  1. Please post here as often as you can, if only so I can see that sig again.
  2. I... don't really see a problem, here (except, of course, if it's unplayable by a certain group of people). So what if it's implementing a system that may or may not be worth it? That probably won't affect you in any way, so what's the beef against it? We really can't know what it's going to hold until E3, so let's just wait for that before assaulting the thing, eh? Can't shit on what you don't know, you know?
  3. Not a bad idea... although Act5 might be a bit rough of a standard - how about Act 4? Meet on Friday (sometime), have a softcore eastrealm char at Act 4... Sound good, everyone?
  4. Hey, I'm actually registered on the forums and didn't know it. Funny how that works...
  5. Well, that was fun, wasn't it? Huh, well if anyone has a time to do another run I'm game (if the time works for me, lol). Ah well, let's organize games in this thread, if we can .
  6. I got started on mine last night, and I'll register tonight for you. I won't present the WIP until it's at least halfway, though, since it's hard to get an idea of it's direction with a short clip.
  7. Sorry if the front page isn't up to date! I've had work until now, so I'll get to updating everything. See you all in an hour!
  8. He probably did, but it isn't in the panels yet. Give it about another 2-3 months before we hear about it again. On the front page.
  9. Whichever you prefer, Donut - I'm fine either way, since both classes can be fun. Your call .
  10. Ah, alright... Careful with the Hdin, since they're getting a severe nerf in the next patch (undead magic immunities hold, now). They're still viable, just know that they're going to be affected by the next patch .
  11. I did, don't worry - you see, the voting works like this: 1st gets 4 point, 2nd gets 2, 3rd gets 1, and if you vote you get a bonus 3 point. So, if you vote for me I get an extra point over you, instantly (4 points vs 3), so it would be unfair for you, in the long run. Only by a point, but with only two people that could make or break the competetion (I've been in two where that single point won/lost the ORC compo, already). Oh, and that's why I do it, too - compos are excellent at improving one's ability to work under a constraint. Gotten loads better due to things like this, myself. It's just a little awkward to vote like that, but I did so there's no problem, now on with our lives . l o l . Don't worry 'bout me, buddy ... wait, where is ORC 116? That was between R:TS periods, so I guess that compo is floating around, somewhere...Obviously I still want to win, but I'll survive, otherwise.
  12. Yeah, I prefer you go with the Bowazon, myself (especially if you're not experienced in HC - Barbs can get tricky due to their constant contact with the enemy), but either class will work for me. Barbs also compliment the classes well, so if you're comfortable with it I don't really have a problem with it. Oh, and I suggested Ice not because of the damage (Fire arrows will certainly excel in that area), but because of the extra control you'll have on large groups of enemies. Don't worry - your arrows will provide enough damage, for the most part, so that much needed control could be what makes or breaks the party. Barbs provide health and + skills, though, so it's a tough call . Alright, the other thread is up - let's continue the discussion there.
  13. Hey OCR peeps! Remember that old thread claiming Diablo 2 was coming out with a patch (roflmao, to that)? Well, the patch is finally out, now (at least, it is tomorrow), so I'm getting a couple of people together to get on Battle.net and try our hands at this (slightly upgraded) game! We're leaning on running this Hardcore, but if people want to run it softcore, instead, we're flexible with it (Hardcore is really the way to go, though - the game still has life in that mode, ironically). The time that we're getting together is 6:00pm Pacific - 9:00pm Eastern (same as the OHC), but the time is flexible so if anyone has an alternative just let me know and I'll see if that works for everyone. Here's who's playing, so far... 1.Gario (Wind Druid/Fishymancer) 2.SoulinEther (Sorc/Hdin/Trapasin) 3.Lord Obsidious (Barb/Bowazon) 4.relyanCe (Assassin/Zealot/Javazon) 5.TehDonut (BlizSorc/Fishymancer) 6.Clefairy (IronBarb/Bonermancer) 7.Darklink42 (Barb/Assn) 8. It's likely we're going to run on the East Coast server, and we're meeting in Channel OCR - you remember the good ol' 'Channel' system, right? Alright, let's kick some DIABLO ASS!!
  14. Alright, I'll get on making a new thread right now - no one wants to look at a thread that says 'Diablo II possibly next week!' anymore, right? As for what a 'fishymancer' is, it's a build that focuses on Skellies (Raise Skeleton and Skeleton Mastery), then on Corpse Explode for fast Hell killing. It utilizes Amp Damage, so that curse will always be on and it breaks Physical Immunes. They are excellent for 'tanking' because the enemy tends to focus on the skeletons, and the other curses (Attract in particular, with a lesser focus on Blind) divert the enemy attention further. The skellies damage is one of the greatest equipment scaling skills in the game, so while it may not seem like much, at first (1-2 dmg, FTW) they get pretty heafty, endgame (600-800dmg, PLUS amp damage PLUS might merc, effectively allowing them to do 2400 - 3200dmg - more than enough to take down Hell Diablo and Baal). Obviously, this isn't WOW or anything, so 'tanking' has a different look to it altogether, and Necros fit the bill quite well. Yeah, I'll run a Fishymancer, if no one else will. I prefer a Wind Druid, if someone else will take the Fishymancer responsibility (excellent at Elemental tanking, by the way), but I've run both through HC Hell so I'm familiar with both enough for this outing. As for a Bowazon, Soulinether is right that it's very equipment dependent, but the elemental focus tends to be more with the Ice arrows - because they radius freeze (not chill) opponents it offers excellent crowd control and is the perfect compliment to Strafe (the high dmg bow skill - Multishot, while nifty, does not fair well enough in Hell to be worth it). It also provides an alternative to Physical Damage (for when we run into those nasty Stone Skin Physical Immunes that my Amp Damage will not break). It's perfectly viable for Hell difficulty. Don't neglect the passive skills for raw dmg, of course (Dodge, Evasion and... I forgot the last one... are great for a single point +to skills, Valkyrie, Decoy and Piercing shot are similar, although may be worth more than a single point investment, pending on your equipment, and Penetrating shot is always worth getting up past 30-40%, no matter what). If you want the 'big' Amazon build, as of late it's been a Javazon. Lightning Fury + Plague Javalin = incredibly versatile, high damaging char, even through Hell (the poison gets somewhere around 20-30k, and the lightning is one of the fastest killers in the game). They also have the added benefit of using a shield, so the survivability is high, and their highest weapon is actually quite common (Titan's... something, I think, but I've found it twice running my last character). That's pretty much the only alternative to a classic Bowazon, but both are quite viable in Hell (Actually, the bowazon compliments the fishymancer much better than the Javazon because of all the Physical Dmg boosting, so that might actually be the best choice, in this case. The Javazon does far better on her own, though). Oh, and what level do you attempt Hell difficulty at? If it's anywhere less than 75, that's immediately your problem, right there . It helps that we're running this on the ladder (PLEASE don't forget to click that button!), so we'll have access to many, many runewords that'll really assist our run. Oh, and if we run HC, let's try not to die (I'll help there, when I can ).
  15. Oh fuck, Legend of Kage? I remember that game, having it rented a few times in my childhood and hating it every time. Let's see the mix, though, before I go putting my prejudices upon it... Yeah, this is from that game, all right - after 20 year I still know the music from it. Well, I'm 90% sure this is a bit conservative for OCR's tastes, but you probably know that and don't intend on submitting them here, so it doesn't matter . I need to go back to the source and double check that (remember, 20 years), but I remember it being very similar to what you've got. Love the thunder - don't remember rain in the game, but it works. The percussion sounds in it are also top notch, so great job, there. The other instruments (the strings, in particular), while fitting, unfortunately seem a little dull. Not sure you did that on purpose or not, but they sound like they sound use some highs to give them a little brilliance. Some of the background strings could use some humanization, as well (obviously the Asian strings and such sound human enough, so no worries there). The song overall sound very interesting, though. I like the obvious Asian choice to it - you've pulled it off quite well. Not bad at all. Let's see what the other track you'll release have in store for us .
  16. I'll work on mine soon - I was catching up on a few other things, but I'll get working now to get it done (and if you all know what minimalism is, expect a 15-20min mix, here). I suspect it's going to be primarily orchestral, but I'm still not sure if I'll throw in some electronic sound in it or not, yet (I'll lean towards no electronic sound, since you guys seem to have enough of that, but if it's called for I might add a little).
  17. So was this an instant reject? I don't see it in the panels anywhere, so I can't build off of those comments, now. Alright, let's see... I like the sound of the music. Good synthwork, buddy. It fills the space pretty well, so nice work there. Unfortunately, the space it fills is very quiet compared to the rest of the music on this site, so there's a good chance it'll get rejected on those grounds alone. Get it louder and retain the quality and that'll be that (harder than it sounds, believe me). Some of the main themes are being drown in the background of the music (such as the melody at 1:22), so a bit of mixing is needed to bring out a couple of elements in the music. The drums are very weak... The bass and hats are non-existent, and the snare, while it can still be used for some auxiliary purpose, doesn't work as your only snare. You need some new drums in here (and possibly a reworking of the old drums). The music overall is very conservative - while that's not a bad thing on it's own, OCR won't accept it as-is. You need to bring some more change to the source, some more interpretations with the melody, harmony, structure, etc., in order for OCR to consider this. As I said before, the soundscape is nicely filled. However, you use the same textures, instruments, etc, throughout the entire song, which really wears on the listener after the first minute. You must change up some of the instrumentation in order for this to be taken seriously. Seriously. Expect another rejection, bro, but learn from it - I recommend moving on to another song, as you'll be able to learn far more about the things I mentioned above by working on new music rather than caressing an older song, like this one. It's doesn't ever sound terrible, mind you, just boring, so you'll need to learn how to spice things up. Post up some new music here (or even another update of this song) and I'll help any way I can . Oh, and don't worry - the first song I submit to this site I instantly regret doing since it was so TERRIBLE! Yours isn't too bad, in comparison. We all learn from these experiences, dude. Good luck.
  18. Analoq, I know you shouldn't vote for yourself... but as both you and I know, you still can (oops, for me). I won't vote for myself, you should know that (we had a little talk about that earlier, remember? ). I'm just... confused as to why someone would vote on these when they can only vote for one person, is all, since if I don't vote now that would put me at an unfair advantage (and I'd have every right to do that - it'd be the exact same as voting for myself, score-wise). It's just illogical to do that to yourself, and the other person is set up with a minor moral dilemma, now. I guess giving critiques/comments/compliments is a reason to do it, but it does put me in a little bit of a strange place, now . I'm voting, so don't worry about any unfair score problems; I normally don't in this situation, for those reasons so if I didn't look back here Jerry would've been in a minor pickle, here (I see this compo being close enough that the single point would indeed have an effect on the outcome). Normally Doufi tells the contestants not to vote if there are only two people in it, so I'm used to that system (not to mention it's just safer for the contestants, overall). Hewhoisiam has the perfect solution (moar contestants), but unfortunately that isn't in our reach...
  19. Well THAT puts me in a conundrum... Why'd you vote? Now I've got to vote, and one of two things will happen... 1. I vote for myself, making myself look bad, or 2. I vote for you, possibly giving you the winning vote. I'm forced to vote, now, but don't do that again if there are only two places to vote for .
  20. Yeah, it's fun to poke fun at you, you know that . Happy b-day, dude.
  21. I can tank, if need be (fishymancer, woot). If you've beaten the game a few times on softcore (No/Ni/He, of course) then you should give Hardcore a shot - it changes the game completely. Not to mention that if we wanted to run up the ladder as quickly as possible we'd actually have a chance at seeing our names up there without nearly as much effort (the current ladder has 80's on it, believe it or not). I guess in order to organize the time I'll just throw out a time, here, and see how it works - does March 23, 6 PM Pacific / 9 PM Eastern sound acceptable to everyone? If not, what kind of changes should we make? Oh, and don't forget to compensate for the patch download itself (probably 10 minutes, in advance).
  22. Not much I can say about this. Finish it off and post it, I say. Chiptunage & badass electro, ftw.
  23. Didn't you know? This game was actually created... Silly Txai...
  24. He made his own B-day thread? All that aside, Happy Birthday, Professor (Meteo) Xavier!
  25. *rushes to hit the 'Submit' button* WHEW! There we go. Almost didn't make it (had about 50 seconds left!). Enjoy it, peeps!
