Oh hey, is that sum full tracklist that I see? I think it is! Welcome Archangel to the project, he'll be tackling Jungle Jitter SNES, which I've been trying for the longest time to find someone for. His WIP is awesome though and totally does justice to the original, so this will hopefully mark the end of a very, very long journey searching for someone suitable to remix that source. With that, the tracklist is 100% full. Some songs may open up when the deadline rolls around, but other than artist swaps, you may very well be looking at something very close to final in terms of track listings. Be amazed

So, I meant to announce this a while ago, but Brandon's finally finished with his 3rd and last song! We can now officially say that reggae has some representation on the album, and it's a very short-but-sweet interpretation of a nearly-unmixable source. Congratulations on not having to deal with me anymore! The rest of you... I've gotten a few WIP updates here and there, and I know a LOT of you have said you're working on your song behind the scenes but haven't shown me any updates, so... plan on getting me something by the deadline. For those of you I still don't hear from by the 1st, your tracks will be marked as late and they'll be open to the public for competition again. I like the current state of our artist list so please don't make me remove you For the rest of you... lemme just say that December is going to be a huge month for the project. We've got some really kickass animated signatures brewing, and we may or may not be releasing some more preview material later in the month Stay tuned, we've got some good stuff in store!

That's a good idea, but it really makes me wish there was an easier way to "tag" songs with iTunes instead of going in and editing the Comments field, which is oftentimes taken up with other information anyway, so I wouldn't have to automatically update a bunch of different genre-based playlists every time I get a new song in my library.

I'm still feeling like the e-piano is a bit too loud most of the time, though the sounds are pretty well chosen. Arrangement tends to feel a little plodding, like there's not really much of a structure/sense of direction to it. I personally don't mind, but it's something the judges will probably knock you for. The performance isn't the best either, I'm noticing a lot of mistimed notes throughout the song, most noticeably during the Turnabout Sisters section, where the theme just feels pretty sloppy Last bit of critique, you're getting a LOT of background buzzing feedback from something in the setup... unfortunately, due to how you use silence in your arrangement (which is a pretty well-executed technique) it really feels like a bit of a dealbreaker To sum it up, some very cool takes on certain themes, great soundscape/sound choices, and overall an interesting and mostly enjoyable listen, but I'm not really feeling like this would fare well on the judge's panel. Sorry.

AAAAWEEEEESSOOOOOOMMMMMEEEEE!! This project is awesome. I love every artist involved for what they've done with the sources. Before I listened to the album, I was familiar with, but not attached to any of the themes, but now I feel like I get an instant rush of nostalgia from them all whenever I hear 'em Trust me, this will be worth any wait you have to endure before the album comes out. Everyone involved did an amazing job! Godspeed, little project!

Sorry to hear bro Will you at least be able to look back over your old project file and copy/paste MIDI/automation data into your backed up project file? It sounds like if it's just the sound output on the corrupted file was borked, you could pretty easily recreate what you had... Mine and Ergo's song is recorded He did an amazing job with the arrangement that some of you might have heard on R:TS a while back (oops.) Totally breathed some new life into it. We might be adding sfx before we call it final, but other than that, this cake is baked Or something...

Love it No major complaints here, submit this and it should be an easy pass, even in light of the fact that it's pretty repetitive, you do enough to keep things varied and interesting. My only suggestion is to do something a bit more groovin' with the drums during the last repetition of the melody before the outro, the drumloop feels a bit boring compared to the rest of the song. Otherwise, solid production, cool adaptation of a neat theme... this is very slick However, I have to warn you that if you refuse to name your song "Fore on the Floor," then this song will have no chance whatsoever of passing the judges panel and this remix will be terrible as a result

Use the Compilation feature, just highlight all of your remixes, edit the info and, under the Options tab, there should be a field that says "Part of Compilation?" Select yes, and now all of your remixes will be neatly sorted as a compilation, so you can view them all in one place. As for the album name though, I thought the default album tag was "http://www.ocremix.org" for everything downloaded from the site?

Pretty tight remix here. It might be a little too close to the original, I think if this went to the judges panel it would probably boil down to a judgment call. On the one hand, it's pretty close to the source melodies and you don't vary it up a ton, but there's certainly plenty of adjustments that give this song its own unique character. It definitely feels Earthbound-y. I'm not really sure if this would pass, I'd have to think a while on it. However, I really enjoyed your take on the theme and think you should try submitting anyway if you feel like, just to see what happens. Good luck and thanks for sharing a cool mix!

So, I guess I should have done this a while ago, but I'd like to formally welcome Draconiator to the project. He's been with us for a long time, having contributed a bonus remix of Rocket Run, but now he's on board the album for reals with a collaboration with Flexstyle, who now joins Theophany and Zyko in the exclusive "4 remix club" They're gonna be tackling a straight-up trance remix of Frosty Frolics that I'm just falling in love with. As for the rest of you, THE DEADLINE IS IN 3 WEEKS! Where are you guys at? I haven't been getting very many status updates at all, and there's many of you who still don't have a checkmark by your name. I would really like to make it through this next deadline without having to cut anybody from the project, but come 2011 we're going to be really making a push to finish the project off, so if you want to be on the album, you NEED to get busy if you haven't already! We've got some things happening behind the scenes that will hopefully manifest in ways that we can share with you soon, in addition to what's going on with the music side of things. Until we're ready to share, keep up the activity! We like to see that people are still excited for the project, it keeps us moving! Cheers!

Wow, everytime you come out with a new remix it's impressive how you take it in a totally new direction, stylistically. Before I even get into hardcore critique mode, I've gotta say, this is a cool and enjoyable remix The intro to the track is pretty spotless as far as I can see. Sometimes it gets a little crowded in the midranges, you might consider cutting back on some of your synths a LITTLE bit, but not too much though. The mix is bright, chipper, and happy, and I like that Your mix does tend to be a little stagnant though, reusing a couple of transitions and pretty much sticking with the same synth lead for almost all of the song. There was one point where you diversified it by bringing a different countermelody synth into the mix, but at that point it just felt like your melodies were competing with each other. I'd suggest doing some searching for possible alternatives to your lead just to give the song some variation. Your piano toward the end, too, is just... really thin. You could try bypassing this with a bell/chime/music box sample that would fit the part well, or EQing your piano sample differently to give it a bit more body. Right now, it just sounds super-tinny, which is fine when it's surrounded by a bunch of other instruments/synths. However, in the outro, it's a lot more exposed and you can hear how thin the sample really is. Aside from that though, it's a great track and I think it could be OCR material for sure. Very smooth beat, flow, nice relaxed synth harmonies... you just need to work on your dynamics and variation throughout the remix, and possibly fixing up that piano sample. Nice work, though! Keep it up here, I like what you've got going!

What's this? Another WAV, finally!? It's been a while, but this one's a special one. It's one of the first WIPs that I received for the project and has always been one of my favorites, and the final version is just... unbelievable. I think you'll all be impressed with the finished album version - it's a crazy mashup of dubstep, ambient, and D&B styles that's almost 7 minutes long with very little repetition that can only be described as epic. Stay tuned for an ambient-only version that'll be featured on the album version, as well! I've also been told that there's been substantial progress on Cody's, zirc/tefnek's, and Prophecy's tracks, though I've yet to hear them. Hopefully they'll be coming along soon though!

Well, when I say "remixes that OCR likes" or something similar to that, I'm talking about how well they fit the submission standards not how well everyone on OCR will like the remix. A lot of times, judges have had to reject remixes that they openly adored because of issues like the one with your mix. It doesn't really have anything to do with OCR "liking" your remix, but rather how well it fits to the submission standards and the criteria they judge mixes on. Hey, sorry this one took me so long to get around to. Right off the bat, I see what Patrick is saying; it's an enjoyable remix that takes the source in a pretty cool direction. I'm getting a lot of Daft Punk vibes from the light, airy beat and generally laid-back soundscape. It feels a little empty to me, but I'm guessing that's just a stylistic thing. However, the repetition is a clincher that almost assuredly will keep this from passing the OCR panel If you either shorten the track a bit to cut down on some of the repetitiveness or re-arrange to vary it up a bit, it would probably be an easy pass... however, I'd suggest you just submit to Remix:ThaSauce, pimp it on Youtube/Soundcloud/whatever and just keep it as it is. It works just fine in its current form, I just don't think it's what OCR is looking for in an arrangement. Take this advice for what it's worth - great remix, but probably not OCR quality. You can submit anyway and see what happens though. I enjoyed listening regardless!

I really like just about everything about this remix; the live performances are absolutely beautiful and the simple bass groove coupled with the synths creates a deliciously smooth soundscape, but those drums... gah, they're just not jiving with me. I totally agree with Jill on this point: "I could totally imagine Brandon "Harmony" Bush or Doug "DrumUltimA" Perry on bongos!" THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN! I love this arrangement so much but the drums aren't doing it for me. I know it's rude to ask for fixes to a song after it's been posted and finished, but Jill's judge post got my mind racing about how awesome it would sound to hear this song with a more organic set of drums. Feel free to disregard this; I'll be keeping the song on my iPod regardless because it's absolutely beautiful... However, I'd just like to echo that wish to hear some tribal percussion on here.
