  1. Well, if I didn't have to go through my parents' credit card, I'd definitely do it fo'sho. Unless he's willing to give out his mailing address to a perfect stranger on the internet so I could mail him a $10 bill.
  2. Was that sarcasm? Or maybe not? Because I'd definitely enlist his aid if you were joking about him charging me.
  3. It's nice having someone appreciate a joke I make because normally they just call the cops.
  4. Is that actually in the game? OMG IZAK 4 BRAWL LOL ... Yes, I know the list's already decided.
  5. I'm working on a mix of Luigi's Mansion and since I don't have the full version of FL, when my computer's battery died, my progress died with it. I can throw together a zip file with the midi, all the soundfonts, and my most recent mp3 for reference if anyone's interested. Of course, you'll be credited.
  6. That's probably true. I replaced all of Jekyll's potion with prune juice.
  7. I think I'm the youngest person here... I turn 16 in 2 months. Ugh. Happy belated birthday! Technically, it's my mom's birthday today, but only technically since it's 2AM! Sorry I missed it... guy.
  8. I wonder if it's possible to do custom Rock Band songs.
  9. Okay, let's see here. *click* Sounds like it's meant to be the backup to a rap song. That's probably a direction you could take with it if you wanted... I'd suggest picking a less harsh clap, and maybe another instrument in the very front if THAT'S what you're gonna do. Maybe boost the volume of the bass. It's definitely repetitive... and it sort of ends. I'd like a bit more information as to what it's gonna be like when you're done. A verbal description is plenty if you don't have any more audio done.
  10. My first friggin' sucked. It was an appallingly bad piece I wrote 2 to 4 years ago... You should still be willing to suffer through a minute and 15 seconds or whatever. I suggest listening to it using the fonts that come standard with Windows Media Player a couple years ago, because the it sounds even more hideously terrible in Winamp and Quicktime. http://freewebs.com/shmmusic/ntranced.mid
  11. The recording isn't very good. Dang, I hate to say this, but the entire thing is pretty bad. The timing is off, but you're gonna address it. It's basically a cover with bad guitars. The first REALLY WHAMMIED part is really off-key. It sounds like your rhythm guitar doesn't even have any musical quality to it. It's just a rhythm guitar sound without notes... if you understand what I mean. I say go back to the drawing board. The song certainly lends itself to rock, but don't make it a cover and practice your guitar playing.
  12. Whoo! View # 600. I'm using the trial version of FL. However, it decided to quit on me so I lost my progress (and so much progress it was) and I'll basically have to start over GO ME! Just a little update...
  13. It's hard to not be authentic when you're using live instruments....
  14. Whenever I try to change the volume level on a note, it stays constant. How do I add a crescendo or decrescendo? Thanks!
  15. freewebs.com/gbawesome/lm5.mp3 Man, I wasn't messing around when I said "soon". What do you think? Ignore the stuff off the top and bottom; my computer does that sometimes. What needs doing?
  16. I really like how it sounds. You unknowingly changed the vox like I asked! The xylophones sound much more clock-like now. At 2:28, I'm not quite sure I like the sustained harpsichord or what have you. The other instances after it sound good, but the notes are very... amelodic. Nice clock percussion around 3:30. The string ensemble sounds great. At 4:35 you build up some nice tension with the clock, but after you bring in the woodwinds at 4:46 the strings aren't enough of a presence anymore. They're a little too quiet. The ending... sounds good, but I agree with the others. Maybe keep the xylophones where they are for 1 repetition and then double-time them and put something with a sense of urgency to it. It certainly SOUNDS like death, but in the game, the people aren't going to die lying in a hospital bed and flat-lining, they're going to be crushed by the moon. Some high strings and some big-sounding brass at the end might be what you're looking for.
  17. Best suggestions ever. Everybody gets glowing mentions in the writeup. I'm still holding out for a live guitar player. In the MIDI, the toms (UGH! I know exactly what you mean) were snares and that was supposed to be a drum roll. I'll come up with something to vary the melody a little, since it plays 4 times in a 90-second song and I know that's not exactly pleasant. And I had an idea for how I could make the transition a bit gentler. I'd have the voices hold the note until the end, but I'd have the guitar playing the same note speeding up until it gets to 16ths at 150 bpm [Y/N]? EDIT: Argh! I sound so sarcastic! I swear I actually DO think his suggestions are really helping me and I WILL thank you all in the writeup if this gets accepted. FURTHER EDIT: Okay, I'm gonna put a bass over the drums and lighten the bass. I changed the god-awful toms (how the hell does a soundfont maker get away with using toms to occupy the space snares do in General MIDI?) to drums. You think grace notes could improve the violin that much? I'm gonna try it. For the problem of the lack of a higher frequency, I put (past tense, baby! BOOYA!) another violin on top of the one already in the song and then transposed it up an octave. Expect revised version soon.
  18. freewebs.com/gbawesome/lm4.mp3 Well, I worked the whistle into what might be a non-terrible theremin. I added a touch of overdrive to the clarinet. I made the drums sound better.....
  19. Dammit, there's already a DDR thread? Oh well... Me playing Flash in the Night on 1.4 speed. I've gotten better. And also, was that on the keyboard or the pad?
  20. I hereby dedicate this thread to the discussion of Stepmania, including BUT NOT LIMITED TO simfile creation and video sharing. Aww, yeah.
  21. Was that an offer to play guitar for me? Because if so, thank you very very much! You're amazing! And also, I don't mind if it's picked. Now that I realize it, strumming in one direction THAT FAST is indeed basically impossible.
