  1. *cough* At first the bells sounded out of place here, but then, everything just works. Nice, techno, and ambient. The more I listen to this, the more I like it. Great job.
  2. This is a great mix and worth checking out, but, imo, this mix set up a great foundation just to go crazy and do all kinds of creative tricks, but it didn't. It just stays "low and slow". It really is a good mix as it is, but the potential to do much more here is obvious.
  3. Indeed. It's too incoherent for me to like, but it's interesting nonetheless. I'd give it an A for effort.
  4. It's decidedly techno-industrial, but I'm just not getting a "fear for the safety of my soul" vibe here. In the end, its an average, o.k mix.
  5. Whoa, that violin is Awesome. While its not "demons breathing down your neck" intense, it has that quiet, maddening, psychological edge of horror riddled though it, like some thing is right around the corner that wants to eat you. Oddly enough, an image of Gomez and Morticia Addams waltzing to this popped into my mind just now.
  6. The themes here are not just intertwined and threated through each other, but like bonded with super glue, which produces a very delicious treat for the ears. I had forgotten about that... Indeed, it is great. Awesome job and a great mix.
  7. I really like the atmosphere, the background crowds. It's almost like being in a mall or something. Wow, this is a cool mix. The piano here is awesome. It's interesting seeing some of the other reactions to this mix. I personally find this a mellow, quasi-jazz style, others find it aa party background music or as a dancing track. It's rare to find a track that has been so versatiably labeled by the community.
  8. This is so mellow, almost ethereal. It's extremely hard to not like this mix. This mix is highly recommended if you're stressed and need something to listen to in order to chill out for a while.
  9. It sounds like other themes are mixed in there as well... Lava Reef Zone? Launch Base Zone? or am I just hearing things? The mix doesn't really stick close enough to the source for my liking. All in all, it's an o.k. mix.
  10. Exactly! Imo, if Sega wanted to do, say, S3&KHDR, then this track NEEDS to be in there. This track is that good.
  11. I'm sorry, this mix doesn't quite work as it is, imo. Fei-long's theme isn't just electro-techno material. I'm not saying that this isn't a well done and well polished mix, but that there are better ways to approach this.
  12. I like this mix. I represents a window into a wonderful realm of possibilities, what could have been. All made possible by the Internet. This is a great and unique track. Awesome work.
  13. During my journeys around the internet, I've also came across some other items of interest. I haven't really seen these mentioned elsewhere here on OCR and thought they'd be worth sharing: 1. Bplus has released a mini-soundtrack for its two Wiiware games: Niki - Rock 'n' Ball and PLÄTTCHEN - twist 'n' paint. http://www.bplus.at/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=41&sid=7f2702620f157614f413174f2d73baa6 2. A 13 minute megamix of Geometry Wars music was released by Bizarre Creations. The link is near the bottom of the page. http://www.bizarrecreations.com/article.php?article_id=5334
  14. Daaaaaaannnnngggg..... That's awesome.
  15. I don't really care for the sound samples here; they don't really help the mix. Ultimately, I find this a this mix average; not to bad, but just ok.
  16. This sounds like metalification of pain and sorrow. Wow, this is great stuff, nice work.
  17. Sort of... They remind me more of Star Fox. I keep having this bizarre deja vu whenever I hear this and it's driving me nuts. Still this is a great mix, very space worthy.
  18. eh, If nothing else, its original. I do like the drums; those are interesting. As the mix progresses, it gets calmer, more into a comfortable groove. This is one of those mixes where one has to listen past the intro/first minute before the mix really shines.
  19. The intro with the race starting, the countdown, and all that was a nice touch. imo, its overly minimalistic, so there's not a whole lot to work with, nowhere to really take this track, which seems ironic for an F-Zero theme. For what it is, it's fairly good chillax music , but I don't really care for it.
  20. Yeah, its a great mix, but that brings it down a notch or two. The mix keeps things interesting; its consistent but not overly so. Its definitely worth checking out.
  21. For all those who are interested, 2d Boy has released the World of Goo soundtrack, which is available here: http://kylegabler.com/WorldOfGooSoundtrack/ So far, what I've been listening to has been great.
  22. The intro is nice, but the instruments feel artificial. But then the mix busts out and it doesn't matter as much. It's not bad electro-dance, but I don't particularly care for it.
  23. Didn't see that coming.... I don't really care for the intro; it plays tricks with my headphones and makes me feel like going deaf in my left ear or something. Still this is fairly standard power metal, so if you like that sort of thing, check this mix out.
  24. No thanks. I don't quite know what came in at 0:37, but that derailed the mix for me. ; It'd be a whole lot better if it didn't have that "weeeOOOOoo" sound. Yeah, not my kind of mix.
  25. There's a big jump between the intro and the main mix which detracts a bit from it. The sax here is amazing, but that's about it. Nothing much else here that's worth noting. Fairly average mix.
