  1. Been PMing my wips to Rozo lately, but decided to go ahead and get on the project forums (I think it's been like a year since I logged on there) and post it. Check if out if you have a chance.
  2. Hey, yeah I got it. I was going to email you, but forgot. Thanks :)

  3. I've been meaning to review this, but keep putting it off. This is easily in the top 3 of my favorite songs from the album. OA really did a stellar job on it. I remember this song had an especially long development time as I think he has having nailing down exactly what he was hearing in his head. If I remember right, the initial version wasn't much more than just the (non-kit) drum patterns. OA did show me a bunch of versions of this song as it progressed. If anyone's curious as to how the title of the song came about, it came to the point where OA was really starting to bring the song together and incorporate the choir. I kept bugging him to share updates of the song and he'd always promise that he'd bounce a new version tomorrow. Many tomorrows later, the update would come through. Jokingly, I told him that he had to name it "Tomorrow", but Avaris came up with a much better play on it: "Fighting for Tomorrow". Anyway, it really was a pleasure getting a chance to collaborate on orchestra. I can't remember if OA asked me to or if I heard some parts in the song and offered to do it. I went for a heavy brass emphasis, which I hope fit well with the mood of the song. Overall, OA really did an excellent job seamlessly incorporating so many different elements (especially the choir!) into a single, cohesive mix. It's an excellent track that's only made better by how unique it is in its approach.
  4. Great arrangement of a very challenging source. I've heard several versions of this song as it was developing and it really has come a long way. Nice simple downtempo beats that still manage to stay interesting throughout. The most important thing here, I think, was establishing the right mood and I think OA nailed it. Great foreshadowing for the ending of the album with the tense/somewhat creepy feel to it. I really love the legato string run (shocking, huh?) that comes in around 1:14 that gives the piece some additional movement & diversity. I think DA was a great choice for vocals as her singing style seems to lend itself well to this genre. Great job guys.
  5. Well, what IS it set to currently? You pretty much have to have Asio4All set as your Input/Output device if you want to record live with decent latency.
  6. Congrats! Now you just need to get a GB demo on the sample CD
  7. Actually, I remember hearing this at some point as well. Not sure where, though.
  8. Are you talking about the master pitch slider on the top left, or the pitch slider in a single channel? For pitch bend range on a channel, it probably depends on the VST. Generally, however, there should be a setting to control the pitch bend range within the VST. Have you looked for that? I'm assuming you've done this, but have you checked the range on the "Plugin" tab of the channel window for the VST?
  9. Interesting project you're undertaking. Looking over your site, though, IMO you're really early in the process to be seeking out a musician/sound designer. Generally, once a project is pretty far along (and definitely on track for completion), you can look to bring aboard said person for that type of work. Good luck to you, though.
  10. The newest beta version of Audacity (1.3.7) technically supports VBR, but I haven't been very impressed by it yet. Even if you set the Variable speed as "Fast" it doesn't seem to vary bit rate very quickly at all and doesn't have a very wide range of rates it will hit throughout the render. This is one of the only things has kept me using my old version of Sound Forge still. You can try the Audacity beta to see if it works for you, though.
  11. My bad with the stickies, guys. I don't often play on the server (kind've off and on again player overall), so I wasn't familiar with the rules.
  12. Hey Halc, I've done some similar stuff to what you've linked to for a few years now on the side. Don't know all the terms exactly, but probably would include popping, locking, liquiding(?), floating/gliding/whatever, and tutting. Never really did anything with it, but it's a blast just to do for fun.

  14. EDIT Updated: http://cid-dda80e3cb135e034.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/GI%20Joe/GI%20Joe%20-%20Boss%5E_19.mp3 Started this one in response to a thread in Requests. Just having fun with it. EDIT: Original tracks:
  15. Sounds exactly like what happened to me quite a while back. Mine turned out to be a bad card (bad ram on the card, probably). If you want, you could get a program to underclock the video card settings, and then run artifact tests to see if they stop. This allowed me to use the card for quite a while longer without artifacts until I could get around to replacing it. If you are going to do it, I'd recommend lowering the clock by small increments, and then running artifact tests each time to see when they stop.

  17. To Kyle's credit, Main Theme and (to a lesser extent) Prelude were used in a lot of tracks in the album. Just an oversight on our part, I think.
  18. GI Joe boss theme is pretty catchy. I've started a mix of it.
  19. Thanks for the extended review, Otaku! I'm glad you enjoyed my music. Just a note, I collaborated with OA on Fighting for Tomorrow, not AF
  20. Bumping this thread since it's really getting old and I'd hate for it to vanish. This is the same template I used to create the song Into the Darkness on the FF4 project. So check that song out if you want to hear its potential.
  21. Thanks, dude, I appreciate it. As for your track, I actually only discovered it recently and find it extremely catchy. It's literally been in my head the past two days. I plan on reviewing it when it's posted on the front page (you did sub it, right?)
  22. So proud to be a part of all this. Everyone really did a great job in all aspects of the project. Props especially to OA for the huge amount of work he's done in music, administration, art, etc.
  23. No no, that's not the right site. Don't kill OA's bandwidth please :/
  24. I'm sure it's the same art. For the icons, I'm guessing the first one is OA, though I don't know the significance of the others.
