IT IS!!! Can you believe that I felt honored of just registering to the forums, because the big names of OCR were online, just a few clicks far from me? I still remember of the first time I PM'd DarkeSword, and it felt like... "OMG I'm PMing HIM"! Even if just to ask for help on a submission. XP And once I got my first mix posted, you have no idea. Yeah, well, I do like the way I've arranged it too. Though, the judges had always made it clear for me that, in my mixes, arrangement's good, while production gives a lot to be desired. For example, this one had a really dry, badly EQ'd piano; in the chorus, the instruments seemed to compete for space, as a result of bad mixing; original bit was only about exposed bowed strings; piano and flute sequencing sounded too mechanical. I might probably do slight changes to the velocities on the piano too, as suggested by docnano. I'm looking for feedback on my actual mix anyway, and it would be great to know if I could leave my dear bouzouki-like sound in there ó_ò

Yummy Gummy Bear, this is so sandwichy! It sounds like everyone decided to divide tasks for preparing a delicious banquet. I can imagine the mixers running like crazy in the kitchen \@/ *bites* Hmm, it's nicely crispy! Just like, brass! *chews* Yumm, maybe the seasoning's too mixed to appreciate each of them. I can definitely feel the spice, though. *swallows* YA-HAY, THIS IS DELICIOUS! Oh, and I laughed at the ending XD

One year's passed. Time for thread revival! This thing was rejected, and now I'm re-working on it. Adjusted some mastering issues, spiced up the original bit, track sounds cleaner and percussion's less exposed. But I dunno if I've fixed things enough. Also, the judges said the bouzouki doesn't sound realistic, but the way it sounds kinda appeals to me, at least if seen as some type of synth. Hahay! Add to it: dreamy, happy, hopeful...(ly? o.O), fun...ly... penetratingly bubbly chipply stuffly thingly. Your track sounds like the alliteration of this! I'm not sure if I like the way this kinda effect takes over the whole mix. Good to have some breaks after the sections that use them a lot. I'd take it easy with that. Lead melody starting at 0:43 follows the pace by going left and right, which adds to the wubbly blobbly pace. I really like your arrangement, but the combination of gumbly roombly effects with the sometimes excessive amount of left-right playing bugs me somehow. Might not be a problem if used with some more ease, specially on the most chippy-crowded parts Otherwise, I dig the way you've worked on the percussion to keep the track alive, and those transitions are great! Things sound clean, well mixed, starts and ends smooth. Nice way of working the source, too - I dunno why the source repeats a pattern so much after its 1:02 ;P

Rickroll'd? XD Booroolumorolaralyireelerelaroluroom! Such an arpeggio makes me feel like a pixeled rainbow-colored snake that dances and jumps making an S wave that comes and goes, hohoho! Too much, in fact. Might be the lackz of vocal, so no crits for now. Insane 80's disco stuff

I'm talking about distortion 'noise'; its sound kinda 'shakes' even during silent bits of the song. I think that could be sorted out, but still I'm okay with it. Piccolo sounds nice, but sometimes the melody sounds out of place for me (specially those weird notes at 2:12-2:14!). Yea, let's wait anxiously for the judgment of the mods! \@/

Ooh-la-la!! What can I say? Didn't hear your previous WIPs, but as it is now, I'd easily mistake this for Strauss or anything like that (not an expert in names of classical music here, just sayin') ;P Sounds like there's distortion when glockenspiel plays, but still, it's brilliant! Add your piccolo or whatever, I'm schizophrenicly looking forward to this ^^

Yonko-ribbit-bongo, welcome to OCR! ¿Por qué siempre me gusta tanto cuando más personas sulamericanas aparecen aquí? I like your idea very much... May I say, there's a tendency of mine to also put sections with personal melodies in remixes. It's a risky way of designing your arrangement, but if you can manage to keep focus on the source and not to run away from a fixed direction of your track, there's great chances the dishes are done. If you're aiming for OCR, though, you may want to have an interpretation of the original track. I mean, before the surprise section (which is pumpy cool! Woohoo \@/), there's not much besides what you hear from the OST. An interpretation combines things like, new ways of writing the original composition, variations in notes and sequencing, blahblohblumbas, um... Okay, here, get the link! Don't let it fall ;D (see 4th topic) For now I'll give lil' tips: lead instruments (like the guitar) don't tend to be panned so much, they're mostly centered (even if slightly); remixed music, when instrumental, grabs more attention from the listener when there's differences between the first played chorus and the rest; think of your virtual instruments as if they were real - a sax, for example, doesn't squeak like that in 2:05-2:10 But y'know what, your remix is very well produced! Just thought it would be nice to give hints as you're newcomer, so I can give a push to your ear-polishing process "^^

Boo-hoo man I'll try to give some coins... Dunno if the judges said something about that, but the way you worked on the vocals here is also pretty bland. I really don't think they add much to your song; you've only got something during the intro (that sounds cool btw) and then a lil' bit in the middle, which makes things too sparse. I think it's odd for a live vocalist to only start the track with some melody and then go away for the orchestra to play Drumwork tastes vanilla. Put some strawberry n' chocolate in, will ya? There's parts where I can't feel the oomph of your kick, the tah of your snare, and even the tish of your cymbals (I can easily recognize FL Studio's crash sample there, coz it's very exposed in parts like 1:42-46). In fact, the whole song lacks energy, and even though it would be cool for a game of some kind (YAY BATTLETOADS), I guess the simplified exploration of your samples makes this arrangement not up to OCR's standards. Agreed with guitar complaints, get someone to play it for you or try better samples. I don't think cheesy vibe works here. Also agreed that there's mechanical, rigid sequencing. 2:19-3:10. Somewhat a lack of dynamics, and it gets boring after a time. Gives me the sensation that there was some kinda laziness in this bit, and the sequencing is like 'copy&paste' patterns. I find your Garfield mix to be SO good! Not sure how judges will react to the way you changed styles in there, but the quality of production and arrangement of that track is a lot more likely to fit OCR. My suggestion is to follow what you've done there based on these aspects (if that tells you anything ).

Yo again, sir! ^^ Say, what the @*? I'm here like, hawt! The way I'm enjoying this makes me want to keep crits outta the thread, coz it's such an excellent arrangement, with a great and varied texture, ready to rock out on the clubs! Though, I'm also enjoying to analyze mixes, so geehee... 8D I think you've incorporated the source well throughout. You've fixed a direction by using source's 0:26-43 and 1:10-26, and the other sections had a good interpretation. Intro's bland. You may want to give more attention to it, oregano it up, have some background arpeggio or melody to complement, dunno. Those (ultra)saws you've used seem to carry most of your arrangement's soundscape. There's times when they're a bit much (see 1:03-18 and 2:03-18 [whoa, that's a coincidence {may I add another kinda parenthesis just to sound silly?!}]). I see you also tried to give some chords by using the background saws at those sections, but man, take it easy . Try to have a substitute synth string for either of your saws that doesn't muddy up things so much. I'd give something else but those saws at the following parts: 0:34-48; and 1:19-47. In order to keep the track interesting, it's important not to overuse a synth just for it's coolness. I think you could also turn the high-end of this a lil' ant. From what I've heard from you so far, sounds like your strongest point's the ability to create dance oriented mixes. This one is no exception, so stay DJ-ing this until it's good for a sub ;D

Gotta compete with PrototypeRaptor's take on this theme with such a mix, ain't ya? XD Okay, y'know what? You've managed to finish this, sticked to a style, mixed things well on the most part, did a nice job on the arrangement, mastering, sequencing, and proved to have a very promising talent. Even if it's a bit old, it's good, man! Crits, tho. At first I was concerned if it was a personal taste thingy, but really, that distorted noise that first appears during 0:07-0:15 is pretty annoying and not easy on the ears at all. It's overexposed and dissonant from the rest of your track; I'd tell you to probably have another choice of sound, along with a better balance of levels. You've got very good ideas, though they start to get quite repetitive after I hit a certain moment of your track (2:00). In fact, before the section that comes at 1:15, I was already begging for something new, and that cool arpeggio turned out to be very welcome after the loud stuff that played earlier; but then, your harmony started to play the same thing as before, and the whole song turns out to have not enough dynamics. Yet your track's too much liberal, with very few bits from your source, as far as I can recognize. Give Chemical Plant some more love! 1:30-1:45 is probably the section I enjoy the most! It's electric, pumping, and a blast of energy! The upcoming break was a tad sudden, but serviceable (the rest of your transitions are SICK great). I think I can hear what seems to be some sort of guitar in the background? Anyways, it's not clear enough, and even for a break, things are kinda loud here. Specially that left-right phased decreasing saw, so bring it backward a bit. Finally, not a fan of the ending, or maybe by the way it came out. One suggestion is to gradatively take elements away as the song's walking to it. Whatever you wanna do, you need to prepare things for an end to come. Again, even with room for improvement, that's an awesome mix. I really hope for you to keep up with your work, befriends with your creativity and be patient with the execution of your ideas. Once you can manage to love anything that you've done that is up to conclusion, despite the time passed, I'll be checking for your name on the front page ^^

Oh wow I'm just not really fond of the ending, but in spite of the changing-style shape of this... Love it!

Yo blueberry. I don't normally follow you much, but I've been curious as to why you've started so many remixes and suddenly stopped working on them. It's like you love to create something new, but gets tired of it very fast. This one attempt seems to sum it up; are you never satisfied with one fixed direction? Sounds like three totally different songs

Yeah, it's celestial! I've always seen The Prelude as a song made in heaven, and this ReMix adds a new bright profusion of colors to it. So uplifting.

Actually, this is great! Does sound like menu music I think turning down the volume of the cool synth starting at 0:37 onwards (0:35-37's okay) is the only thing I'd do
