  1. Outline is key. Having an outline of the important and major details of your story will help you out greatly. Make sure you also have the finish and the beginning in mind, as well as your character's personality and back-history. That's all the advice I can give to you from what I learned from my English 101 class
  2. You're talented. Seriously, I think it take great rhythm skills to do that with a keyboard. Nice set BTW.
  3. The best way to get your work on OC ReMix.
  4. The brutally of Rorschach made me love him a lot. In the theater I went, people started clapping for him when [spoilers] He savagely cut up that kidnapper after he fed her to those dogs. [/spoilers]
  5. So true. Seeing Haley perform as Rorschach, he would be perfect for Carnage. Rorschach's brutality is truly displayed during the scene with the kidnapper and in the prison.
  6. About time! Disney has some of the best written musical scores for a movie and I'm glad their going back to their roots and I hope these depraved kids who grew up with the 3-D crap get to see how you do real cartooning.
  7. Did you recently pissed somebody off, trolled them, harass them, or did anything mean to them to anyone in the past?
  8. The story-telling and character development are the selling points in RPGs. If you do not have a great story, more likely people won't care for it. Then again, the most important item about a game is the gameplay. If the gameplay isn't fun, then you can forget about people caring about your game. When you do an ending, make sure it reflects on the game and it's characters. Make sure that the ending have tied up loose ends and re-tell the story with a closing statement of sorts.
  9. I want to see the "Mystical Ninjas Starring Goemon" series come back to America. With the same game play as the first N64 game. EDIT: Shit, I didn't see Jason's post. Yeah, it was baiscally Zelda, Mario, Japanese folklore and robots. That game was so amazing. Too bad it was short however.
  10. It's fun and it's a somewhat a good idea to get some inspiration from other music.
  11. It's this new damn slang talk these damn kids are using today. Well on topic. It's funny seeing that I'm working on a personal eassy on how important music is in movies, video games, and TV. Anyways, just tell how producers are the most important part in music seeing they are the ones getting your music out there and they also lead a hand with composing and making beats and shit.
  12. Just playing Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles. A kid can have on fun afternoon with that game on the Genesis. This gmae has one of the biggest impact on my childhood beause of how great it was and how much I enjoyed it.
  13. A bit overrated but it was pretty damn cool. I must say the gore was over-the-top but dammit, it was a kick-ass anime.
  14. I tired to make a game with RPG maker 2003 but it got tedious with something simple. I did had some fun with it, but I think making a game the real way is so much better. I think it's worth it learning programming and programming games for indie projects.
  15. Go learn about some classical musicians! Happy birthday Mozart even though you are dead.
  16. What? Not even WIP are safe now? Man these guys are just . . .WTF!
  17. Do you have to be a OC Re mixer and what type of experience and skill level you are looking for? Also, to make sure this isn't a scam or bullshit, do your company have an actual physical address and I mean by that is no P.O. Box crap, I mean an actually physical address.
  18. I was wondering, how long does a composer have in sense of time does he or her have to complete a total OST for a game? I heard compoers like Tommy Tallarico and Nobou Umeatsu stating that it usually takes them about 8 Months to a year to complete a OST because you are dealing with waiting for the post-production of the game and, If you have that much money, you need to find an orcestra who is open-minded enough to play the music for video games. Another thing I wonder is how long does it take for an indiepent VG music compoer and from your experinces, if you ever composed music for games.
  19. Final Fantasy 2j. I could not find the true, original version, but that's one is good enough. I'm gonna prove you wrong with my crap music theory knowledge! I kid but FF5 had an airship theme? Speaking of airship, what you make of "Searching for Friends"? I mean, it wasn't truly triumphant in terms. I just play around until I find want I like.
  20. My bad, I was thinking of the Dorian Mode. My old teacher would fuckin' kill me for that mistake (plus the fact I didn't pay attention when he was teaching us this.) The Tower from Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal where the monks praise that BellSprout god(?) does have the Eastern feel to it. Makes me want to do an Eastern-type song. Harmonic minor is great for Arab-like music thanks due to that G#. I was wondering what was the name of that scale. Once again, thanks to everyone who gave some advice. It's some good advice!
  21. Recently, I have started working on composing video game music so I can have a nice portfolio by the end of my Sophomore year in college (and just for fun as well). What type of chords progression and key signatures do you recommended for the following: Scary (A fellow composer on an indie game development site told me the chord AEF is good, but what are some other chords to use and keys. I'm working on a soundtrack for a horror/survival game.) R&B - I assume any chord within M7, m7, and m6, M6. Your typical jazz chords and seeing that R&B is one of the many children of jazz. Battle - Such as minor, story-based, and boss battles. What chords would help me out to show listeners and players that they are in a battle. For a minor/sub-boss, what key and for a story-based boss, what keys would I need to know? Town,Country-Side,Big City,Castle Town, etc. - I know for like a big modern day city, one cliche is like using a saxophone if the city takes place in a gritty, dark, grim area. But for like a RPG/adventure type of town or castle town, I don't know. Sad,Depressing - I been told E Minor and A Minor from my composing friend. Also, "Cry in Sorrow" from Final Fantasy IV is in the key of D-Flat Major/B-Flat Minor but I wonder would D-Flat Major/B-Flat Minor would work. World Map - This does depends on the story of the game and the characters. Because each video game's story (or lack of it) is very different, you would be force to compose the world map depending on the game's main story. World Map (Adventure-Like Theme) Main Themes like the original FF1 and Legend of Zelda's MM's map theme. What keys and chord progressions are they usually in? World Map (Sad Depressing) - I could take A and E Minor. Final Fantasy 2 had a very depressing world map theme because of the story. World Map (Airship, Boats, Etc.) - ??? I have no idea to explain this.
  22. About damn time. Like Gollgagh, I'm a bit upset that they did cancel the PSP project.
