  1. Isn't it great to be an OCReMixer? \@/ Time for a nice TWAAAAANG

  2. YAY! Congrats GuitarFella! Smooth, but dancey, and stylish . I always love when these types of mixes come up, and this gives me da 'disco + RPG VGM' vibe. I wasn't too fond of the percussion, but to me it somehow works as a body part from the song. Now tell me, where's the guitar?
  3. Yesh, this is very, VERY solid... Damn, if everybody's saying that you seem to have learned things this fast, I wonder what kind of stuff you'll cook to OCR!
  4. Why aren't the candles penis-shaped too? I mean, uhr, happy birthday Rexy ^^'
  5. YES! \@/ I mean, awesome to know your project file's safe! I still love this *_* I'm not sure about the brass riff either... I wouldn't use it. But I think the pizza has great potential to fill things here, if used wisely.
  6. FL Studio 10, Miroslav Philharmonik and a few nice sf2 I found around ^^
  7. Up to next stage! I was asked to create a song with medieval influences, with the obligatory use of one typically medieval instrument (I was given a few examples, so I chose the bagpipe), a fixed duration of 2:00 with a +/-10sec tolerance, for a TV series called "Games of Bones" (yup, Bones). Here's the results: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?c995hg4nm275w35 Can you tell where my inspiration came from?
  8. Oh my, it's you! What happened to your other Touhou mix? I, uh... <3 ...this! Your percussion is specially amazing, and gives tons of energy to the song. There's plenty of strength in your arrangement, and my goodness what a bright sensation this carries. Your instruments are nice, but there's good and bad moments in the way you use them throughout: -0:10-30, it sounds more like a sitarish synth than a manually played dulcimer, as it is very sequenced. Flute's pretty cool . -I don't like the change of keys at 0:53 much... There's another 'synthy sequenced thingy' playing there. -1:03-1:13, lil' details on the background that makes this shine ! -1:13-1:55, now, the dulcimer's pretty convincing. This sections starts great, but then it repeats itself, which is bad . Maybe add something in the background to spice it up after the first time it plays? -1:56, another transition that could be better. Flute here sounds more artificial. In fact, most things sound unrealistic here, and it could use of some polish. Also, I like what the cello does at 2:06, but it does again at 2:28. -And, to me, the song could end after the (now good again) 2:43 flute note already. The rest feels somewhat awkward I really wanna see this on the frontpage once it's ready! PLZ!
  9. Why, me too. Despite my preference for more melodically oriented tracks.
  10. If you're working on a project, sent your mix to OCR and received an almost immediate letter (like, in 3 days) with the issues to be corrected, do you have to wait another three weeks period? Or, is the answer meant to be fast to let you finish things in time so you may send it again once you're ready?
  11. Happy birthday BGC! ^^ Y'know, this could be a thread about art with circles. -----
  12. Ah, now, things have more shape here \@/ I don't find it to be much conservative, now... I love the SFX section and the interpretation at 2:01-2:32. The main problem, I think, is that it starts to feel sparse at that mark. What comes afterwards is what the beginning has to show, with no more adds n' flourishes. Yeah, just 20% more, please!
  13. *falls* ROFLMAO *explodes* Starting from the start, I swear this made me laugh insanely through the whole song, I barely could listen to it during the first time it played. Love, love, love it!!!
  14. Wow You pretty much seem to know what you're doing here, don't cha? Btw I was expecting for this to become some type of hip-hop mix, based on how it starts (excellent drum work!)... Dunno, this has some hip-hop elements, but this style sounds quite unique for me. Maybe it's an astronaut that raps about how a broken heart is comparable to a supernova. Get those issues you've already addressed fixed, coz I'm totally looking forward to the finished thing
  15. Have some pretzel, chocolate and strawberry cake *_*
  16. Can you do an artistic Guifrog pose for me? *wink* *wink*
  17. If you can, adjust the timing of the guzheng (1:40-onwards)! Sometimes it's just a lil' disconnected with the overall rhythm. Also, 2:53-3:12, I think you could choose an arpeggio that's more firm and direct to the point. The way it is now, feels random and kinda clashes with the saw melody line. Nitpicky about what the kick does at 0:43-44. Dunno Yeah, ummm... anything else?
  18. Hey uh, that's REALLY promisinguh! Starting from 0:23, it makes me think of Bali music somehow. Keep it up!
  19. Quite late, but I find this to be quite cute In 2010, brazilian band Pato Fu released an album in which every song's played with toy instruments. They've also played them on their shows, and the results are pretty interesting, sometimes even funny. I dunno about other representatives of toy music, but what do you think? Would any of you create a ReMix like this?
  20. Hey dude, I <3 your Song of Ruin *_* 'bout ur Panic Puppet mix, I was very yummy crunch glub glub when it started, quite a tasty way of recreating the track's elements! Acid, chemical, electric. As it progressed, tho, I went swallows burp bleh; turned a tad insipid coz, apart from the differences, this sounds almost exactly like Jacques' track. Well, it's a WIP anyway, and I expect to see how you bring your seasonings to it! I know you're a good chef and can put your extra food in it to avoid repetitiveness, so I'm looking forward to your next comeback from the kitchen ^^
  21. I lived a somewhat different weekend recently. Went to a farm full of birds, cats, dogs, monkeys (!) and rats (which I hunted for and killed like, two of them). I played with children that I roughly knew, and had loads of fun with them. Ate and drank things that I'm not used to (like balm tea). Settled some personal stuff and it felt like, easier to smile after a long time. I tend to live musically, so every situation has some kind of song to fit in. If I could choose a song to the situation I was in, I'd definitely choose this one, as it evokes this simplistic, campestral, peaceful atmosphere
  22. My sister decided to make me a challenge: every month, she asks me to do a different type of music. I'm not sure exactly if there's other purposes besides training myself in this, but after I 'win' a challenge, she gives me a kinda prize - the last one was a zombie girl avatar This time, she had me do a theme for an adventure kind of game, a bit like Indiana Jones, in which the character hunts for a hidden treasure. She asked me to put aztec/mayan/inca influences to it, along with a restriction - the obligatory use of an oboe. Thought I'd share the results with you, as I haven't done something original for 2 years http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?un22x2k2qo2koci Hope u enjoy it
  23. Wubble, coming with a rumble! That's a sick arrangement you've got there, but what the EEEEEEEEEEE is that noise during the intro? I'd say it's a questionable way to start a song 0:59-1:01 and 1:04-1:06, I wasn't expecting for the notes to play in major. Are they intended to be like that? Anywayz, I really like the energy throughout this mix, but I think there's too much compression and reverb, which clashes with the dry synths you introduce at 1:19. Diggin' those glitching effects, btw
