  1. Truth be told, I just added it to my inventory lol YAY!
  2. Hey Archangel,

This is Derek Oren here, just wanted to give you a shout out about your piece "Dragon Wings". Very beautiful, I'm really impressed with your sequencing and arranging capabilities. Would love to work with you someday. Anyways Happy Holidays and take care.

    -Derek-

  3. I agree a lot of the music that climbs the charts these days suck. No creativity, just plain stupid. But you put some sexy clothes on a guy or a girl, make some good one liners in the song, put a beat to it 12 year old girls start to scream and then it becomes popular and you hear it on the radio all the time. (Wow that was a long sentence! Grammar anyone?) There are still some diamonds in the rough on the pop charts these days but again most of it is garbage. If Shostakovich or Vaughn Williams was on the radio, now that would be epic
  4. Any word yet on when the new kickstarter will be launched?
  5. I donated, no gripe here, my credit card was never charged. To my understanding nobody got charged for their pledge so I don't understand that comment. Derek
  6. The only position I would be useful in would be a judge of Orchestral/Symphonic music. I believe that type of a position is held for users with a bit more tenure than I, but nevertheless I wanted to put it out there. I've actually been thinking about it for awhile now. Thanks, -Derek-
  7. This is indeed great news! I'm very happy to hear that we're now able to restart the Kickstart I have a hunch that most of the people will pledge again granted the deals are still the same. I'm sure that update will come shortly. Thank you OCR staff for showing your character and patience in this matter. Now lets get this thing done! -Derek
  8. Meteo Xavier;877420 Solution? Take in more volunteer staff members. I agree with that but I feel as though the bottleneck is judging and OCR is not going to trust just anyone with that responsiblity. Now if these pieces from 2 and 3 year ago have already been judged and approved, then yes I see the issue. -Derek-
  9. Believe me, you're not the first person to tell about how crappy the response time is for Kickstarter customer support. It's the even-flow around there man. I'll hope they'll get back to you some time this century.
  10. I've been remixing FF6 music since I was 14, so 1994. Can anyone beat that?
  11. Yes it's ashame that the kickstarter is on hold and may very well be shutdown indefinitely. But regardless of the fundraising effort, the music will be released on schedule. So at least that will happen on time. -Derek
  12. We were too successful, go figure. Well if anyone can reason with them it's the crew here at OCR. I'm sure we'll figure something out.
  13. At this point wouldn't it just be easier to start another fund raiser but this time do it thorugh the traditional venues that OCR has always done? At least people are aware now. That way stupid kickstarter and their crappy customer service go bye bye and then people can donate directly to OCR. That works right? -Derek
  14. I agree with Lion here. As a fellow remixer I would like to think that the music I've contributed to site adds different twists to the original themes. I agree that some remixes are better than others but the roots of failure lay in the seeds of comparison. It's so easy to post whatever you want to say on the internet. I think that in this case we can say that someone was just having a bad day and decided to take it out on OCRemix. I'm excited about this project, I don't care what anyone says, numbers speak volumes to how people really feel about this. -Derek
  15. i'd like to listen to your Throne Reborn track. i don't know which one it is, do you have a direct link to it?
  16. make sure you give them a PO box for you address. I wouldn't give out my mailing address to anyone like this.
  17. The movement isn't "lost" It just never got submitted to OCR because it was never officially finished. But it's on my website http://www.soundclick.com/orenproductions I hope that helps, -Derek-
  18. So things have been slow going the last few weeks. Thats mostly due to Skyrim .. Sorry, it's an awesome game. But now I'm getting back into the sampling mood and will now rally to attempt to finish this monster. Stick with me people, I WILL get this finished. And if my hunch is correct, it will be accepted by the judge team. (Hopefully) -Derek
  19. It's going to be a play on that name, but since it deals with Kefka's "Tower" we're calling it Towermarsch.
  20. Hello! So there have been some updates with the piece. I'm now working on the woodwinds, which are a lot easier than the brass and strings so it shouldn't take long to complete them. Also Jeremy and I have decided on a name for the piece. It will officially be named "Towermarsch" This is an estimation but I believe the piece will be finished or very near finished by the end of the month. I'm getting excited! -Derek
  21. Hello! Ok so I'm going back to the weekly updates. I've gotten the strings for the 1st half complete. I'm now moving on to woodwinds. Once I've gotten the entire 1st half complete then I will post another demo. I suspect that will be in about a month or so. Thanks -Derek-
  22. The demo is up if you want to listen :) sorry for the delay.

  23. Thanks for the plug. Hollywood Strings and Hollywood Brass, both Diamond Edition were used on this piece. This is a very small section of music but exciting. The reason this section were used was because we wanted to highlight the brass swells in the first section and the string runs in the second section. Both of these highlights have been difficult in the past to emulate. Now with these new libraries we can make them sound very realistic. The piece is full of both brass swells and string runs. Hopefully Jeremy and I will get some feedback here, we both want to know if we're on the right track.
  24. So I'm sorry that I haven't posted an update in a while, totally my bad. But to make up for it the "Teaser Demo" is ready!! This demo is about a minute long, 1/12 of the actual piece This passage highlights the dungeon theme with classical referrences. Please keep in mind that the percussion and the woodwinds aren't sampled yet, they're softsynth right now. You won't hear much of them in this demo but I wanted to mention it. So without further delay, Happy New Year OCRemix and enjoy!!! Cantata For Dancing IV Teaser Demo
  25. In my update this week I wanted to give you all some information. Just so you all know this piece is all instrumental. There will be no additions of a choir with this one. Jeremy and I thought you all should know this as the previous movements had a choir. I will say however that if you appreciate Final Fantasy VI and you love powerful and expressive pieces of music, you will enjoy this piece. I plan on posting a demo next week. -Derek-
