick as a lead, and a Dragonite with Dragon Dance/Waterfall/Dragon Claw/Roost (Water/Dragon coverage won't get resisted by anything you encounter in the battle subway except Empoleon). If you're doing EV training stuff the Dragonite should have maxed out HP and Special Defense so he can shrug off the Choiced attacks. In battle use Trick to put the Choice Scarf on the enemy pokemon, check out the move he does (most likely not Ice/Rock/Dragon since you resist it). Switch into Dragonite, use Dragon Dance 6 times while your opponent is trying to dent you with what is hopefully a neutral or resisted attack, Roost if you need to, then proceed to outspeed and OHKO everything. Dragonite is resistant to both Mach Punch and Aqua Jet so priority attacks shouldn't be much of an issue.
