  1. Sega freakin Dreamcast. Chao VMU games for SA/2, Tech Romancer, Bangaio, etc. This coupled with N64 and Gamecube describes my childhood.
  2. Guys. Just make music, or don't. IT'S THAT SIMPLE
  3. My summoner name is Neblix if anyone wants to add me to their pool of players to invite for normal games.
  4. http://www.image-line.com/documents/lifetimefreeupdates.html You can get your regkey from your My Account page. No, this isn't a new thing. It's been there for years. That's why it's undeniably the best deal in music software. Cubase, Pro Tools, Reason, etc. all cost money ($200-300 per version) to upgrade. ("best deal" meaning most content for your buck)
  5. FL Studio 10 is free for you. There's no reason to switch DAW's.
  6. FL Studio (in song mode) Hit Record. Play. Cubase Hit Record. Play.
  7. I never get inspiration, I can never finish my works, I'm terrible at synth sound choice, and I can't write any good original works.
  8. Electric guitars weren't in the skyrim theme, Brandon was allowed to use those. You're overthinking it. Covers are just remaking the song in whatever way you want.
  9. The whole point of a cover is a verbatim composition with a fresh new soundscape. For instance, Brandon Strader did a metal cover of the Skyrim theme. It's the Skyrim theme, but with electric guitars and drums.
  10. Fixed. 10char You do not need any performance abilities whatsoever, nor do you need to know how to mix and master. Stuff like Finale is just writing on notation only, and that's composing at the heart. You outlined skills required for a successful PRODUCTION, even then performance ability is not required at all.
  11. You're very bad at this whole April Fool's joke thing, Brondan. Also guys, it's quite simple really, the way time travel works. If we get 50,000 likes by 3012, it'll be released in 2012. Not OUR 2012, because that already went by. We're just the poor saps that helped some other timeline get Random Encounter in 2012. So don't get 50,000 likes. No reason to help those guys.
  12. Before I was like "Cool, an Ableton and Cubase fusion rip! Sounds awesome!" Now after FL Performance Mode news I'm like "Cool, an Ableton and Cubase fusion rip. Sounds awesome. /sarcasm"
  13. I would comment less on the subforums we have and talk a little more about how it's kind of impressive that we have an immensely diverse population in every way possible including geographic location, and yet we all have basically the same interests as each other. Tech, music, games, etc. It's pretty hard to find people on here that DON'T share main, common interests with you.
  14. I compose it on the spot. (Because I can't play synthesizers) So it's a bit like sporatic composing, where I write, but don't really go back to change it. I don't really put much thought into it, so it still retains a bit of that human randomness that makes solos interesting.
  15. Not transcribing by ear and using a MIDI file will hinder your ability to properly interpret the note sequences. It will force you to start with the original and then you'll have to change it from there. Doing it by ear (especially after not having to listen to it for a long time) will make you transcribe it the way your brain wants you to. Changing the MIDI for interpretation is harder. This is all my experience, anyway.
  16. I don't think you read what I said.
  17. I mean I do enjoy him fiddling with sending Castlevania MIDI's through his giant analog synth rack, but I wish he'd be less about OMG I'M DJING MY TECHNO and actually write some good techno to DJ. >_> You have a giant analog synth wall, stop making "pew pew" portamento blips and throw some awesome synth solos and fat basses and pads in there. I feel Skrillex does a much better job of filling up his tracks with material.
  18. I feel like he's more about image (and DJing) than his music now. He hasn't come out with a phenomenal track in a long time. Great beat, great bassline, and a couple blips.
