    We're nearing completion of this movement. The final product should be finally complete within 2 weeks. I just need to sample the choir. If anyone is interested in hearing a demo of just the instrumentation let me know. The complete run time is 7:20 ... it's a long one Cheers, -Derek-

    I was very impressed with this piece. Not so much for the originality but for the smart use of samples especially in the string category. The solo violin sounds just about as real as EWQLSO will allow. Song was good. Sampling and production awesomeness! -Derek-

    Yeah the 1st half was difficult with samples. I'm still trying to focus my talents in that area. It's definitely the hardest area to sample in.

    Thanks for your comment. If you read Jeremy's rundown in the summary you'll see that we didn't transition it on purpose. It was suppose to feel like the end of the piece after the first half. Hence the "Deception" in the title. -Derek-

    Wanted to give a HQ link right away. I'm excited that it's finally posted. There will be a small update coming shortly because of a little glitch in the audio that I heard after submission. You probably won't hear it but I do Anyways enjoy!! EDIT: HQ Fixed! Devotion & Deception HQ

    I liked the drums and percussion. The brass and strings were a little thin, and not much reverb which it needed. Some attacks weren't accented enough IMO but other than that I'd say nice job. -Derek-

    Thanks for your input. The song has already been accepted as is so we can't change the title now. But if we do another FF8 piece (which we may) then we'll consider those. Thanks again.

    Music that is listed as Classical can be orchestral, symphonic, chamber style, etc.. Classical is the umbrella word but orchestral is anything with an orchestra so that would also be correct.

    Great news! Devotion & Deception got a conditional yes on the panel so it's gonna be posted. I have to increase the volume in the 2nd half and we're good to go. So look for it soon!!! -Derek-

    I agree that you should start small. And also get firmiliar with audio design because no matter how good of a sampler you are, if you're not firmiliar with sound forge, acid, etc.. (mastering tools) you won't get much of anywhere. If you have any questions you can ask me. -Derek-

It addresses the volume problem (mostly) It's still a little quiet but it has to be because of the wide range of dynamics.     there was only one voice in that take that was actually real and from Liberi Fatali, the rest was ewql symphonic choirs. Actually I made a very realistic take without any voices from the original but Jeremy and I decided it couldn't hurt to include the real thing. It really came together nicely. And thank you for the compliment. -Derek-

    Well finally after months and months of waiting, the resub for Devotion and Deception has hit the panel. It will probably be another month or so before it gets voted on but at least it's up there now. That made my day
