  1. Really enjoy this version! If you're wanting to submit to OCR in the (hopefully near) future, you should probably set it as "Mod Review" so that a moderator can give you feedback so that it can be OCR-ready.
  2. Specifically, I mean songs that are originally non-VGM tunes but still pertain to game systems (e.g. the Wii Shop theme remix that's part of the newest SSB4 update). Are these remixable for OCR, or not?
  3. over the top Android developer wannabe projects != kickstarter-funded games Of course, if you have people who are bad at budgeting in charge of funding, then you might fail, especially if you don't set aside an "emergency" fund, just in case something goes wrong. On a project of this caliber, with people who have professionally produced games before, I highly doubt that needs to be a concern.
  4. Personally I think we need more involvement from the OCR community in this. Come on guys (and gals), it's a venture in composing! Why would you NOT join in?
  5. Meteo, that basically came off as "I'm not racist, but..." That being said, Meteo is spot on, there are plenty of people here who are already looking for projects to join in on. Here on OCR, the field is supersaturated with potential talent and not enough projects to go around. Of course, I can see why you made this thread, as an advertising billboard for anyone who's looking on OCR for composers. However, in the past, the amount of people seeking out composers on OCR has been fairly slim, so I can't say how useful your post will be in attracting potential employers. tl;dr you placed the right billboard in the wrong neighborhood.
  6. I didn't hear anything sticking out with the erhu (unless you refer to the section with quick, successive key changes), but the mordents, to me at least, felt a bit excessive at times (although at others it worked just fine). Maybe I'm just being a picky person.
  7. Got my new machine from Brad Saturday morning, and it wouldn't boot. Called him today and after an hour or so, we figured out that the RAM had become unseated and caused all sorts of mayhem when it attempted to boot. Now it's up and running and working like a charm! Thanks Brad!
  8. Does IPB have a field for explaining a reason for editing a post like vBulletin did? It's really arbitrary but I was just looking for it just now, and sometimes it's just what you need to help clarify. Even if it's just to type in "just 'cuz" as the reason for editing. Although "I needed to explain a thing" is also fun to use.
  9. Ok, so I'm participating in the Summoner of Sounds event, and the first theme is "lighthearted". I don't quite think that my first sketch met that criteria, because it's more of a battle theme. . You can listen to my first attempt here (.wav file). The final update can be heard here. Thoughts? Concerns? Comments?
  10. On a side note, did the parts arrive that fast? Wow.
  11. I'm debating signing up or not, considering my history of being unable to complete something for past events.
  12. Why did I not find this earlier?! Kudos, Connor. Kudos. stop crying stop crying why won't you stop crying
  13. Well, I haven't had this problem since PRC 282, but my DAW refuses to work with the project file—if I try to make any changes or additions, then the program force closes. The next usable backup is such a large rollback that I can't get anything finished for this round. With the deadline in less than two hours and no word from WillRock yet, I'm going to have to throw in the towel. Again. Man, I need a new computer.
  14. Updated Kontakt so I could give this a go. I really like the instrument, but I can't seem to get any velocity changes out of it; the only thing that really changes dynamic is the sequencer, and sometimes that's not optimal to use for volume's sake. Other than that, it's a very nice and unique instrument.
  15. I suppose if you really wanted to, you could make a case about anything that uses the andalusian cadence (Diatonic Phrygian Tetrachord?), but that's a bit of a stretch. At that point, that's like saying anyone who uses a I-IV-V-I progression is copying someone else who also used the I-IV-V-I progression.
  16. Well, "Sunday" was an underestimate it seems. Wow, this only leaves us, what. Four Days? Alright, let's get this going.
  17. Whoa, status feeds. What is this, OverClocked FaceBook?

  18. Oh my god I forgot about that game. And I even own it! Thanks to reasons, I won't be able to start anything until maybe Sunday,v which is going to put will and I behind.
  19. To the contrary, the snare roll sounds really good. I definitely like the change from tom to snare.
  20. This looks intriguing. This is definitely different from most compo events on OCR because this requires you to compose rather than ReMix. I might give it a go sometime soon.
  21. I have no idea what I'm doing with these, although that's more because I have no idea how to begin to handle sound design. Only thing I managed to do in F2FM was make a really shitty sounding ePiano. Hey, at least it's something. As for how they feel, they're good at what they were made for. Again, I just wish I knew what I was doing so I could actually create something with your VSTs!
  22. I get it that Mixcraft isn't the most popular option, but come on!! It doesn't actually bother me anymore. It used to, but hey, it's whatever.
