  1. I wish I could find an MP3 quality rendition of this song..
  2. Actually Our God Is An Awesome God is pretty fucking epic, that whole kristianity schtick aside. I have never cried because of a song, but some of them really do move me, especially if they were in a certain context (like a movie) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyiVKtt6dgc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHO5KWIMZUo
  3. Since we're talking about classes I'll give my thoughts Demomen are very strong, if not slightly overpowered. The sticky bombs are almost ridiculously strong and it happens very often that I see demo's not even using their grenade launcher and still being quite effective, and that's where the problem is. It just feels cheap, despite demo being my most played class, when I miss a scout four times with my grenades, switch to stickies, and blow him up right away. Same goes for most other situations, it happens too often that demomen can just cheese their way out of an encounter with sticky spam. Soldiers, on the other hand, are strong, but balanced. Yes, if you have just picked up the game and you start with a soldier, you'll be able to rack in quite a few kills due to the splash damage and crits, but it isn't exactly effective, and any decent player, no matter what class, will still roll you in a direct encounter. And there's always soldiers who are able to pull crazy stuff like mid-air rocket hits and have rocket jumping down to an art, so to say that there's no skill involved would be taking it a bit far.
  4. It's hard to tell but aside from anything else, the rhythm guitars could use a definite boost in volume. As for EQ, it's best if you start out with a tone that's already very good, and just use post-processing to tweak it a bit, you can't polish a turd so to say. I Generally use a slight, wide boost around 2000 Hz works to help bring out definition, and roll off around 150-200ish to get rid of those pesky bass frequencies. Also, use a bass guitar. Oh, and not meaning to mini-mod but your sig is too tall, it can only be 250 pixels high at most.
  5. I'd like to audition for the Delphinus theme, but the registration confirmation link that gets sent through e-mail doesn't work for me. Great idea for a project though!
  6. I'd say keep hydro in. I haven't played any games that were outright bad on it lately, it's just that it happens too often that both teams start turtling. It's downright amazing if the teams are balanced and offensive though, makes for some epic sudden deaths.
  7. Actually they would probably be pretty apathetic because they're REALLY BAD AT ENGLISH in general. (see what I did there?)
  8. Atmuh has stopped playing. And besides, it's not like he used pornographic sprays anyway, so I fail to see the comparison.
  9. The preferred method of playing TF2 around here is not playing it on Xbox (or PS3).
  10. It's true that whenever I see someone sticky spawn camping I immediately start a votekick on them, people should just learn to read the rules. Being a regular on the server doesn't excuse you from this either, so if vahn has been ignoring other users reminding him of the rules, I say just ban him.
  11. Shut up. Go back to myspace/livejournal/wherever it is douchebags like you hang out. Did you notice how Undefined basically made the same point as you did, except he didn't phrase it in such a retarded way? yea.
  12. Rejected remixers opening whiny threads have become somewhat of a meme here over the years, the phrase 'shtyjdgfgt' (shitty judge faggot) is related to that. So understandably, it's refreshing to see someone handle the criticism as well as you do. People are just poking fun at you a bit for that, because it's really the complete opposite of what they expect. I have to say, I did love your remix ever since I heard it back on the wip boards, so best of luck getting it accepted if you resub.
  13. Heavies are meant to have the upper hand on soldiers in a straight fight. If you're a skilled soldier you might be able take down heavies consistently, but they can soak up a lot of damage, and will usually take you down before you manage to do enough of it (crits notwithstanding). A demo is a way better match up against a heavy and doesnt have to rely on crits at all. People seem to forget that soldiers are meant to be the universal combat class, thus they aren't particularly weak against any class (depending on situation, in a straight fight with a heavy on full health they'll probably lose, but so does every other class), nor do they completely dominate any other class, but they're effective in a lot of situations, which leads to people calling them overpowered.
  14. Might just be the similarity of our names but I totally agree with sensai. About everything. Ever.
  15. I'd like to add to this that hemo has generally been a bit of an arrogant prick with his admin rights the few times I've seen him ingame. There's at least one incident where I called him out on kicking some guy for NO REASON AT ALL, to which he claimed he did it on accident, and was generally rude about the whole thing ("Do you have a problem with my authority?"). So yeah, I dunno, makes me wonder why the guy has admin in the first place.
  16. The difference is that I come to this site voluntarily, submit remixes to it voluntarily, and I voluntarily (try) to abide to the standards here. Nobody says I SHOULD submit to this site. If a nobody comes along and says hey, YOU SHOULD NOT REMIX LIKE THAT, well then I'll just say fuck you to them.
  17. Bullshiiiiit. Why are you even telling people what they should or shouldn't do when they're remixing a song? Remix songs yourself if you're so smart but don't impose your standards on other people, ESPECIALLY if it's on a site like ocremix where a certain degree of original material/deviation from the source is nearly a requirement for a song to be posted. The whole idea of keeping in line with the original feeling of the song is flawed anyway, since those songs in-game are meant to underline actions/locations, a particular scene or event, or a certain character (not to mention they usually have to be loopable), whereas a remix, or ReMix, is meant to be a complete standalone piece.
  18. Maybe you die before people have a chance to crit. Easily 50% of the times I die it's because the enemy got a crit. Also, I whine about crits when theyre ONE of the factors that made me die, i.e. a scout crit scatterguns me and then finishes me off with a normal shot. It's just as annoying.
  19. Wow, you must be a huge idiot to criticize the FLCL OST for being bland. The Pillows are hands down one of the best japanese rock bands in a sea of visual kei fail, and the music really adds to the amazing atmosphere of the series. Then again I guess the fact that you're into ZOMG BIG BAND JAZZ ANIME OSTS gives you the right to look down upon 'mere' rock, which is obviously not real music.
  20. My thoughts on crits should be well known by now due to the huge amounts of whining I do. It's a fact that as you become more skilled you'll be somewhat able to calculate (subconciously most likely) how much damage you've done and how much more it will take to finish off the enemy, and base your movements on that. Crits mess that up. For example, when I play scout and I know it will take one point blank shot to take down the pyro I'm facing, I have full health, and I know that there's a medkit right around the corner, I'll jump in and finish him off. Of course, then his flamethrower crits, and kills me before I can even squeeze off a shot. Same when I know that the heavy right around the corner doesnt have enough health to take me down before I do him in with circlestrafing because he's not spun up and all that, so I jump out, get off two shots before his gun spins up and he instakills me with a crit. It's mostly the randomness of getting punished by an enemy crit for making an otherwise good analysis of the situation which would win you the battle. You can argue that this goes both ways but when I kill an opponent with a crit I really don't feel as much satisfaction, because I know it was just dumb luck rather than skill that killed the guy. So yes, I'm all for at least a few 'critless' days in a week.
  21. I've never heard bonzai do awesome commentary on arena matches.
  22. I don't care about my points (I was like 20th in points iirc), I care about my k/d, which was basically at 0.5 because of my noob suicidal pyro runs when I was starting out, so the 0.86 k/d I managed to get it up to wasn't really an accurate representation of it. btw, presh is an admin too if I recall correctly.
