Hey, DS's description of Mae's song sounds familiar. I think it was actually from a BEERmix contest.
-
I know. The response has me really excited, too. But I want everything organized before I jump the gun. I do want labels, and I know people here are more than able to provide. I've thought about bass/rhythmn sections, too. I swear (more) official thread will come soon. Just try to remain calm.

That's actually the whole concept of my OCR song pack. I already have on this PC the seperate guitar and song tracks for Hangarmageddon by EvilHorde from DSoP. Believe me, I want this song pack to be as professional as possible and not a slap-together job.

Heh, it's actually not a guy, but a cartoon show on the Cartoon Network. It's funny stuff.

I've haven't seen any Queen songs past Killer Queen from GH. You could try the FoF Spanish community at www.fofspain.com. Of course, it's harder to browse around when you don't know Spanish, but registering and finding the GHI/II packs aren't too hard to do. Also, this site has the largest collection of tape labels for FoF songs. There's still some GHI/II labels that are missing/crappy, so I'd like to see some of the Photoshoppers here fill in those blanks.

http://www.myspace.com/dethklok Why sit around for 20 minutes when Dethklok's Duncan Hills Coffee jingle does the same in a minute and a half?

I always mention this in an FoF thread: go to the mod section of the FoF forums and download RF-mod 2.0. It adds to the game: ~the ability to put songs into folders ~a pause feature ~multi-track support for Guitar Hero II songs ~a number of optimizations to make FoF run better and with less CPU usage ~themeable fret colors (change the fifth fret to orange if you want) The next version hopes to add things like career mode for GH/GHII, Hammer-on's/Pull-off's, and multiplayer. It makes the game so much better. As for the mentions of an OCR FoF pack: I'm still putting the idea together, but expect the official announcement/interest/song suggestion thread in the coming weeks. Until then, you posters just think about what you'd like to rock out to the most.

June 1st sounds way too early, considering we still know relatively next to nothing about the game, not to mention Nintendo's habit of constantly pushing back release dates. Then again, I could be wrong. You never know in the game industry.

The real consequences of blurring video games and real life..
Murmeli Walan replied to Steben's topic in General Discussion
My girlfriend and I say "blood and honor", "for the horde", and other WoW phrases to each other often. It really strengthens a relationship to look deeply into her beautiful eyes and tell her, "You had me at zug zug". -
I think I've gotten enough interest that I'll continue with the idea. Within the next few weeks, I'll create a formal interest and song suggestion thread. Then I'll take the suggestions and ask the remixers. When I have the song parts, I'll look for fretters and label artists. Then I'll throw it all together, look for a website designer, and ask djp about releasing it on OCR. I even came up with a name for the project: OverClocked Hero.

Too bad your list has A: songs by nobodies, and B: bands like ozzy, dethklok, hendrix and van halen who had better songs in Guitar Hero than in your selection. As for DragonForce, they're good, but why have their songs in the game when NOBODY will ever be able to friggin play them? It defeats the purpose. Don't worry, though. Neversoft's taking over the series, so you'll have plenty of great emo and skater punk music to play. ...just so you know, I'm not being serious, but damnit, don't trash my favorite game.

Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell Rock Opera FTW.

I've seen The Alternate Route by ParagonX9...for some reason, but that's about it (it wasn't even credited to him...sigh...). I've also seen Vampire Killer from Castlevania...not a remix, but the ORIGINAL NES TRACK. UGH. Not to mention neither of those songs had settings under Amazing. This needs to be changed, and I think an OCR FoF pack can do that.
-
That's the one. There is another project on the FoF forums right now to release a song pack as professionally done as possible (all difficulties, labels, previews, the whole nine yards), so I have the idea to do the same thing with OCReMixes. Think about it: we have, for the most part, direct access to the remixers. Instead of trying the best we can to drop out the guitar from the song for the background track, we can just get the clean guitar and song parts from the artists themselves. I already have such a solo guitar and song part for EvilHorde's Hangarmageddon, and I'm sure a lot of others would be happy to contribute.

Heh, I love how the discussion switched to Buckethead within three replies. I've been mulling around in my mind the idea of an OCR project for a PC GH-clone game that I play. It's just an idea, but I would absolutely include that remix in the setlist, with Game Over's permission.

The most they're telling us is 2007. My guess is the summer, but a more realistic guess would be the holiday season. Of course, we won't know more until the next big gaming trade show.
-
Yeah, except there were about 30 "Where's UnMod?" threads.
-
sorry, couldn't resist.

Miyamoto promised more content for 1-player, so I hope we'll see something good. I'm hopeful because SSBM's 1-player was such an improvement over the original. I'm expecting the same kind of improvement in the sequel.

Super Dodge Ball: Around the World - History
Murmeli Walan replied to Murmeli Walan's topic in Projects
...yeah, except for the whole "dodge ball" part of it. But anyway, the game is more related to RCR than you think. SDB is a heavily-localized version of the Japanese game Nekketsu High School Dodgeball Club, which is part of the famous Kunio-kun series. Renegade, Crash N' the Boys Street Challenge, and Nintendo World Cup are also Americanized games in the series. I'm a big fan. Can you tell? -
If someone asks you if you're a god YOU SAY YES! So, this is neat stuff. Let's hope Paramount's cool about this and lets this company go ahead with it.

Hey Straz, how've you been?

You missed it. That was last season. Wasn't as interesting as I thought it would be...

Pretty much anything Smash Bros-related is alright here.
