Yup, go with the orange box, I didn't and I regret it as I went out and ended up having to collect each part of it individually. And I at first wanted the box just so I had something physical in case steam messed with me, but now I see that I really don't need it.

Swap your headphones around. Okay, so I seriously I don't know what to do... -
I absolutely love steam, it's a great idea and I firmly believe that all PC games should run through steam. It organizes all updates, has a great in-game friend system, you don't need any physical copies for games that you need to worry about, easy to get mods and demos and such. Also, I love not needing to hunt down, download, and install every new patch that comes out, it does that for all of your games automatically. It's downloading system is streamlined and the ability to easily pause downloads is great. In other words, big fat YES.

ARGH, but uber lol, Hoboka, you and me have tied in every compo that I've entered so far. Chalk up another one. Nice mixes everyone, I've been noticing I'm a little harsh on the high frequencies, thanks for pointing that out. -
I can't stop thinking this is some sort of portal reference even though I know it isn't.

Also out of curiousity, what exactly did you sprite in that video? Looks like just stock sprites to me. -

I'd definitely assume so, you're on the forum, you play on the server, and you know the password now anyways. See you there. -
^ I absolutely love that series, all three of them are great.

demo only for pre-orderers... -
My first recommendation would be to try the piano roll for a bit, even if you can't see things in a sheet music perspective, I don't really find it to be a problem (and yes, I'm taking theory courses too) It can even outline the notes that fit the key if you want it too (it automatically scans the notes and decides the key you're playing in, if it can.) I love the piano roll. However, speaking of different meters, it's semi difficult to do complex meters in FL Studio, however it is definitely possible. Good luck!

^ what he said, check the soundcard options.

Help with music for Metroid Remake

Illegal? Yes, did you not know that stealing someone else's concept, story, characters, and game engine was illegal? The thing is that no-one really cares a lot of the time if it's not a commercial product. As for hiring someone, YES it costs money, people do not do work for free unless they're really interested or do it for a hobby, so if you want someone to help out for free (which is also quite possible) ask for "Volunteers" or something, if you call it hiring, then they'll want $$. It's not as easy as you think to do good music. It takes time and practice. As for being "very far into development of the game" I'd disagree if that video is the latest that you've got. You don't have a background, or levels, or enemies, and the engine seems really slow and glitchy. Good luck anyways though. -
Atmospheric Music in Video Games
Zephyr replied to SynthesizedStampede's topic in General Discussion
Shadow of the Colossus PERIOD. Also a lot of Zelda stuff such as the field theme (TP), makes you feel like an adventurer even if it's not "atmospheric". -
I just checked and as far as I can tell, you can't save samples as .REX in FL Studio, Slicex, or Edison. You can use existing .REX files or save .WAV with regions.

As per commercial I was thinking more along the lines that it would be completely illegal... but anyways, you haven't told us how serious you are about learning how to make music. -

I went where the people went, it was a great opening night, lots of fun. I honestly don't care about any of these rule/admin disputes, I just want to play the game. And it just so happened that the people where in rise last night, if they're in OCR tonight then I'll play there. -

I'm afraid you can't just "pick up" remixing because you need a few songs for a project, and be really good at it. You need to be very interested in it to succeed. You might be better off just hiring someone or something. And I'm really hoping you weren't planning to make this a commercial product were you? However if you really are interested in doing this, post some specific topics in the Remixing board (which is actually where I figure this thread should probably go) Edit: oh, it is in the Remixing forum. CURSE YOU QUICK MODS! -
No-one in my city is carrying it right now... or did it get delayed or something?
