Hello again. I don't hear any problems with the reverb...could you give an example? Also, about the sound effect, it probably depends on the version of the game you want it from. I imagine it would be pretty easy to rip from the snes version, but it might be harder to get from the windows version. Maybe try this? http://www.zophar.net/utilities/rippers/snessor95.html Good luck!

finished Seiken Densetsu 3 Powell Remix

Sorry I can't really help with the technical stuff, but I think if you brought the volume up for both the bells and the percussion it could work better? -
finished Seiken Densetsu 3 Powell Remix

Huh, I don't know the source very well, but this is pretty nice. The only thing I really have to criticize is the volume levels in the second half of the song (specifically from 3:14 on). That whole section needs to be louder considering it really starts to get faster and more intense there. The melody that is being played in the background especially needs to be boosted (I can't even tell what instrument it is cause it's so soft!). The only other thing is that it ends far too suddenly. I generally dislike fadeouts, and this one just doesn't work at all; it feels like it just starts fading out in the middle of the track. Try coming up with a more creative ending! Other than that, this sounds great! -
finished Chrono Trigger Medley: House of Green

Nice! I'm not sure exactly what I can point out to make it better, but I definitely like it -
Okay, so this might be weird, but I like the new pluck bass a lot more than the synth now :S The synth sounds good in some places, but most of the time I think the pluck sounds a lot more natural, and the new pluck bass sounds quite good; much better than the old one. As for the beginning, it sounds great! The marimba is really nice! The only problem I have with it is that having the choir that low makes the intro seem a lot darker than the rest of the track; the way it cuts off suddenly when it gets into the main section sounds kind of unnatural. I'm thinking that bringing the choir up an octave might help, but I don't know if that would ruin the feeling you're going for. Finally, and this might just be personal preference, but I liked the drums from the previous version more than the new one. They seemed more powerful and less echo-y. I hope this helps! Edit: Btw, you work fast!

Haha, yeah I clicked on the link after I posted that XD But yeah tbh the tags are really crap right now...I'm glad it's being worked on, but the way it is right now it's more or less unusable

From what I understand, the lack of these kinds of tags is to encourage people to listen to a variety of remixes instead of just those from one genre. Although I think that this is important, I also think that the addition of these tags would be beneficial for exactly the same reasons as neophytegod, and that people might actually be able to find more remixes in this way. I'm sure there are plenty of mixes that I'm missing out on because I don't have the time to wade through all of the ones that I don't particularly like. I also don't think that having the tags would necessarily limit people to only 1 genre. With the addition of the tags, you might see a genre that you don't know very well and decide to give it a try, or you might just not realize that there are mixes on the site in a particular genre. Just some things to consider

Hello, This sounds really cool! I'm pretty terrible at recognizing sources, and I only listened to about a minute of them, but the transitions sound really good! I love 3:02, the drumwork and dubstep in that section is really slick. I definitely agree with ambinate about the sampled instruments, although my only real issue is with the bass. My suggestion would be to use a synth bass instead of a sampled one, although if you want it to sound like a real instrument it's going to need some work. Other than that, great job!

finished Vampire Killer A Capella (Castlevania)
Magnetic Ether replied to blazerh44's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
This is really cool, I was wondering why there are no acapella remixes on this site... Basically I agree with DarkSim for the critique though. It would be nice if you could expand on this! -

In the credits there are two actors for him: One for 12 year old Xavier and one for 24 year old Xavier. -
My attempt at humanizing...

Haha...Too bad my entire piece relies on the flute like,90% of the time XD. Ideally I'll find someone who can actually play, so I guess I'll just stop worrying about it for now. -
My attempt at humanizing...

I see what you mean...I changed the attack to be less percussive and it does sound better...I originally had a very fast attack so that the fast notes wouldn't sound muddled, but it sounds okay now. -
My attempt at humanizing...
Magnetic Ether replied to Magnetic Ether's topic in Music Composition & Production
Haha, yeah if I could get my hands on a flute and learn to play one that would be great XD -
This is my first attempt to make something I've written sound more human...It's only 19 seconds, but I want to know if I'm doing it right...The source is Earth Painting from Legend of Mana. If someone could tell me what I'm doing right/wrong I would really appreciate it Normal: Humanized:

I want to increase the remix size limit...

What if the mixes were hosted on another site...the 128kbps version would be on OCR with a link to the higher quality version? -
Does anyone else think this would be incredible?

I was wondering this yesterday. Turns out reaper has a vst included with it called schwa humanizer. The velocity randomization is really good, although the timing randomizer didn't seem to do much (maybe I just couldn't tell). There's also this, although I haven't tried it, so I can't recommend it... I too would like to know if there are any tips for humanizing a piece manually. It would be nice to know if there are any guidelines, because I don't really know how much variation is too much or too little.
