Usually you can get away with 70% speed at load and 30-40% speed at idle, use the temp measurements that rivatuner has to judge what speeds you need.

Agreed, if you aren't running 1900x1200 or above SLI isn't worth the money. If you run 1680x1050 like a normal person a single 4870 will play anything you want. Also: Vista is a RAM hog for a reason. It preloads programs into RAM, so they appear faster when you want them too. I seriously cannot see how this is a bad thing unless you do major CAD, music, or photoshopping and you need the RAM. Also also, WTF does it matter if your RAM is being used? What else is it there for, if not to be used? Otherwise its just taking up space and electricity for no reason.

Macs are PCs, so they last about as long as the effort you put into taking care of them.

I don't actually micspam myself you know, I just like listening to it while I play for some reason. If I want to play a SRS BSNS game Ill go to a non micspam server. Which for me is actually pretty much the OCR server.

The thermal sensors in the 45nm quads and dual cores are broken shit. They don't measure right, and the 50C you are getting is actually about 30-35C. Intel was notified of this, and their response was basically "LOL OOPS". So you have nothing to worry about, you'll know if it hits its thermal ceiling.

You might want to look into getting a rugged enclosure like that one and fill it with a higher capacity laptop drive, since they were designed with more rugged use in mind. This is far from the cheap option however.
