Is there any daw out there that can do pitch to midi editing on the fly using the voice to compose instead of a keyboard? That would be pretty sick. It seems like that would be a huge time saver. Of course if you are better at keys than singing... heh. Just an idea I had because most everyone can sing by ear, and not too many people can play piano by ear (that is they know what the note is going to sound like before they hit it). And maybe it could be used to work with other instruments besides the voice too. I think finale and sibelius might use the feature, but they aren't daws. Just curious like a cat thanks

Is there any way to draw in events without the whole right side of everything moving? This isn't a big deal because I can zoom in and move it back to the 0 line. Just sort of annoying, and I would like to know if there were a faster way. Apart from using an automation clip that is.

The snares do feel a bit weird. I want to hear what it sounds like when you reverse the audio, add reverb tails, then reverse again to emphasize them coming in on non standard places. Could you try this for me?

Thanks a bunch. The orchestral hits I've found sound too brassy without enough string stuff. I have had some trouble coming up with something that sounds like a string hit. It also sounds like there may be an anvil hit or something layered in with the string hit.

Send the audio you want the effects on out to the keyboard, then send it back in to FL from the keyboard?

Practice already made songs that you like while doing a little technique work on the side eg alternate picking, sweep picking, hammer/pull offs, bends, etc.

Also I would prefer to have a trem if it didn't go out of tune. Otherwise I don't want that piece of crap funking over the guitar. So the ibanez prestige trems are pretty reliable? Even these new ball bearing Z trems instead of the knife edges? Thanks again. Oh one more thing - I like to tune down to Drop C and other metal tunings. Would I be able to do this on a trem guitar without too much of a hassle? Is there anything apart from putting in another trem spring to handle the thicker gauge that I have to worry about (eg the bridge/nut string holes not handling thicker gauges say 11-52 or w/e)?

As far as I know, notation programs excel at making readable, professional looking printed music. DAWs excel at making the music sound good. I don't think there is a program that can do both. Some DAWs have ok notation built in, and some notation programs have VST capability built in.

I was considering getting a new guitar because my current one is more or less a piece of junk. Although it is still useful, I feel that it is about the right time to upgrade to a better guitar. This one constantly needs retuning and the action is too high, 3mm at the 12 fret. The action any lower causes fret buzz. I guess because of uneven frets. It is a Samick Malibu MB-50MBS and I think it was $350. Maybe a fret replacement/Neck fixup would be a better option financially? My budget is ~$700 I play Children of Bodom, Sonata Arctica, Dream Theater, metal stuff like that. I am going to the guitar store to try some models out, but I would also like your advice too!! **I do not want a tremolo system because it seems to jack the price of guitars way up, and I do not feel that a tremolo is necessary for the majority of musical concepts. Although it really does enhance the music I think - at least metal stuff. O well I don't want one unless I can get it for ~$700. Not a licensed piece of crap bridge. Going out of tune makes it completely worthless. I would be willing to spend a little bit more if that's what a good guitar costed. Anywho, please help me out **possibly may go with tremolo if it is in the price range. I am probably wrong, but I think A guitar under $700 with a tremolo won't be very good.

What advantage does guitar to usb offer over plugging it straight into the rca jack?

What are the keys like on that keyboard? I have an M-audio pro88 right now with "Hammer action" right now and it leaves a little something to be desired. It's not bad for $300 though. I have never played on a synth action keyboard. What does it feel like? Is there some give to the keys, like a loose jello feel or do the keys feel plastic and toylike?

holy cow 220mb. How long is it? Maybe you should use Divx or something that will make it small and use a high audio bitrate along with it. I think it is called Divx. Divx is the one that is good for compressing videos where a lot of the movie frames are similiar I think (eg tutorials). Maybe it was called Xvid. I can't remember.
