  1. Game: Banjo Tooie Song: Hailfire Peaks, Fire Side and/ or Ice Side Midi: Fire Side / Ice Side
  2. Though I did not get a track in this round, I did vote...
  3. I got my name when I was signing up for my first MMORPG (Runescape). Before that I had used some other names, but they had already been taken, and I really did not want to have a name with numbers after it. So I started make sounds with my mouth: Stimmick... Fimick... Fimack... Grimack... Grimgack... GIMGAK!!! And it's stuck ever since.
  4. I'm not very experienced in web design, but your site seems pretty well organized and visually pleasing to me. I could navigate through the pages with no trouble. On a sidenote, OMFG! Your music is awesome! I'm getting "Visions" as soon as it's released.
  5. To be honest, if it were not for OCReMix, I would probably not be half (or at least one third) the person I am now. OCReMix gave me some of the best music I've put on my mp3 player, which has influenced my life in a huge way. It also introduced me to a bunch of nice people who enjoy music as much as I do, and I know that I can always come to the forums for music help. Without OCReMix I probably would not even be making music right now because I would not know about Fruity Loops. Thank you djpretzel!
  6. If the piece I've started keeps going in the direction that it is now, I should have a entry by next week.
  7. Thanks for the comments so far. Any one else feel like giving the gift of feedback?
  8. w00t! Second place! I guess that's pretty good considering how good the entries were overall. Good job everyone! Can't wait for the next round.
  9. The guitar part in this is really cool and the stuff going on underneath the guitar sounds good too. The strings at the end sound great. It does get a little boring because of the repetition though. I would suggest keeping all or some of what you have so far, and maybe try changing the texture of the song at one point, like have some percussion come in or something. Great job so far.
  10. Magix Music Maker was the first music program I had, and this is easily way better than anything I ever managed to make with it. I really like the sort chilling/ layed back feeling that the song has. The percussion and transitions are well done. It seems like this song goes through like 10 different sections, but it still manages to fall back in place by the end. Well done
  11. Pretty good rain effects at the beginning. Then a piano comes in with a melody with two other instruments backing it up. Those two other instruments sound like their hanging over on some notes which creates some dissonance. Unless your going for that sort of mood, I'd try to fix it. The flute that comes in sounds ok, though it could maybe sound a little more separate from the other instruments. A small detail is that the rain just suddenly cuts off. You may want to try fading it out to make a better transition into the next part of your song. As for where to go from here, that's really up to you. You might want to add some percussion or more instruments. Not to be harsh, but this intro is a little boring. But if you resolved the intro with a more interesting part after it I think this could work.
  12. This is a project I've been working on for about a year now. It's the first entirely original album that I've produced. I thought it would be a good way to practice my production skills and I think that it's helped a lot. This album has a strong space/ sci-fi theme and I think it's reflected well in the music. All the songs were created using FL Studio, which I've been use for about a year and a half now. Most of the songs are in a techno/dance style with some orchestral elements. I posted this here because I'd like to get some feedback from some other musicians. All feedback and comments are welcome. Zip file - Full Album Individual mp3's - 1.Take Off 2.To Infinity 3.Orbit 4.Solar Burn 5.Aurorae 6.Star Chase 7.Dark Matter 8.Spaced Out 9.Flight of the Space Dolphins 10.Prophet of Sonitus 11.Sputnik Jam 12.The Battle of Mare Crisium 13.Sonata of the Stars 14.The Return I hope you enjoy it!
  13. These songs are interesting. They are pretty atmospheric, which is good because you said you were trying to write video game music, and I could see both of these being the background music for a game.
  14. This sounds pretty good. The drums and rhythym guitar sound really good. The only problem is the lead guitar sounded a little muffled-ish to me, but it's still way better than any sound I've managed to record from my guitar.
  15. I like this. You set up a nice, mellow mood at the beginning of the song. I like the breakdown at 2:40. Ends with some cool crystally-(if that's a word)piano. Keep up the good work!
  16. Pretty awesome. I've been waiting on someone to make a good mix of Pirates. Really like the echoy synth that comes in at 0:58.
  17. If your looking for classic rock, there's Heart. If your looking for Irish alternative rock you might wanna check out The Cranberries. Check out their song "Zombie".
  18. I managed to beat every song (expert) up to The Devil Went Down To Georgia within 24 hours. I'm still stuck on it.
  19. Here's the black mage costume I managed to put together this year:
  20. I'm planning on going as a black mage.I've always wanted to cause Vivi is like one of my favorite video game characters. I have the face, yellow eyes, and yellow hat covered. I only lack a blue robe but it should not be too hard to find.
  21. I was about to make this post myself if no one else did. I am totally into the idea of a new podcast and give my full support to anyone who wants to create one.
  22. I represented! So I'm guessing that was you (bladiator) that I saw there. Was anyone else there?
  23. I've been thinking about playing some more Guild Wars since I have not played in a while. Right now I only have Prophecies but I may upgrade. My accounts: Gimgak the Pure - my main accout, a lv. 20 ranger Gimgak the Impure - secondary account, a minion master
