  1. Ok, things have been sorted out as far as I'm concerned. I feel like I reacted the best I could knowing what I did at the time, but it sounds like it was not an ill-intentioned act, but just a REALLY stupid mistake. So, all's well I guess. But still, DON'T LEAK YOUR TRACKS, ANY OF YOU >
  2. [disregard] As a note to other artists, please do not release your songs ahead of time without my express permission. I'm not opposed to you putting out teasers but do not put out any project material without asking me!!
  3. Yeah BP, I'm really feeling your song too. Was gonna listen over it when I had access to better headphones to provide you with some critiques (if I could come up with it) but it was tight. I'd say it's WAV quality too
  4. Don't get me wrong, there's no lack of activity, it's just mostly WIP updates from people like OA, Monobrow, Zyko, ProtoDome, Prophecy... Dave Wise himself. All these artists (except PROTO ) are getting REALLY close to finishing, so I'm expecting a storm of activity... ...eventually?
  5. I strongly approve of this development
  6. Oh god, I think I'm going to overdose on this track. I've had it on loop for, like, 3 hours now. So good!
  7. Ummm... yeah, no. This project already got a release, and it's got twice the number of songs that your proposed release has. Someone went ahead and tagged the files and put them all in a nice .rar for download anyway. The download link still works fine. http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=25430 What does this version of the project offer, other than a chance for you to throw on a couple of your own songs and get your name onto something that's already been completed, more or less?
  8. This is pretty neat, your drum writing is really good and your mixing is pretty punchy. I'm a little worried that your rhythm guitars are knocking the intensity out of your lead though, which doesn't feel quite like it's cutting through. Try turning your rhythm guitars down a bit and letting your lead guitar take the spotlight a little bit more. In the sections where there's no rhythm guitar playing, your lead sounds really nice so I know it's not a bad recording Overall, I like this quite a bit. Without much more effort I think this could be ready for submission, but the mixing isn't quite there yet.
  9. Aight, I definitely agree with halc on the intro, that drags on a bit too long and doesn't really do enough to capture my attention right off the bat. Thankfully, when this picks up it's a lot more fun. I feel like the clap sound really doesn't fit properly with the rest of the mix. Your kick sound is really thick and beefy though, that's good Helps carry the groove nicely. Fun breakdown with the glitches, though I think that runs a little long. I'd take all your best glitch effects and trim some of the fat from that section. I'll second the notion for more of a payoff at the end, it's lacking in intensity, and I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe it's because the groove only picks up and really goes for a few bars before it goes back to glitching, so it never gains much momentum. Maybe let that section go on for a little longer and work more on beefing up the supporting instrumentation, too. Not a bad start, this is a funky groove with a really good sounding beat, keep going with it!
  10. BITCH get on AIM!

  11. Hahaha, halc, you're not fooling anyone. Stop stealing music from other people and get back to making your goddamn chiptunes
  12. Just thought I'd chime in real quickly here; halc covered a lot of this but because of my proximity to the source I thought I'd offer some feedback too. The first few minutes of the mix are not very interesting to me, as a listener :\ The soundfield is just too sparse to really produce a dominant mood. At least throw in some ambient pads to fill those sections out. Once the strings come in, this gets a lot more enjoyable, but like halc said, there's muddiness abound. EQ cuts to help clear out some of the mud are definitely called for here. The chords and the writing, especially when the strings come in, are very dark and moody. You did a great job with that, and it's those sections where it all clicks together that make me think this song has quite a bit of potential to it. But the minimalist approach isn't really working IMO. Take that for what it's worth
  13. I fucking LOVE that band!
  14. I turn my subwoofer all the way up just to piss people like you off Funnily enough, all of my neighbors and roommates and anyone in a 500 yard vicinity of my house seem to hate me. Go figure.
  15. Well, in my defense I've tried contacting you at least half a dozen times lately so I can get back on the ball with song reviews, but no dice :\ Please hit me up next time you're on IM and I'm not down with the fuggin' flu, I want to get back to helping you out with this like I promised
  16. What can I say? I'm a huge information whore This is the kind of thing I would have completely OMGWTFBBQ'd over back during the production of Serious Monkey Business, even though it really doesn't have any consequence whatsoever. Still, I think the average song length for this project is above-average, with people like Zyko, Theophany, and ESPECIALLY Rozovian throwing off the curve For some, that might be a bad thing, but I didn't let any super-repetitive songs get by either, so those long songs actually have substance to 'em! Just another reason to GET HYPE!
  17. I just updated the tracklist with the current track lengths for all of the completed arrangements... mostly out of boredom, but I'm sure one or maybe two of you will find that information interesting. That's still a lot more unfinished songs than I wanted at this point... However, I do have to thank those who DID get their work finished, including Zyko x1 and Sole Signal, who submitted their final WAVs to me today. That's pretty neat
  18. Mattias Halcstrom Gerdt I'm going incommunicado for the night, if you need me, send me a PM and I'll get to you in the morning!
  19. We're quickly racking up the final WAVs today In the last few hours, I've gotten finished versions from halc and Another Soundscape, and from Zylance! At the risk of overhyping, these tracks are AWESOME and pretty much some of the best material each respective artist has put out. These tracks will NOT disappoint! Let's keep 'em coming guys! 5 so far today, but we've still got a long way to go!
  20. It's about time you start putting out, bitch!!
  21. Yes, I know, I'm a shameless whore But I've specifically asked for nothing else for my b-day so it karmically balances out my selfishness XD <3 u much dude, thank youuuuu!~
  22. Second-to-last day before the final deadline passes... here's where we stand so far: 39 WAVs have been turned in up to this point. prophetik finished up his track in one shot the other morning and it's very unique and fun! Rozovian's also done with his 8+ minute Cavern Caprice GBA masterpiece as of just a few minutes ago, and verily, it was good too! As for the rest of you... I'm eagerly anticipating the (hopeful) flood of songs that need to come in over the next 2 days. I already know that some of you won't be making it in because of prior arrangements, but be advised that I'll be seeking alternative arrangements (pun intended) for those who simply flake out on me I want as many WAVs as possible in my PM inbox or email by tomorrow night (I'll be out doing birthday celebration activities all night though, so the de-facto deadline is really going to be early on Saturday morning Please don't push it that late!) Good luck everyone! Game Over GBA, the collaboration between myself, Cody, and a little bit of Theophany, is now DONE! For both Cody and me, this is our first finished OCRemix ever but we think it's going to be a great way to end off a really, really epic segment of the album. Can't wait til you guys can hear this! Also, Peach is done as well! Perhaps the remixer who put the most overall time into polishing his mix out of anyone, the effort he put into the product is astounding and certainly makes his debut remix a memorable one! Congratulations!
  23. Do what you can, spume later. That sounds like your typical MO anyway, right?
  24. Source usage definitely seems to check out to me, the connection seemed very obvious but still expanded on. I would still suggest a submission, the percussion seems more like a stylistic choice than a production oversight and actually contributes a bit to the soundscape IMO, but Justin's advice is perfectly viable and very well could help assist the mix in passing. Up to you really, I still enjoy it quite a bit regardless
  25. Really? I'll bring that up to the proper people and see if there's anything we can do about that from a backend perspective.
