  1. Seconded big time. Get FFVII and Tactics together and you'll be set. ...until you hit FF10 and up. Then you'll be disappointed like the rest of us
  2. Just to make things even more confusing what are the chances that fallen characters can be brought in as guest characters for the people who survive the round? i.e. Your theme+ 1 Guest Character's Theme VS. Opponent's Theme? A guest character can only be used one time and must have been defeated in a previous round. A guest character cannot make up more than 30% (or whatever) of the total remix. A Guest Character's third condition. To be figured out. Maybe. Just to add a small twist to future rounds.
  3. I liked the instrumentation you went with. That pan flute fits with the Final Fantasy vibe. Though the intro is sort of weak compared to the rest of the remix which has a pretty solid groove. There are also a few things with humanization that could be addressed in the flute and the koto but it's easy to get obsessed with details like that. I'll have some better reviews up in the FF:CC thread at some point. Welcome to the forums! I think it's awesome that your first remix that you posted here is from probably one of the hardest competitions ever.
  4. Plenty taken. :) j/k. I ended up scrapping what I was working on all week and put that thing together in a few hours. The one I was going to sub became an unfocused mess that didn't sound like anything. The bass sounded panned because I accidentally had it on a stereo track. Oh, and like my DoD submission there was no production. :) But thanks for the vote!

  5. I used to love the sound tests on games in the 90's because I used to record vgm off of the tv that way using a crappy boombox mic and a tape recorder. 1. Streets of Rage 2 2. Earthworm Jim 2 3. Sonic 2 4. Greendog (sadly no 2 was ever made) 5. Road Rash (1&2)
  6. Just to clarify, voting will be done in pairs right with each pair having one elimination? Since we are whomping each other in this fashion I think a more Dissidia-esque storyline would work for this competition. i.e. Everyone is fighting each other, they can't figure out why. So, the only way they can hope to figure it out, is by fighting each other some more.
  7. Now taking Genre Requests for the Amarant and Barrett bromance that will be my remix. What do you guys want to hear?
  8. After one day I realized this is loads tougher than I thought it was going to be. I know I am going to have some 'splaining to do when it comes to my use of Barrett's theme. It won't be immediately recognizable!
  9. Could we get the names of the characters alongside the icons? I think Hollow has Barret but i'm not 100%. That would look foolish if I accidentally did this remix compo with... well. wait. I guess that is Barrett. 'cause who else would it be. Still. Names would help.
  10. Dreamcast 2 Genesis 2 Saturn 2.... anything at this point that would get them back on track and be SEGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
  11. Hey esperado! Sign up for Brandon's Final Fantasy remix competition! http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=45311&page=7

    OR ELSE!!

    :)

  12. Almost missed sign up for this. 1. FFIX Amarant 2. FFIX Freya 3. FFVII Red XIII *Sorry if this was answered already somewhere in the thread but since Zack didn't have a character theme in FFVII but was in the game is it ok if we use the theme written for him by Takeharu Ishimoto?
  13. Above average really? That unmixed POS?? Everyone below #40 you guys got robbed!! ...but i'll take it.
  14. Great playing. Of all the disney related game soundtracks on the genesis this one is probably my favorite track of all of them. The ending doesn't really work mostly because you go from high energy drums to nothing. If the drummer has that much energy during the song i doubt that person would suddenly just stop playing. Keep it strong to the end and your ending will work just fine. Other than that I think the upper mids across the track are too earsplitting as it's causing pain at even quiet volumes. Can't wait to hear the finished version!
  15. Was downloading source tunes off of a file sharing site in 2004. I think it was kazaa because Youtube didnt yet have stuff like that and there was no way of getting them if you didn't have the game itself. Downloaded this thinking it was a Streets of Rage source tune http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR00788/ Loved it and I noticed it had ocremix.org in the file name. Have to agree with dio. Kaleb's the man.
  16. 1964 jazz master? You may want to consider framing that guitar instead of playing it. What type of metal are you trying to do?
  17. Seconded about the competitions. They are a fantastic source of motivation and will help you set deadlines and get things completed.
