  1. My sisters saw the movie without me. They said it was awesome.
  2. Well, according to my sig, I seem to be playing this game. It is undoubtedly fantastic! I'm almost to world 7, now. If I had to guess how many problems waggle has caused, I'd say...10 times. I've either gotten hurt or killed 10 different times during this playthrough. And that's counting the "K" levels, and every attempt I've made for all KONG letters and puzzle pieces. The complaints are understandable, but they're definitely overblown. They're not a deal breaker, by any means. This game definitely surpassed my expectations (the ones I mentioned here a couple weeks ago). DKCR is definitely better than DKC1. At the moment, I'd say it's greater than or equal to DKC3 (in other words, it's the second banana, right behind my all-time favorite of DKC2). I'm really enjoying my time with the game, whether I play by myself, or with my sister tagging along as Diddy. I'm gonna take my sweet time with this game, it's a masterpiece!
  3. I never would have guessed this movie was going to be any good. It seemed cliche in the trailers. At the very least, I'll be watching the DVD for this one.
  4. This is a mash-up of the music from Tallon IV in Metroid Prime, and Stickerbush Symphony from Donkey Kong Country 2. (Not my work, obviously.) I haven't found something that compliments the other so well since I tasted chocolate and peanut butter together. Listen to that percussion. It's a perfect harmony!
  5. Using the tunnels in the single player can cause a glitch that permanently wreaks the entire playthrough, forcing you to start over from the beginning. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5251069024/m/8461039398
  6. About Sonic Colors... Can anyone honestly tell me that a game that blatantly copies elements of Super Mario Galaxy, and was specifically developed for 6 to 12 year old children is worth the time of an average college student like me? I have plenty of good games begging for my time. I'm not going to make time for Sonic Colors unless it's really worth it.
  7. I'm staying away from this until the Tunnel Glitch is dealt with. I hope that's soon. I'm playing AC2 right now, for the first time, and I can't wait to continue Ezio and Desmond's story.
  8. Did you guys really hope or expect DKCR to be greater than or equal to DKC2 in music, level design, characters or...anything besides graphics? Some people have their expectations set way too high. You just can't get better than the best. My expectations are that this game surpasses DKC1...maybe. Much lower expectations on my part, and much less disappointment awaits me. I'll check the controls personally before I say anything else about them.
  9. Although I have yet to play this awesome-looking game, what's the problem with waggle? New Super Mario Bros. Wii AND Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 did just fine with it. An option for different controls would've been nice, but can't we just adapt?
  10. I stopped caring about Sony's handheld offerings eons ago. An extra control nub and a stupid-looking, pointless touchpad on the back isn't going to change that. When Sony starts making good handheld software, maybe I'll give it a passing glance. Until then, I'll continue to await the glorious 3DS and its mouth-watering list of upcoming software.
  11. I did. How does that change the fact that Mega Man classic was in the first 2 games? Besides that, Mega Man has made a glorious return to modern gaming (in a retro way), and is gonna be in the upcoming Mega Man Universe. It would be in Capcom's benefit to put Mega Man back in MvC.
  12. So, he's in the first 2 games, but not the highly anticipated sequel? That wouldn't make sense. But if that does happen, for some strange reason, my MvC2 team will be broken, and that just won't do.
  13. We'd better get Mega Man's confirmation, and soon...
  14. No surprise, here. Metroid didn't need a JRPG story, or forced, extremely obvious linearity (which lasts until the end of the game). Now the sales reflect this. Get rid of Screwyoumoto, and let's get a good Metroid game, next time!
  15. Aw, seriously? I was so pumped to play Keyboard this weekend with my friends.
  16. Honestly, I doubt you came to those games with an open mind. You've already played them, and drawn conclusions about them. Then, you discussed them with others, and developed those conclusions further, based on those conversations. If there is a time when a person can play a game with an open mind, its during the first playthrough. And that only works IF the player has not made previous conclusions about the game, garnered from previews and other sources. Get real. The Sonic fanbase will never let Sonic have his day, whether his game deserves it or not. Sonic is eternally condemned to be ridiculed and despised, without possibility of parole. Having said that, remember that Sonic 4 is the highest rated Sonic game in years. How's that for praises?
  17. Sonic 4 is the highest rated Sonic game since Sonic Rush. Or, if you want to go by console releases, since Sonic Heroes. I don't see what's cute about that. Success usually isn't cute, it's just awesome. I hear you there, man. Hey, we're used to ignore the stinkers in Metroid, right? Hunters, schmunters, you know? If you're one of those pockets of happiness in a sea of discontentment, then my rant doesn't apply to you, and you have nothing to be insulted about. I'm talking about Malaki haha the people who call every single Sonic game a piece of you know what. Some games, like Sonic '06 deserve it. But not Sonic 4. It's fine if people don't like it, but calling something crap should be reserved for games like Superman 64, or Cheetahmen. No, no I have not. Maybe I can restrict my rant to gamers?
  18. This is exactly what I'm talking about. The sonic fanbase has become the most shallow, fickle, unpleasable, whiny, and unlikeable fanbase I've ever come in contact with. You make a good Mario game, most people will accept it. Make a good Zelda game, and most people will accept it (even if Zelda's fanbase is almost as fickle). Bungie can make Reach, and please all but the most hardcore of unhappy fanboys stuck in the "Halo C.E" mindframe. But there hasn't been a single Sonic game in years that is generally accepted. You only get pockets of happiness here and there, with what seems like 75% of the fanbase moaning and groaning. This ALWAYS happens. After years and years of it, I'm positively disgusted with it. Does the fanbase have valid reasons to be what they are? Yes and no. But they've got NO reasons this time. No major problems here. Sonic 4 is freaking solid. The reviews recognize that, the sales reflect that, and any gamer who doesn't have his head 5 feet up his own anus can see that. This is exactly why I would be ashamed to associate myself with this fanbase. I wouldn't be caught dead referring to myself as a Sonic fan. Now, I'm just a gamer who happens to like some Sonic games. By doing so, I can retain what little dignity I have left. It's absolutely insane, to me.
  19. Whoever brought up Mega Man 9 and 10 didn't pay attention. I said different graphics, remember? Even Contra 4 doesn't pass for a 100% carbon copy. I would never say that it doesn't feel like a Contra game, but, if you're being technical, you can tell it doesn't feel exactly like The Alien Wars. Just saying. Come on people, Sega did the right thing with Sonic 4. It wasn't perfect, but it's a train of thought they need to follow and perfect if Sonic is going to make a come back. If they abandon the 2-D sidescroller, because nobody thinks they are capable of doing it, they might as well retire Sonic for good.
  20. Did anyone of you ever consider the fact that it isn't possible to emulate Sonic's genesis physics when the game isn't on the genesis? Just look at NSMBWii. Did Mario have his physics from the original SMB? No. Point me to a platformer that feels exactly the same as an old one, but uses a different game engine, different console, and different graphics.
  21. This game is completely in tune with what made Sonic so great in the first place. Other than stiff controls (which I blame on the xbox controller), and sub-par music, I have ZERO complaints for this game. Yeah, that's right, a Sonic game where I have zero complaints......is that a pig I see, flying in the sky?
  22. Oh crap, I thought this was for community discussion. My bad.
