  1. Truthfully, when I first listened to this I didn't really much care for it, but now it's growing on me. The first half comes on too strong and could potentially frighten innocent bystanders, and that's what initially turned me off to this mix. Like I said, the more I listen to this the more I like it and here some really interesting things in this mix like the piano and certain snippets of the mix that sound familiar and give me a feeling in the back of my mind that I should recognize them.
  2. This just feels too mechanical; one can feel the datedness of it, but even so, I like it. Its got a great groove and blends Zelda with jazz extremely well. Definitely worth checking out for the Zelda and/or jazz enthusiast.
  3. This is mind explodingly EPIC. It is solemn, moody, grandiose, mellowly serious, quietly contemplative, and indeed the best thing since sliced bread. Download this now. That is all.
  4. Here's my $0.02, Neo Pacifist by tycho IntroJazz by Zoltan Vegvari Heatman (Ignition mix) by Fru Aphrodite Oceanus by The Wingless Person, Place, or Groove? by The Orichalcon Saturday Night Speedway by Gecko Yamori SuperBuckJazz by Estradasphere Rove You Rong Time by Dhsu One Girl in All the World by The Wingless Joshua Morse's Hybridism Everything by Neskvartetten And also Thieves of Fate Especially Days of Summer V2
  5. The intro reminds me of something and I Can't Think Of What... Anyway, I love this mix. It so mellow, dreamy, hazy, foggy. It's sort of like that edge of consciousness when you start to wake up from dreaming, and you can't tell what's reality and what's dream. Especially the echoing Zelda's Lullaby as the chorus, that was slick.
  6. Dang, that's cool. It's so... indescribable. It's like a chimera, bits and pieces amalgamed together. The title is awesome, and it just seems so appropriate; with such an amalgam of instruments/sounds, its like someone recorded all the audio that came out of some time vortex or something. All in all, awesome work This is a must download.
  7. It's definitely BGM, but it's good BGM; perfect to listen to while reading or studying. It reminds me of something like the theme of "the great quest" or something like that. It's serious but not dire, and it's definitely traveling music. Definitely worth listening to.
  8. I like this one. It's dark, techno, industrial, atmospheric, and, most importantly, funky. It's all just works so well together. Great mix. I agree. The Luigi's Mansion soundtrack was good.
  9. oh.... this is just soooooooooooo freaking good. I absolutely love the part at 1:44. The sound bites that are weaved and worked in are amazing. It's like ambrosia for the ears, if that makes sense....
  10. This just put into my head an incredibly bizarre image of galloping trumpets 0_o Just a whole heard of them stampeding....
  11. New Super Mario Bros. was an attempt at a Super Mario Bros. 4. All I'm saying is that I'd think it'd be cool if Nintendo pulled a Capcom and went extremely retro with Super Mario Bros. 4 i.e. NES sounds, NES graphics, NES gameplay, and so on Oh, and on a similar tangent, I think that Nintendo should tack on Star Fox 2 to the end of the original Star Fox (for a "two games in one" deal), give them Star Fox 64 gameplay, and give them Star Fox Assault's graphics/sound/etc. i.e. totally revamp/remix the original two Star Foxes Edit: >.> oops...
  12. To each his own I guess... The distorted vocals make some sense, as if it were filtered through broken glass, but well, this isn't quite my cup of tea. The best I can say is to try it out for yourself.
  13. I'll admit that the first time I heard this I was like , but the more I listen to this, the more I like it. The ending, though, is abrupt, but w/e, it's still wicked awesome. Awesome work.
  14. For my $0.02, there are three ways to revive a game/series: The MM9 route: Release a completely new game in the series with old school graphics/sounds/feel/etc. as Capcom did with the original Mega Man series. The HDR route: Update a classic game and tweak everything until perfection as Capcom did with SSFIIHDR. The Punch-Out!! route: Take what makes a game good and what fans love about the game and rebuild from the ground up with those in mind as Nintendo did with Punch-Out!! and Capcom did with Street Fighter IV. That said, I would be highly interested if Nintendo made a Super Mario Bros. 4 and a LoZ:OoTHDR (possibly w/ TP graphics) and if Sega released a Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Also they did revive Tecmo Super Bowl recently.
  15. This is like "the power of techno", so as the theme theme of a bear wrestler from Mother Russia, I'm going to have to disagree with djp in regards of this mix and in-game use. I do agree with him, however, that it was an extremely good idea to release this one to the public. It does makes me wonder, though, what other gems like this became hidden in the shuffle. Anyway, this is a great mix and worth listening to. Very nice.
  16. Ethno-electronica. I like it, it labels this track perfectly. This is great and worth a download. Awesome work.
  17. This is classy stuff. I really like the techo/medieval flute. I can almost imagine some epic medieval ballad to go along with this. It's kind of repetitive and there's a section here and there that I don't really care for, but the bottom line is I like the mix and what's going on here. This is worth a listen.
  18. Wow, this is on SoS, and this was released three years ago. Wow. Still, it's interesting. I can't really decide if I like it or not, though. It's trying its best to sort of be techno-Asiatic, but I don't think it quite meets those specifications. I'd be better without the drumming "tictictic" that's so pervasive. I'd ultimately say that it's pretty decent but not quite one of my favorites.
  19. Ahhh... I can see why "happy hardcore" applies here, and I pick out some Cannon in D. Mmmm... This sounds like some bizarre anime/DDR track. I don't particularly care for it, but I do give credit for trying something different out.
  20. The Team Rocket theme was already fairly creepy, but this just takes it, polishes it, and makes it as it should be. Listening to this reminds me why I sunk soooo many hours into these games and makes me want to go dig out some of my old Gameboy carts. Ahhh, good times, good times.
  21. But, but,the Red and Blue themes for Pokemon Tower are the same This mix has a decent amount of creepiness to it. And I agree with previous sentiments that it's more "improvement" than "reimagined", but still, it's good, listenable, and I like it. At the least, its worth listening to for nostalgia.
  22. This is something I'd love to hear live. It is kind of strange though to hear a Russian folk tune played by a classical orchestra. Still, this is good. It's so beautifully arranged and orchestrated; the two themes blend so well together. Awesome stuff is going on here, and this is worth listening to.
  23. imo, the initial flute seems a little off, but that can be forgiven because this mix is epic. This mix is definitely something you want to have coffee over; one can almost even smell the beans roasting. At least, until it gets sort of frantic. Still, I love how the terrain changes throughout this mix. In most mixes, new territory is fairly in your face, but the changes here are more subtle, more "look where you've came from" instead of "looking where you're going". Great work.
