  1. It's looking like I won't be able to pledge.. bummer. Hope you reach the goal! I'll have to grab it later. I at least tweeted the link to all my 23 followers. --Eino
  2. I've heard that putting the exercise bike in front of the TV is effective. Watch series and game while working out. Sounded like a good tip, haven't tried mysel. --Eino
  3. I decided to sleep instead. Sleep is good. Then I realized, there's still time until about six in Monday morning here. So plenty of time still! --Eino
  4. Sounds like a fantastic idea. I'd print some for myself. --Eino
  5. I like how the beat & bass pushes this forwards relentlessly. Very enjoyable. I'll see if I can post a bit more feedback later, got to run now. But I did just listen to this about 10 times on the background, it's good. --Eino
  6. I keep enjoying this piece. Somehow, the harmony of the bass sounded not quite right at 1:19-1:23. I don't hear anything wrong with it if I listen to it separately, but if I listen from the start it jumps at me. I don't think I heard anything "wrong" in the similar sections later in the piece. I really like the slight adjustment to chord progression/bass line towards the end of the track, from 3:25 onwards. Also the drowning effect is really funny to me in the end, especially with the MM death SFX. Rozovian's subtle bitchrush-automation idea definitely sounds it's worth trying out. --Eino
  7. I enjoyed listening to this quite a bit. Like I said, I really like the high energy in the Hyperspace section, and the shift to half tempo in the Tyrian section is quite cool. Harmony-wise I thought the transition was a little awkward, as the pieces are in different modes (maybe just major vs minor?) or something and the transition plays them together for some time. (It's not that uncommon to hear this in DJ sets and it always bothers me ) The two sections feel quite separate as compositions, like two pieces that are segued together. This might well be a problem if you are planning to submit this to OCR according to the standards, but apart from the harmony in the transition, it didn't detract from the listening enjoyment. Also re: OCR standars is that the hyperspace section felt pretty close to the original, and the panel might be looking for more reinterpretation. Don't know about the Tyrian part since I'm not nearly as familiar with the sources, but I'll say that the sources must have fit together well (or you have fitted them together well), since I couldn't really tell there were two sources. The only other crits that I have is that the brass synth to the left that starts at 1:30 has awkward timing, and the old school tracker-sounding lead starting at 4:59 was a bit upfront and dry in the mix. Good work! --Eino
  8. Oh, I probably sounded like I was whining about it. I just meant it was funny I didn't notice until now. Marrying 3/4 and 4/4 shouldn't be hard, plus it's like reinterpretation for free. --Eino
  9. I only just now realized Hope's theme and Lulu's theme are in different time signatures.. well, I still haven't done any work on my piece, I would have realized earlier if I had. I have an oomphton of course work.. --Eino
  10. I'm not really one to say, but my mother-in-law has one that looks like that and I trust she picked something that plays well. Felt ok to me though I'm not really a piano player. --Eino
  11. I have the basic idea in my head for my piece, but I don't know when I'll get the time to sit down with it. Will do something at least though. I'd really like to put together a decent competition to that guy with 44 mix posts, so I hope can I get a good number of hours down. Also thanks! For the review Garpo! Good observations in there! Brandon! You used too much commas! To emulate! This writing style! --Eino
  12. Those were good interviews, certainly worth watching/listening. It was interesting to hear what Kate had to say, as a ReMixer who does everything live. Also I really really enjoy coda's music (I have tracer and Alter Ego: Dreamwalker soundtrack, both very good) so it was interesting to learn a bit about the guy himself. All that tracker talk was quite interesting for me, as I use a tracker myself. Especially fun to hear was he had a brush with trackers early on out of necessity & then getting back to that via chiptune scene and stuff.. That was a cool story. --Eino
  13. I'm not sure what I'll do, and recording can be awkward, not sure if I have the possibility. So I'd rather not commit to that. Cool thought though!

  14. The music preview is quite superb. It came up on random and it keeps grabbing my attention. Seem to hit quite a lot of buttons with stuff I like about RPG soundtracks. --Eino
  15. Happy birthday! Everyone, check out this dude's excellent stuff on Temporal Duality, and all over the place. Not to mention this album. --Eino
  16. Looking forward to everyone's entries! I sadly don't have the time to put together proper reviews.. it's actually quite demanding to listen enough for voting as well (looking at source usage, especially), I feel like I shouldn't even be voting as it is. But I certainly like to listen to everyone's pieces! --Eino
  17. Solid concept. I know some Snatcher fans who'll be happy when this comes out! Good luck! --Eino
  18. Ah! We did a school trip to Budapest for a week some ten years ago. I remember a waiter who spoke excellent Finnish. I also accidentally said "jó" a lot since "joo" means yes in Finnish. Anyway! I don't know if there are practical similarities. I'll try to get to that translation..

  19. I'll so get this, when I have some eurobucks to contribute. I sincerely hope the game will pull through. --Eino
  20. Trism, I really liked when everything else pulled back except the piano, and the came back; it was a great hook. --Eino
  21. I didn't have the moment to vote, unfortunately, but a double source round is usually a good change in the pace! --Eino
