  1. This ReMix is wonderful and definitely has an uplifting spirit about it. It is nice to see a ReMix with a message of a brighter future that isn't overly cheerful or cartoony. Just beautiful and on point. Gorgeous vocal work from Jillian and awesome musical chops from Zircon. You just can't get much better than that.
  2. Nice, man. This is some strong stuff, and the vocals go well with the music and the beat. A great job on those vocals for sure. The Deadmou5 flair is in there and makes things all the better. Agreed that it does sound like it's ready to go to radio with the vibe it gives off. Cool ReMix.
  3. Aaahhh, yeeeesssss!! Still Alive is one of my favorite game credits themes ever. At least in the top ten for me. And I haven't even had the pleasure of playing this game yet (I really need to get a PS3 some day). The fact that I didn't even really miss the lyrics, which helped the original, is a testament to how strongly I like this mix, because the melody filtered through the trance was still recognizable and enjoyable enough to get the same feeling I got from the original. Very well done, loved it.
  4. A Doors style Dark World ReMix with a perfect stormy picture being painted with the sounds of thunder and rain is a wonderful way to celebrate the milestone OCR has reached. Tremendous work, DJP, you've really hit this one out of the ballpark. So many great remixes and memories have come out of this community and I look forward to seeing what happens as we go for another round.
  5. Really cool ReMix here. The use of the SFX, especially the rain and opening everything up with the answering machine was great, and the melody blended together well with the gritty electronica going on. I really enjoyed this one. Opening did get a little loud, but it set up that insanity tone nicely and did it's job well enough, so overall, awesome stuff, man.
  6. I can definitely hear the FTL influence in this ReMix. Awesome stuff. I do agree that some sounds were a bit sharp, like some of those bells, and it does seem to trail off at the end, but other than that, an excellent piece of music and a wonderful take on Ice Valley.
  7. Deus Ex lends itself so well to just getting that immersive feel that ReMixers can capitalize on, and that is what Paul has done here. The electronic beat works with the melody so well and I enjoyed this quite a bit. When it hits midway and the computer voice starts talking and giving those mechanical lines, that was pretty cool as well. A great touch for sure. Good mix.
  8. I have such a stupid grin on my face from this. Perfect pub vibe with all the sounds included, awesome accordion and so ridiculous and fun that all I can say is that I absolutely love this. Well done!
  9. Man, musically, you can really feel this one. Lots of emotion just from the instrumentation alone. I can only imagine what it would be like if I knew the context and played the game like DS said. Still, amazing debut and wonderful ReMix.
  10. Gotta echo the others with the whole loud thing in a few areas, but other than that, sexy ass remix right here. Slick beat, a cool atmosphere and the perfect kind of vibe to just immerse yourself in. So good.
  11. Lots of energy in this, I love it. While I can see what the judges were saying about the mixing, I can still enjoy this piece wholeheartedly. The fake-ending was a nice touch. Great mix all around!
  12. I really loved the piano intro slowly building this mix up before it hits with the breakbeats and slight dnb progression beats. Really sets up a good fight theme for Punch-Out that you can visualize. Using the Get Up theme as a break from the main fight theme was great. A little dated, but not a bad take on one of my favorites.
  13. Okay, so for starters, I got a laugh out of this one for the randomness, so there is one positive here. Other than that, the production seemed a tad rough in several places (whether by age or design, either way), and while like I said, I got a laugh out of the voice clips (game over man!), but I can see how they can easily annoy folks. Not the best Mustin ever did by a long shot, but still good for humor and just easing up on things a bit.
  14. This is a pure background ReMix, which is great for having when doing other things and don't really want to have too much going on. I wasn't fond of the popping effects either, but this ReMix does what it sets out to do and I really can't fault it for that. Not my thing, but a decent listen for sure.
  15. Not bad. For it's time, this is a rather enjoyable little mix that seems to glide the edge of a smooth beat with some nice bass. A bit short, but I think it works for what you have here. Cool.
  16. In terms of music being done as artfully as possible, this is fantastic. This really would seem at home in a revision of Majora's Mask or even a polished up soundtrack. Wonderful arrangement and a great sound. Solid debut, man,
  17. Well, it gets the vibe of a tense battle down, that's for sure. I dig the organ and the arrangement itself. While there are some points where it gets a little too heavy, there isn't really anything that would turn me off of this mix. Nice.
  18. There does seem to be something about Sagat's stage that lends itself to this kind of jazz really well. It just fits like a glove. I never really cared for Sagat's theme in it's original form, so I safely say that I would be all for hearing this anytime instead. Very good. Loving the e-piano here, man. Well done.
  19. Gotta love the aggression used on this one. Heavy and hard, this is much better than I would have hoped for in a different take on the Unforgiven. Much better. Nice work indeed.
  20. Oh god yes.....this is absolutely amazing! My kind of dark ReMix right here! The evil choir, the bells, the creepy synth, and that scream! Damn, man, there is nothing about this ReMix I could complain about. Awesome work, Gario!
  21. Metal with some Eastern instruments and tones, nice! It really comes off unique and odd at several points (good for the most part), but I think this ReMix somehow pulls everything together to make a great track. I like this one, not bad at all. Great collab, fellas.
  22. I like how the game plan here wasn't "let's make this as fast and/or powerful as possible" as per usual with Chemical Plant mixes and has a long-drawn out progression to it. Not saying that anything else is bad at all (I actually like fast and powerful), but it's just refreshing to hear the details of the build to this one. I love the "just getting started!" voice clip. I feel like I know what that is from or have heard it before (I think), but damn it if I can't remember exactly where. I hate when that happens. Anyway, awesome mix, Jake. You've really done well here.
  23. Loving this light Green Hill ReMix which the little bit of fun stuck in all around it. This is the kind of arrangement I've been looking forward to, having heard things like Metal and Atmospheric ReMixes of Green Hill before. The violin really helps make this ReMix that much better to listen to. Great debut for Skolar and terrific work from both men indeed.
