  1. Hey, It's good to be submitting again. ^^ This remix is a collaborative effort between myself and Joseph Liao (aka "Fatty Acid"). I was browsing the archives of VGmix when I stumbled across his remix of the opening credits sequence for Final Fantasy X-2, "Under a Full Moon" (which I really enjoyed). The more I listened to it, the more ideas it inspired, so I contacted Mr. Liao about it and he was cool enough to allow me to re-remix his work for OCR submission. Hopefully, the tags are correct. I apologize if they aren't. Remix title: Final Fantasy X-2 "Under a New Moon" OCReMix Remixer handles: Fatty Acid & sephfire Composers: Takahito Eguchi & Noriko Matsueda Track Title: Eternity - Memory of Lightwaves Platform: PS2 Developer: Square-Enix Album: http://www.ocremix.org Content Type: Game Year: 2005 Hope everyone enjoys. To the OCR crew, keep up the good work. Thanks much, Daniel Floyd ("sephfire") __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! 2. LT Edit - Original deicision: http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=36181 Howdy, judging crew. A few months ago, I put together a mix of the Chrono Trigger battle theme which was rejected. It was called Time's Burden, as is the one I submit now. After I had a couple other remixes rejected, I decided to go back and try and correct some other stuff and instead of looking for new sounds, try and fix the old ones. So, here it is, the resubmission of "Time's Burden" a (hopeful) OC Remix. Enjoy. Information you probably need: Remixer Name: Toxic Soul Game Remixed: Chrono Trigger Song Remixed: Battle Theme Song Title: Time's Burden OC Remix Link to Song: Note: The song is 4:25 in length, so if you run into difficulties with the song's length from that link (I've had difficulties before), I've provided a mirror at: Also, for some reason, every time I upload an mp3, my IDv3 tags get edited, so I could use some help in that department. Also, you might notice that the title has been edited out in the second link thanks to tripod... sorry about that. Thanks and apologies, keep up the great work, -Kevin

  4. On headphones, this hum is really problematic for me. Arrangement's great, but I think it'd set a bad precedent to allow something with this noticeable a line hum to be posted, regardless of the arrangement. Especially with the great dynamic range involved, I found myself listening through the line hum to hear the playing at times. This might be salvagable with Bias Sound Soap or comparable mastering tools, if the ReMixer herself doesn't have the source files any more, but since sound fonts were used I'm assuming someone could take the MIDI, take the sound font, and render it for her, without the hum. It's too easy to fix, either way, and too problematic given the (at times) delicate nature of the playing. It honestly sounds prominent enough to make me think my headphone plug is loose or something, which it is not, and it's a shame because I think the arrangement will be enjoyed by many. Someone wanna take the lead on contacting the mixer? If re-rerendering the piece using the original MIDI/soundfont is out, then I'll personally take a stab at cleaning up the recording, if she's okay with that...
  5. Hi:) My name Robbie: (remixer name: akumajobelmont) I have a remix i'd to submit to your site. It's entitled 'The Devil Inside (Italo Disco Mix)' and it's a remix of 'Dracula's Castle' from Castlevania: SotN. It's an 80's inspired piece, and it's EXTREMELY reminiscent of classic 80's groups like New Order etc... I'm really happy with this song now. When i posted it up on VG mix, i was unsure whether other people would see what i saw in the song, and was hesitant in putting it up. However, i found out that it speaks to other people in the same way it speaks to me. With this track, i was originally going to have vocals in place of the familiar Drac's Castle melody... however... things like this can make or break a song, and such, i decided against them. The mixing style is, i'm sure you will agree, completely 80's. An era where the electronic music genre was finding it's feet, and i hope i've captured that imperfect feeling within this track. The structure is pure Italo Disco, which i'm not sure wether you guys might be familiar with, but it's a catchy style which uses repetition for effect... not laziness. It was, after all, and early form of dance music:) I have re-written parts of the melodies and added harmonies etc... I hope you guys will like this:) Here's the link to the track: It's just over 6 meg in size, but if (hopefully) you believe the song is up to your standards, then i can re-encode the file - if by chance you guys like it. Thank you for your time. Robbie
  6. Hello there, First off, sorry for my first submission. Didn't read the 6MB limit. This one's under that. Hope you like it Etenity for percussion ensemble From FF X-2 When I played Final Fantasy X-2 for the first time, I immediately fell in love with the opening tune. The urge to arrange the piece for my percussion group was so great that I arranged it within 2 days after buying the game. And here it is. Hope you like it Remixer name: TheNelis email: info@nielsvanderleest.com website: www.nielsvanderleest.com Kind regards, Niels van der Leest

I guess I got the first inspiration to this after listening to the Marble Dancefloor remix of Marble Madness, I'm quite pleased with it as far as my songs go. I'm not very experienced at usung programs so don't expect anything high tech (I used fruityloops 3). Enjoy!

I tried to show these themes in different perspectives, and tried to make this piece a little disturbing. This was done on 4 pianos, live performances on all lines. Cheers.

  14. Hey Djpretzel and Judges! It's my first submission to the site, I had some trouble with the ID3v2 tags, but I think I've done them fine (or at least most of it). Remixer Name: Red Tailed Fox Name of ReMix: Shinin n' The Ghetto Real Name: Caio Moraes Name of Game: Shining Force 3 Here is the link to the original (MIDI): http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sega/saturn/SF3Intro.mid And the link to the ReMix: Comments: This is a trip hop / hip hop arregment of the Intro Theme of Shining Force 3. It was suposed to sound like Portishead but it is much less moody then their work, coming closer to heavy hip hop songs... Shining Force 3 has always been my favorite RPG, and it never got the attention it deserved, as Squaresoft (ahem, Chrono Trigger... FF series) usually gets all the love. Anyway, hope you like it!
  15. Hello, I (Paragon) am still planning on reworking that Zelda 2 song that got rejected awhile back, but in the meantime, I'm still making mixes for the Dwelling of Duels compeition (dod.rock-out.net), and here's my latest. It's "A Wish" from Secret of Mana in sort of a soft rock style. It starts off with clean guitars, sparse percussion and a conservative arrangement that basically recreates the sad/desolate feel of the original song, but then moves into a more rockish style complete with a wah-guitar mini-solo at the end. This song was originally recorded in a different form (with an brooding metal ending) for a theatre class--as part of a group presentation on the play "Oleanna" I elected to present a song that 'represented how the main character feels throughout the play' over doing any actual work, haha. I named the song 'Iridescent Memories' because in a way it can be seen as representing the process by which one meager memory can remind you of something else that happened, of some else you knew, and before you know it all you can think about is a lost loved one, a missed opportunity, etc. . .the memories are shining brightly in your head, so iridescent that they force you to take notice of them. Actually, I chose the name because it sounded pretentious, artsy, and cool. But I had you going there for a sec, didn't I? Remixer name: Paragon email: jparagons@gmail.com Website: Paragon's NES tabs - http://www.geocities.com/jparagons/ Enjoy.
  16. Hi, I made made a remix of the Fear Factory Track from Donkey Country, and I would to submit it to your site. Contact Info: Remixer name: DJ Nova Real Name: Bart Bakker E-mail: no_va@hotmail.com Remix Info: Name of the game: Donkey Kong Country Name of song: Fear Factory Comments: Well, I like the DKC soundtrack a lot, and i wanted to do a remix, so I just kind of chose a song at random, and started remixing ^^. I got the basics down in like two days or so, but I spent about 2 months fiddling around with the effects/volume settings and so on. I also had to edit the beginning to stay under the 6 mb filesize limit, but I think it still flows nicely. Hope you enjoy it! Greetz, Bart Bakker.

  18. Hi OCR, Link to song: Download Here ReMixer: Harmony Real Name: Brandon Bush E-Mail: BLBush@hotmail.com ReMix Title: NightTime Evolution ReMixed Game: Secret of Mana Original Song: “Spirit of the Night” by Hiroki Kikuta I’m tossing my hat into the OC Remix arena with this remix of a great song from my favorite SNES game. Piano and guitar always do it for me and this mix has plenty to spare (with a piano sample that I love). I like knowing what equipment people are using so…this song was recorded with: - a Casio CTK-551 (the kind with the keys that light up…my Motif is still at the store) - Cakewalk Sonar 2, Fruity Loops 3, Cool Edit 2000 Pro - My trusty acoustic guitar I’m looking forward to some great feedback from the judges and, if my mix is posted, the OCR community also. Thanks and enjoy.
