  8. I dropped my bass. Can you help me pick it up?? STEP BACK: http://theguitahheroe.bandcamp.com/album/step-back I've been really getting into the ear-gratingly horrible subgenres of electronica lately, especially dubstep. So consider this my tribute to a "Step Back" in musical advancement :DDDDDD In all seriousness though, if you're not a fan of loud, abrasive cacophony and substantial overcompression, I suggest leaving this thread now Of course, it's completely free. Hope you all enjoy....or at least try.
  9. Happy Birthday EMUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu !!!!

  11. Oops....it seems that I've posted a link to the same version by mistake, lolol.... Here's the UPDATED version that I meant to post before: http://www.box.com/s/7176vou986qqh7lq077n
  12. ....Is this even tech-house? I don't really even know But anyway... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3l7F7VcyI0 Let me know what you guys think! -TGH
  13. Thanks all you guys for the feedback I'm sorry if I came off as kind of a douche in my last post..but such wasn't the intent Anyway, after listening to a lot more Pendulum, I realized how much this attempt at their style just didn't cut it...lol. That being said, I did cave in and make an updated version...I added an extra synth in the midrange to thicken the "bass" a bit more, and resampled and EQ'd the snare a bit differently. Oh yeah, I also did brighten those hats a bit more I'm calling this finished now. And it's already been submitted. http://www.box.com/s/kepasuchvgj73hq2pmcl
  14. This is the type of style I was going for with this. The drums really set the groove for the mix, and thus varying them too much (they're actually more varied in my mix than they are in the Pendulum track) I feel would alienate rather than contribute to the track as a whole. I completely disagree with your statement about the samples holding the mix back. On the contrary, those percussion samples, I think, are some of the best I've ever come up with. And also I don't know about everybody else including you, but I can still hear the fills perfectly fine at :50 and throughout. It's not the 'traditional' style of DnB, it's supposed to be the more aggressive, 'newer' type. The snare does have a lot of 'oomph,' and that's characteristic of the specific genre I was going for.
  15. Actually I've updated it since I posted it. This is THE finished track, absolutely final.
  16. I'm at it again with more shit. http://www.box.com/s/7176vou986qqh7lq077n Sources: Great Canyon - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ty1fEqzQ2U and Sky Tower - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0lQfv3gz1Q This time trying DnB for the first time. I think it came out fairly well. And the only reason I'm marking it as 'finished' as opposed to 'work in progress' is because this is pretty much how it's going to sound. The only changes I will make from here on will be pretty much nitpicks. Enjoy!
  17. I'm at it again with moar shit music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oneo67IClYk ....this time featuring my own forsaken voice.
  18. This track is far louder than the stuff I normally produce...the idea was for it to be pretty much blaring loud and 'in your face, which is a style that I've come to really like listening to over time...it is compressed a lot as a result. It's weird, I tend to take more liberty in how I produce my originals than stuff I make with ocremix in mind (I would never have produced a track this loud if my goal was a mixpost). That's why I've been enjoying making originals lately as opposed to remixes; there's a lot more freedom in that respect (other than just arrangement requirements), and I enjoy experimenting with different ways to produce tracks. Thanks for the comment dude, I'm glad you like the track
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncpAVD_BoUo Honestly not sure whether to call this chipstep or just plain dubstep. Or whatever. But let me know what you think
