  1. hey gang, i just bought my Deluxe edition Wii U. Been playing Xenoblade Chronicles on it. The difference in video quality knocked my on my ass, seriously. I've already added Thalzon, Doulifee and Darkesword to my friends list. Hit me up, I'm ftninja on Miiverse. See you guys online!
  2. Has anyone mentioned Assassin's Creed III yet? Cuz holy fuck that music is awesome. Liberation, too. The music that plays when you're doing a Boston Brawler mission is just. So freaking cool. And they called it Fight Club. Freedom Fighter track is good too. Btw, hi all!
  3. I'd like to begin this post with a disclaimer which states that I fully understand the whys of the Facebook campaign, and I understand the whys of negative reaction to it. I am not aligning myself to either side of the argument, but merely stating something that I haven't seen mentioned. There are a percentage of people who are on Facebook, but who do not use it. These are the people who check their updates maybe once every couple of months. People who send friend requests to these users are lucky to be noticed in a reasonable time frame. These are people who can't be arsed to hit the like button no matter how much they agree with anything said, posted, linked to. Whether they are a fan or not, whether they like what they see or hear, or not. I admit, I'm one of the lazy bums. On the flip side, yes, Facebook is a useful tool. However, the networking of information and people is focused according to preference and interest. Friends of friends of friends of friends who might like video game music can only see so much, according to privacy settings and relation to that network. You can reach as many as you can, OCRemix. But you can only use Facebook to reach so many.
  4. Ever seen the "skins" for the wii remotes? they're just reapplicable stickers.
  5. I'm wondering if they're going to be making sweet, sweet skins for this thing. Also, you have the option of changing wallpaper colors. I want them to expand on this.
  6. It's Ubisoft. What do you want? Lol. I think it's fun. They could have done better with multiplayer communication (auuugh, where's the mic use, i don't want to bring up a text interface to speak!), but overall it's a good portable. The music is pretty epic, and the 'dungeons' are pretty interesting. I have a forest roadway as one of the dungeons. Blew my mind as it was a dungeon crawler. Good shit! Now if I can only find experienced RPGers to play online with instead of idiots!
  7. I was kind of busy transferring save data. I'm overall impressed with the Vita. It marries mobile phone touchscreen capability and still is a gaming system. Word to note: it does NOT COME WITH A MEMORY CARD. The proprietary memory card comes seperately. Screen Protectors and the Charging Cradle are highly recommended by me. The touch screen is capable of multiple tap points. Some games require two taps at the same time. I'm interested to see where this goes. The game I have for the Vita is Dungeon Hunters: Alliance. The graphics are pretty good for a handheld, and I'm very happy to see trophies and online multiplayer properly on a Sony portable. Yay Sony.
  8. The general portrayal of women wouldn't bother me so much if it was based on a believeable reason as to why they behave and dress in the manner they are portrayed. Examples: Ashe (FFXII). Royalty in hiding, and a woman in a 'resistance' effort wouldn't be wearing a skirt so short. Not only would men be staring, the knights around her wouldn't be letting her fight as one of them and not question propriety. I'm sorry, princesses do not equal street walkers, even if they're trying to blend in. Aeris (FFVII). Wow, a girl who has almost a fullsize dress on? Admittedly it was designed with a split, but I can believe she'd need to wear something like that to run in while in a party. Female Heroine (Pokemon Black/White). Why is it necessary that her cutoff shorts basically give you a panty shot every time she throws the pokeball out? How is this even comfortable when running around collecting pokemon? How does this protect your legs from chiggers in tall grass? Bianca (Pokemon Black/White). This bothers me. She's got a cute little skirt on, stockings, etc. But she's portrayed as a complete ditz while her childhood friend "Female Heroine" is considered the stronger personality. Why do I feel like if I dress modestly I must be some sort of dumbass? These are just a few examples. Fully clothed, strong minded women are few and far between in video games. Hell, I'll accept tight clothes on a woman if it's reasonable. If I question the ability to do what they do while dressed in what they're dressed, I have a problem taking the game seriously. I realize I'm not supposed to do this but again. If developers are moving towards realism to immerse me in their game (graphics, physics, gritty story), then for the love of God make your characters wear clothes that make some fucking sense. http://www.creativeuncut.com/gallery-03/art/tp-zelda-render.jpg Zelda wore this while riding a horse and firing arrows at Ganondorf. The skirt looks wide enough that she can do that. That means this girl doesn't need leggings, a bare midriff or sexy boots to be badass. To answer your question, it seems to be a case by case thing with me. However, when female characters are just 'there' rather than a beleiveable ally that actually helps, it's hard to not be disappointed.
  9. I'd just like to jump in here for a moment and talk about Bayonetta. I watched this game being played at a friend's house. My friend looked at me and said "ISN'T THIS COOL? SHE'S SO BADASS." During a part where my friend didn't know where to go next, I couldn't tell whether he was trying to find a way forward or simply running around in circles watching the character's hips move in a fashion unrealistic to a woman's physical movements. This game both did not offend me and did, as a female gamer. Yeah it's nice to see a woman kick seven kinds of ass and look cool doing it but why did her hips have to be placed on ball bearings? Most games are looking to have realistic physics and graphics. Yes I realize sex sells. But it's mindboggling to see guys (or rather, the one I knew, in this case) who say 'i respect and value women' and then specifically pick up a game that devalues and disrespects them. This issue doesn't bother me so much because it's 'normal'. But it's still disappointing to see that it's becoming somewhat of a porn mini-outlet, somewhat. Men fantasize about what they'd do to Bayonetta, Sophitia and yes, some weirdos will take Princess Zelda and say strange things of her. It's there. It's strange.
  10. This. But seriously, for the games they currently have out, even on the eShop, there's no exciting reason to buy a 3DS. The games they're releasing aren't that exciting (Sorry, RE:R, I'm just not that into you). So far, all we have is filler until the *good* games come out.
  11. Gollgagh, let's hope it's not more complicated. With launch comes bugs and nasty surprises.
  12. I've got a preorder on the way. I haven't really looked at any of the launch titles. I'm more worried about transferring games and save data from my PSP. I'll have to look up what's out there. I'm really excited for the ability to message your friends on the Vita. From what I understand it's a PS3 in your pocket, so there should be no reason as to it not being capable for the same features.
  13. I don't think CoD is hardcore either. But many people think it is. I don't understand it either so i'm not going to explain it. Also, yes. Everyone plays video games. But not everyone is a gamer. Not everyone knows what that means. You could be a grandma playing a Zynga game or a young kid with a 3DS. You're at different spectrums of the same zone. Gaming could be that stupid banner ad at the top of the page, or a game you play with a controller. There is a gaming culture. It's just ambiguous. No one has as of yet defined it concretely, so people misinterpret genres (such as the Call of Duty argument), and misjudge people who may or may not be gamers and their styles.
  14. Personally, I think the stereotypes will always be there, whether we want them to or not. Because the gaming companies want it there. How else are they going to define the genre of a game and market it? Call of Duty will always be for the 'hardcore'. I cringe when I say this because I've met obnoxious teenagers who scream 'I'M HARD CORE' when all they've played is a newer, very niche genre. If you ask me, you cannot call yourself hardcore until you've played and understood, if not mastered the classics. Ys was a game that I was not introduced to until its PSP rendition, this past year. The mechanic blew my mind. I don't press a button to attack? Play Breath of Fire, Lufia, and yes, Final Fantasy. The OLDER ones. People assume you are a specific stereotype because they don't understand. The game companies and the people who are not true gamers (people who got into gaming because of the Wii and Kinect) will always stereotype us. They didn't grow up with this stuff. They don't understand. I don't think they ever will.
  15. Alright. I listened to OP's examples. Honestly, these have nothing whatsoever to do with 8bit 80's. Seriously. You say 8bit, and I expect. No, demand chiptune. See Halc, Benjamin Briggs, Insert Rupee, even Virt for chrissake. This is chiptune. This is 8bit. Only a few underground artists and bands will use this. Hell even Whiz Khalifa did it. But you distinctly knew what it was. Pussy Cat Dolls and Dev and Beyonce? Nigga plz.
  16. If you paid any attention at all, you'd know I don't have 11. Learn to understand, maybe? In any case, i'm very close to finishing 2 of them. So. Yay me.
  17. Mine are: - at least TRY not to be involved in a relationship this year (...try...) - FINALLY get promoted to Shift Management ($11.00/hr here I come!) - Finish my Final Fantasy Challenge (see sig)
  18. Anyone who adds Ocre needs to know he is a swapnote whore, and he'll make you angry that he draws so well.
  19. Handle - Red Friend Code - 4038-6416-4979 I shall now troll this thread for people's friend codes. If I don't add you it's probably because I dont' know you.

Great puzzles guys! Unfortunately, I can't download any of them to play because the old man says i need to power up my studio. I guess playing the game longer does that? In any case, i'm downloading these images to a folder so I don't have to go looking for them. Credit will be given, even though i'm not going to be sharing.
  21. I thought that was Steveo. But hey, Billy Mays works too.
  22. Tanks and fitted tees would be nice, but i'm one of those girls who wears small men's t-shirts. Diotrans I like your designs, they're really cute. Maybe you could do some distressed designs? I've seen someone who took a shirt, cut at the seams on the sides and then basically tied it all together, kind of like those raggedy blankets? Am I reaching here?
  23. If i had to choose between the two, i'd pick the instruments. Seriously, guys, this is an image that people see on youtube. It actually makes that connection. If I were to walk around with that shirt on, people might recognize and make the connection. The university logo doesn't relate to anything we do, nor does it project an image that people would remember. That being said, I *hate* the blocky design of the instruments logo. Yes, it's recognizable, yes, it's something we've used before, but GOD. it's UGLY.
  24. @Ocre It hurts my heart that you weren't in love with Spoilers? Lanayru Present and Lanayru Past (omfg it's my favorite!)The music in this game is bloody brilliant. I love all the little things that Nintendo did. I went into the waterfall cave at night to look for the midnight merchant, and a bell tolls. It has the same tone and quality as the Majora's Mask bell. Creepy shit. I have to say though, out of all the music in this game, i remember Lanayru Past best. It's just so GOOD.
