  1. Not going to say that I don't like this, but this didn't do as much for me as I would have liked. Basic and simple electronic with a couple of effects that just didn't gel with me. There is a decent foundation, but in the end, I can't really say that I'm a fan of this one.
  2. Wow, this has a gorgeous soundscape gliding all over it and the title is fitting, as it's got an inspirational feel to it. It's one of those mixes that you can chill to, and for something from back in the early OCR years, this is pretty damn good. Nice.
  3. While I do have to agree with the judges that the vocals seem to get backgrounded behind the music quite a bit, that's about the only thing that bothers me, so it's no big deal. Lots of emotion behind the voice work and of course the guitar and percussion is well done. The panning was cool and overall I enjoyed this ReMix. Keep it up, Cyril.
  4. Impressive work from all of you! It's cool to see the performance in the video, and I love how they were able to go from Jenova to Birth of a God and back so seamlessly. Excellent arrangement with lots of groove indeed!
  5. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars is one of my favorite games, and Culex was the secret optional boss that was tougher than the actual final boss, which I enjoyed fighting. I took the name and varied it so that it could be both a homage to him and a combination of "Cruel" and "X" (for Mega Man X, my other favorite game at the time). One of those old names that stuck through the years. So, basically just Cruel X mashed up as a tribute to both Mega Man X and Culex.
  6. Ah, man, so smooth! With a jazzy piano piece like this, it's going to be hard to keep people from sliding all over the floor. I'm liking the uses of the vibraphone, which was amazing and perfect for this arrangement, as well the guitar and bass. Slick as hell, Nostalvania, I love this.
  7. Sometimes the best rock is straightforward guitar dominated rock with a fun melody. Great work on this arrangement, with sweet production to boot. Well done Ivan.
  8. I love this duo of Hylian Lemon and Phonetic Hero. The mix of great beats and chiptunes abound over a blend of different Mega Man themes makes for a good listening experience here. Compos bring out a great range of talent and tunes, so it's nice to see another one make it to the front page.
  9. Now this is a ReMix that takes the original intended emotion of a source and brings it to life. Being the sorrow theme for this RPG, starting it off with piano and sending it through the full orchestral course, and even giving it an epic, dramatic edge is awesome. The ending was nice as well, as a soft outro to an otherwise powerhouse of a track. Damn good debut, Yee.
  10. No reviews yet? Well, then let me be the one to get it started in here. This a great little jam that uses crunchy instruments, guitars and a good low-fi rhythm beat to make something nice. For an album that has shown to already have great songs on it, this is a welcomed addition to that list. Great track, man.
  11. After the shenanigans of the first of the month, I was actually hoping to dive into some more electronic mixes on the site. Awesome to see a dance ReMix with both FF4 and FF13 pop up just when I was in the mood for it. Sweet mix, Avaris.
  12. This is almost what it would be like if there was a hell version of an Aquatic Ambiance level. Just a rough, gritty water level that pushes the boundaries of fairness. While I agree with some of the booming being a bit too forward, it is a great example of giving a normally peaceful theme a darker edge, and I can totally roll with that. Interestingly, this really, really, really, makes me want to see what would happen if you took on Lockjaw's Saga in this style, where booming percussion and dark undertones prevail to begin with. In any event, good ReMix, man.
  13. This is a cool take on a theme that already seemed like a happy break from the hell you go through in the previous zone, and taking it one step further. Nice to hear the little cameos from green hill zone show up and all together, this sounds awesome. Good work, Rexy.
  14. I'm such a huge fan of Emunator's combinations of ambiance and house to make atmospheric ReMixes with a pulse and a beat. This is the kind of chill that I can relax with and enjoy. Just the right amount of energy for me. Solid work by Ergosonic for his guitar play as well. Excellent collab, guys. This is great.
  15. Hot damn, this is just magical! Jill's beautiful vocals once again show off raw talent and a range that is so much fun to hear, and I'm loving the video along with it. I like the idea of this being sung by Zelda in Hylian, which gives it a sense of life. I'd definitely look forward to seeing this performance live, especially with the orchestral arrangement behind it all making it that much better. Fantastic ReMix all around, loved it.
  16. A mix of chippy bits and sax in a jazzy soundscape? I'm all for it. It never becomes stale or stays in one spot for too long, getting more wild as time goes on. Though I'm more of a fan of the sections in which the sax and percussion seem to be more in sync, I don't mind when things break loose and it gets crazier. Not bad at all.
  17. The poppyness works for combining these two themes together and while a bit short, it seems to be the kind of pace and time it needed to be to allow this ReMix to cover both themes. Production was nicely done and it is certainly one of the better mixes from that compo.
  18. Thank you for the birthday wish! Have a wonderful day!

  19. Certainly very emotional, and the ending left me with sad feels, but musically, that's great. A gorgeous and powerful ReMix. The piano sounds sweet and the the mix seems to progress naturally. Very well done.
  20. Beth's vocals go along with the flow of this ReMix extremely well. Smooth and airy, while the guitar keeps the mix grounded and solid to tie it together. The reverb and tone of this mix does work for the sound that was attempted, and sounds great. Nice collab.
  21. I really like the chippyness going on all around the flute and guitar. Like mixing modern and retro together, which is cool. The production from you guys is on point and the arrangement, like I said, has a great blend of styles. Not bad at all.
  22. Pffthahaha! Oh that whistling into the monkey noises and back into the whistling! I just can't stop giggling over how happy this makes me feel! It's like the ultimate "back off, my day is sunshine and nothing can ruin it now!" song. I love the Me and Julio actually, so hearing a Mario take on it is magical. This is just begging to be used in a fun little animation. So good, guys, this is why I can't get enough of this site.
  23. Agreeing with the previous reviewers, the breathing sounds make this a more intimate and "alive" ReMix. You can almost feel like you are experiencing it like an up close concert by hearing him breath, which is cool. Excellent performance and arrangement.
  24. Oh god yes, Cello! Much like DJP, I absolute love the Cello and I think it's a gorgeous instrument capable of the most beautiful sounds. The video showing the music sheet going along with the playing is something I haven't seen before myself, so I truly enjoyed following along with that, even if I can't read music for anything. Kudos for that. As for the song, a trio of Cellos playing a good combined tune of the Inn and Town D's tune from Seventh Saga is a treat, and when it ended, I went into "Aww! More!" mode. It's not even a short ReMix, but it was so good that I could listen to it for hours, that's how much I love it. Congratulations on this album, AeroZ!
  25. I have always liked the town theme in Castlevania 2, and some jazzy piano is more than welcomed in these parts. Terrific slowdown section, I'm digging that the most in this amazing ReMix. Sounds like it could have ended there, but you went even further with it and kept going for well over another minute and put the exclamation point on it. That ending, man, damn! Well done, fella!
