  1. I can tell you from past experience that the OCR Block isn't something that really gets commented or expounded on regularly. Everyone who reserves a room in their name just fills out the extra form to get in the block, and then in December, the MAGFest hotel liaison will contact the block organizer with a list of people who asked to be in that block to confirm everything looks right. Organizer replies back with a yes/no (along with any last minute additions), then the liaison sends the final list to the hotel, then the hotel puts all those rooms on the same stretch of hallways. The block organizer does very little.
  2. Man, all those little changes really do put some life into this. Now I see what you meant way back when. Just wanted to point out that "beyond the sunset" was in quotes because that was a direct quote from Vyse in the game. You two can keep or ditch that as you please.
  3. Forgot to mention, but this book arrived from Amazon a few days ago. I'm reading through it and so haven't actually started the Whole 30 yet. I can already tell it's going to be tough to handle, but I can definitely see the benefits from what I'm reading, so I'm looking forward to the challenge once I'm ready to start it.
  4. Considering what all is involved in making an OCR album, I'd guess serious discussion about something like this is a waste of time until 2015, when the game is near release and there's actually a significant amount of music to go on.
  5. Admittedly I always 100% when I play Zelda games, but still, my last Skyward Sword run was 40 hours or so. I'll be watching this marathon for sure, just to see in person how utterly ridiculous that one's gonna have to be.
  6. Thanks for the advice Joe; that's really helpful! I'm gonna be honest, I've not been eating healthy for a while. Way too much fast food. I still have to keep obvious track of my diet, because even eating significantly healthier could involve eating things such as what you mention that wouldn't necessarily get rid of the weight, but I get the feeling that by exercising and quitting McDonalds cold turkey, that would at least guarantee some weight loss. Even if I switched primarily to canned soups (which is not the plan; I'm learning how to cook in general as I go through this whole process), just not eating, well, shit would help a lot.
  7. Currently 40lbs. overweight for my body type. Bought an exercise bike on Monday, put it together in my room. I can't handle anything more than 15 minute biking runs at a time (less because of how tiring it is, more because of faint twitches in my left calf after I bike that long, so I'm taking it slow for now), but I'm happy to be actively exercising, something I've never really done with any level of commitment before. I'll create an account for that Fitocracy group when I get a spare moment at work today.
  8. I don't really need a physical, but I splurged for it anyway. More chiptune goodness from Jimmy is never a bad thing. I still listen to Impostor Nostalgia in full once every few weeks, and I've made several new friends as a result of it.
  9. That original stuff you've got there is great; I feel pretty solid with your claim for Smithy. I'll go ahead and put you down for that.
  10. Been forever since this has been updated, but now that some of the original timing issues are out of the way, it's time to buckle down and get some claims in. Anyone who's still interested, take a look at the OP post! The claims list there is now up to date as of this post. MC Final Sigma: Impressive stuff. If you're still on board to rap for anyone who needs it, that's perfectly fine with me. Mark Stothard: Geno's still available. Do you have any previous work you can link so I can hear your style?
  11. I had my issues with some of the decisions he was making near the end, but the NES wouldn't exist if not for him, and man, did that system shape my entire life. Even the stratospheric success of the Wii can be traced back to him, since the impetus for it came directly from what Nintendo did with the DS, which he came up with the initial ideas for. So yeah, mad respect. R.I.P.
  12. I'd actually been poking in the Vyse bio for the last two weeks but have been unable to do more than change a single word here and there and don't feel my efforts are leading towards any good. So Dafydd, if you want to finish it off for me as it looks like you are, I'd greatly appreciate your help, and I apologize to both of you that I dropped out of contact for so long. I just wanted to point out here that Fina's part of the adventure is specifically her mission as given to her by her people, and is well aware of facts about the areas they're going to that Vyse and Aika have never seen, so she's not excited about the destinations persay. She is, however, a very sheltered woman who has found her first true friends in Vyse and Aika, and so is generally happy and relatively excited about the idea of traveling with them. Just so you two know for context if that changes how you want to word this.
  13. Yep, that's me. As far as "community I hang out with the most online and in RL", I transferred over to these parts about 7 or 8 years ago. Thanks a bunch for that. Yeah, that was a really liberal arrangement alright, but with the breakdown sitting in front of me, I was able to pick out enough of the source that I now feel comfortable voting for this in my top 3 this week.
  14. Shadix, I actually felt very odd when listening to your track, because your attempt was amazing... you totally nailed that PSO feel! But on the other side of the coin, I couldn't actually hear the source tunes anywhere in there. Maybe I'm just not listening hard enough? You don't have a break down handy, do you?
  15. IIRC, cases where an album is in the album listings are so that info about the album (as well as the album cover art) can appear in a writeup when a song from that album is posted. But if doesn't have an OCRA number (or OCRO if it's an original album rather than a remix album), then that's because yes, the album wasn't released as an official OCR project. Heavy Troopa is an example, where the album was put together outside the community and one of the artists just happened to sub his track.
  16. Man, if I still wrote fanfiction, I'd totally write fanfic of this year's gauntlet.
  17. http://www.reddit.com/r/3DS/comments/1k0g58/setting_up_a_streetpass_relay_at_home/ - Can't believe people figured this out already.
  18. As a big FFVIII fan, that song just put the stupidest bigass smile on my face. Great job to all involved.
  19. http://ocremix.org/info/Frequently_Asked_Questions#Why_have_some_songs_been_removed.3F - This will explain that for you.
  20. Interesting that this song uses the exact same sample as . I wonder which came first/if one's clearly ripping off the other/etc. The latter clearly has nothing to do with video games besides the sample though.
  21. Warning for anyone actually attending the entire con as opposed to just the day of the OCR panel: Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z are playing a concert that Thursday night at M&T. Baltimore's traffic is already stupid, but expect it to turn insane! Have fun picking your tickets up from pre-reg. :E
  22. Scarab beetles on the regular trees are also nice for cash when you see them, but they and the rainbow stags are it. Like you say, palm trees all the way. Also, sharks. The most expensive beetle sells for 3000 less than the least expensive shark. Always get sharks.
  23. I actually bought very little this time around. I just picked up Scribblenauts Unlimited, The Last Remnant, and two copies of Rogue Legacy, and that was it. RL's gonna keep me busy for a long time to come though.
  24. This man speaks wisdom. That said, go for the GCN port if possible. Slightly worse sound quality on the music, but the random encounter rate won't make you punch a wall like on the Dreamcast version.
