  1. Second-to-last day before the final deadline passes... here's where we stand so far: 39 WAVs have been turned in up to this point. prophetik finished up his track in one shot the other morning and it's very unique and fun! Rozovian's also done with his 8+ minute Cavern Caprice GBA masterpiece as of just a few minutes ago, and verily, it was good too! As for the rest of you... I'm eagerly anticipating the (hopeful) flood of songs that need to come in over the next 2 days. I already know that some of you won't be making it in because of prior arrangements, but be advised that I'll be seeking alternative arrangements (pun intended) for those who simply flake out on me I want as many WAVs as possible in my PM inbox or email by tomorrow night (I'll be out doing birthday celebration activities all night though, so the de-facto deadline is really going to be early on Saturday morning Please don't push it that late!) Good luck everyone! Game Over GBA, the collaboration between myself, Cody, and a little bit of Theophany, is now DONE! For both Cody and me, this is our first finished OCRemix ever but we think it's going to be a great way to end off a really, really epic segment of the album. Can't wait til you guys can hear this! Also, Peach is done as well! Perhaps the remixer who put the most overall time into polishing his mix out of anyone, the effort he put into the product is astounding and certainly makes his debut remix a memorable one! Congratulations!
  2. Do what you can, spume later. That sounds like your typical MO anyway, right?
  3. Source usage definitely seems to check out to me, the connection seemed very obvious but still expanded on. I would still suggest a submission, the percussion seems more like a stylistic choice than a production oversight and actually contributes a bit to the soundscape IMO, but Justin's advice is perfectly viable and very well could help assist the mix in passing. Up to you really, I still enjoy it quite a bit regardless
  4. Really? I'll bring that up to the proper people and see if there's anything we can do about that from a backend perspective.
  5. That's what she said!

  6. Still longer than I could say for pretty much everyone else on this site :-P I think you were pretty much one of the first people I met and actually started talking to! Yay!

  7. ROFL there is so much dubstep on this project. But unlike most commercial dubstep, this stuff actually has melodic content and doesn't suck!
  8. Honestly, I've been listening to this for a while listening for things I don't like, but even if there's some things like the hi-hats that aren't quite up to bar, it all feels like a very cohesive song where everything works well together. It feels very BOC-ish and a very accurate interpretation of the source in that genre. Great song, could you post a download link so I could keep this?
  9. I'll take a quick diversion away from this discussion to announce some really cool developments that have happened in just the last day! First off, please welcome DJ-AKX to the project, who will be rounding off our tracklist (hopefully the last new addition to the project) by filling out Stilt Village. Hopefully he'll do it justice in the way the source was always meant to be! Also, Archangel and Ross Kmet, two of the quirkiest remixers on the project, have both submitted two amazing WAVs with two of the best remix titles yet Crystal Chasm and Jungle Jitter are both done and I'm absolutely floored by both of them! Celebrate! Anyway, I'm taking this moment to remind everyone that the final deadline is only ONE WEEK away! I'm expecting all but maybe 3-5 songs to be finished by the 11th, and the others to come soon after. This is going to be a glorious week! If it helps motivate you, the deadline is also my birthday so if you get me a WAV by then, you don't have to get me a present Time's up, let's do this!
  10. I agree completely I feel like this is one of those songs I will listen to for a long time to come and keep finding new things about it. It's one of the great things of 7+ minute songs, you can't experience it all in just one listen. It takes several listens to really understand how much effort went into it, and that's the mark of a great musician to me!
  11. One of my favorite remixes ever, the sequencing and attention to detail in the arrangement is astounding. We need more stuff like this on the site!

  13. Sorry, but when your resub sounds worse (in my opinion and others') than the initial, I'm inclined to just go with what I know and like. There've been a few instances where I've let songs go by that I know aren't gonna pass the panel, so I guess if you want to fault my quality control methods on that, then go ahead. But keep in mind, if we cut all non-passable remixes out of projects in the past, we wouldn't have bLiNd's "Dodge this Sakura" or sixto's "Pickin' Out the Fleas." The OCR judging criteria is what it is, but sometimes I don't feel like what's best for OCR is best for the project and I hope in instances where a mix is rejected by the panel, you'll all be able to see the reasoning for keeping it on the album. I can say that about 85-90% of the album is OCR passable and the other 10-15% are no less enjoyable. Also, if you keep whining about the Fanfare intro I'm going to move your song to the bonus disc, Brandon, and ask DJ Frog to remix it. How's that?
  14. No, no. Don't listen to Brandon. The donations are just for those who want to have a physical CD copy to remember the project by, complete with all the custom artwork in printed form. The digital album will still be free to everyone.
  15. Honestly, I don't mean to be crass, but to save us both the time, I'll just tell you now that this won't get on board the album. I was able to count about 2-3 seconds of source usage in the whole WIP and we're looking for something a bit more sourcey for the project :\ Definitely an improvement over your last Stilt WIP though
  16. Did Horsea just evolve into Seaking?
  17. We've got a country-style remix with some harmonica, fiddle, and honky-tonk piano... I'm not sure if that specifically counts as bluegrass but it's pretty close
  18. Nonsense! What'd you think I hired all you remixers for, to make music? Pah! Clean up this mess!
  19. Seriously, I'm extremely compulsive about this sort of thing, I don't even know what's wrong with me. I've got issues, no doubt
  20. Nah, that wasn't a comment against you, it was a comment pointing out that I have no effing life
  21. He's probably spoiled by people like me who update their tracklist literally the minute they get a new WIP/WAV
  22. Jungle Jitter GBA is showing some nice progress, Dave is aiming to meet the same deadline as everyone else. Monkey Kong's song is done, and it is AWESOME Just waiting on a WAV from them now. Both songs are gonna blow you away, for sure. That's all I'm gonna say about that.
  23. Two separate, full-length remixes
  24. Look again, it was never dropped. He just disappeared and didn't ever finish the track. It looks like we're just going to use his current WIP (which is exactly 3 minutes long) as the final version, run through Prophecy's mastering presets to give it some shimmer. Don't worry, you'll still hear the song on the final album
  25. You seem like a pretty cool dude who makes pretty cool music. Congrats on being awesome!
