Happy Birthday DragonAvenger!
-
I've become interested in doing a mix on the Merry-go-round theme, however since I'm not terribly proud of my past works and I'd like to do better on this I won't be sending in an audition. If the project moves on without me getting any WIP's in then don't worry about it because I'll most likely be working slowly without any significant results. Or if anyone actually comes by and auditions for it of course I have no actual claim on it.

Oh wow, I do fail at math. Everything made sense to me at 3 AM, do the laws of math change over time?
-
That means it was just your birthday too, Happy Birthday!
-
Happy birthday, I pay my respects.

Better late then never they always say. However in this case it might be more insulting that you made it late then never bringing it up at all. But this is a time of celebration! Happy Late Birthday day DS!

Finally, I've been using the ogg files embedded into the games folders, but official OST is even better. I love the game and I love the music, support indie devs and buy it now! Whoah, I just listened through it, he changed it up a lot! For better or worse I'm not quite sure, but I do wish he would have looped some of the shorter songs at least once.

OCR TF2: New Server forthcoming - new server IPs and other stuff
Zephyr replied to Bahamut's topic in General Discussion
Nice, turned out better than I thought I definitely agree with making the logos gold, the bat looks a little shapeless, but that's ok. -
Opinions on something that I do...
Zephyr replied to BlackPanther's topic in Music Composition & Production
I do some minor stuff like that, but not "needs to be like this" If I tweak something then don't like it I can't just put it back to around it's original value, I need to actually reset it or it kinda bothers me. -
Offtop: Lately it's been really dead on the TF2 server Moondoggie, but we TRY to have an ocr night every saturday. I'm hoping that we can play some more TF2 sometime soon.

1. Confusing question... but yes you can definitely get by with just VST plugins, that's all a lot of people use around here, you may want to buy some fancy ones, but you can get by on just VST's. 2. It's pretty much plug and play, you put in the CD that comes with it and install the drivers and then you should be good to go. If you get a new soundcard/firebox you can use it as your audio device when using your keyboard, this will improve your latency. But you won't need to actually plug your keyboard into the soundcard.

Listening to Guitar as it's recorded - on a budget
Zephyr replied to The Pezman's topic in Music Composition & Production
Some can probably do it, while some can't. In FL you can choose to run inputs into a mixer channel and through recording and dsp, you could even record before DSP and after DSP. Or you could route it out to multiple outs and switch between different FX chains. All I know is FL though. -
Music needed for recently released iPhone game, 30 and Dirty

This would have been fun to do -
Probably Simple Automation Help
Zephyr replied to Grayburg's topic in Music Composition & Production
Simpler way: just change the tempo to what you want then right click > Init song with this position Now it'll default to that position instead. Alternatively you could go into the browser at Current Project>Automation>Initialized controls>Tempo and delete it. -
Very nicely done, I love the criss-cross design on the back.

*Sigh* I have no experience with such things, other than that I've heard over and over again about how you can easily get screwed by the medical world. Do you have health insurance? Alternatively you can move to Canada and not have to deal with the majority of that

jmr; always willing to sacrifice his education to entertain us. That seriously sucks that you got kicked out for it though, because it's pretty awesome.

I guess we've all got to pitch in and buy jewelry for willy.

Secret agent man: Unbind F5 from screenshot, bind it to "jpeg" instead. At least I'm pretty sure that's what it's called. I have it like this, saves them as jpegs instead. -
Drop the you, Had me at hello. Good Idea.

Wow, we fail at showing up at our planned OCR nights. Another failure. -

Everyone's up for it tonight? I'm really hoping to make it out. By the way Baha, the new server says that there's a new TF2 server at it's own IP address, may want to change that. -
One thing that I just noticed here with the announcement of Live 8 is that even though FL continues to get new versions, they don't really do any huge changes like the other companies do. Maybe they have a new integrated plugin or changed the coding on something or other, but they don't need to do anything awesome because they don't need to convince their audience to upgrade, the upgrade is free. Without the need to look impressive with each new version the updates tend to be minor, uninspiring, and unimpressive at the time. However each update slowly builds up a stronger workstation. For example Edison was a fairly large update but really it's just a plugin for working with .wav's, they updated the slicer with slicex, which was a moderate upgrade in that area, slowly it's getting better, but without any facebreaking advertisements of groundbreaking new software.

Do it, seriously! It's comparing apples to oranges, and we've all got the program we're using now anyways, so arguing is pointless but I've actually learned a lot about ableton from the topic. I think I'm gonna reinstall ableton live lite right now and give it another quick twice over.
