  2. Sorry, but when your resub sounds worse (in my opinion and others') than the initial, I'm inclined to just go with what I know and like. There've been a few instances where I've let songs go by that I know aren't gonna pass the panel, so I guess if you want to fault my quality control methods on that, then go ahead. But keep in mind, if we cut all non-passable remixes out of projects in the past, we wouldn't have bLiNd's "Dodge this Sakura" or sixto's "Pickin' Out the Fleas." The OCR judging criteria is what it is, but sometimes I don't feel like what's best for OCR is best for the project and I hope in instances where a mix is rejected by the panel, you'll all be able to see the reasoning for keeping it on the album. I can say that about 85-90% of the album is OCR passable and the other 10-15% are no less enjoyable. Also, if you keep whining about the Fanfare intro I'm going to move your song to the bonus disc, Brandon, and ask DJ Frog to remix it. How's that?
  3. No, no. Don't listen to Brandon. The donations are just for those who want to have a physical CD copy to remember the project by, complete with all the custom artwork in printed form. The digital album will still be free to everyone.
  4. Honestly, I don't mean to be crass, but to save us both the time, I'll just tell you now that this won't get on board the album. I was able to count about 2-3 seconds of source usage in the whole WIP and we're looking for something a bit more sourcey for the project :\ Definitely an improvement over your last Stilt WIP though
  5. We've got a country-style remix with some harmonica, fiddle, and honky-tonk piano... I'm not sure if that specifically counts as bluegrass but it's pretty close
  6. Nonsense! What'd you think I hired all you remixers for, to make music? Pah! Clean up this mess!
  7. Seriously, I'm extremely compulsive about this sort of thing, I don't even know what's wrong with me. I've got issues, no doubt
  8. Nah, that wasn't a comment against you, it was a comment pointing out that I have no effing life
  9. He's probably spoiled by people like me who update their tracklist literally the minute they get a new WIP/WAV
  10. Jungle Jitter GBA is showing some nice progress, Dave is aiming to meet the same deadline as everyone else. Monkey Kong's song is done, and it is AWESOME Just waiting on a WAV from them now. Both songs are gonna blow you away, for sure. That's all I'm gonna say about that.
  11. Look again, it was never dropped. He just disappeared and didn't ever finish the track. It looks like we're just going to use his current WIP (which is exactly 3 minutes long) as the final version, run through Prophecy's mastering presets to give it some shimmer. Don't worry, you'll still hear the song on the final album
  12. You seem like a pretty cool dude who makes pretty cool music. Congrats on being awesome!

  13. Stilt Village SNES is now OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. If you or someone you know is a bad enough dude to do a remix that's appropriate for the source and sufficiently awesome to hold up to the crazy-high quality standard we've got going for the album, PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF KNOWN. You will be expected to work quickly but this will be your last chance to get on the last DKC album there will ever be! I'll be recruiting simultaneously (I know a few people who might be a good fit for this tough source) but if you feel like you can tackle it, lemme know!
  14. A+++ Birthday Deia! Birthday arrived on time and in great condition! Would celebrate again!
  15. This is sick; I haven't even played FFVII but I feel some sort of connection to these tracks nonetheless. That's the mark of a good album, I think. I might splurge and buy the physical release, the 14 dollar pricetag is a bit steep for someone on a $0 a year income, but if the rest of the music is this good, I'd say it's warranted Counting down the days on this!
  16. That's okay, Arek's mistaken my project thread for his too at one point, so really it all balances out in the end
  17. I've been slacking on my updates, so let me formally congratulate both Blue Magic and Hylian Lemon on finishing their remixes. They're about as opposite in mood as two remixes can get, but both absolutely nailed their respective source tunes moods. Not much else I can say, although you can hear a sample of Blue Magic's track on the Christmas preview that was recently released. We're at the halfway mark, WAV-wise! Almost 80% of our songs have now seen significant progress or completion, so I think we're right on track for the Feb. 11th deadline. Some songs will straggle behind into March (Stilt Village GBA and Brothers Bear GBA are the two I already know about) but the rest of you have no excuse! Hell, even I'm progressing on my WIP. Keep sending me those updates! I've gotten a TON of them lately, and it makes me smile every time! A Challenger Approaches! Newcomer Doc Nano has completely knocked Wrinkly 64 out of the park. Haven't heard of him yet? Well, I guarantee you'll remember the name after you hear his song It's really incredible work. EDIT: Malcos is done too EDIT2: Add mv's song to the list!
  18. Happy birthday, Fattias Haggstrom Gerdt! Mattias Haggstrom Fart? Or maybe Mattias Faggstrom Gerdt... They're all good Take your pick, birthday boy!
  19. Great job on the birthday, you've earned it!
  20. Man, you really gotta get some live guitar on this. I LOVE the feel of your arrangement, but the guitar sample, unfortunately, is bringing things down a lot I think I'd be able to approach this mix a lot differently with a live guitar in there, because the arrangement is packed with a lot of emotion. All of the countermelodies are really beautiful, as are the backing strings. *Flashes the Stevo Signal!* Sure hope you can find some live guitar for this, it absolutely deserves it
