  1. oh yeah, what supx said. i didn't mean to say "make it latin mofo herp derp" but no worries, you know what works best for you. and wth is this? i thought i was a lizzurd? i'm so confused. i feel like my entire week has been a lie. *edits sig*
  2. cool, sounds good. that moment when you start making music while dancing in your chair.
  3. also, last question superiorx. everybody and their grandmothers keep saying "yo dawg i'm at 4:37" and stuff like that. is their a minimum time limit? because i prolly won't throw in filler solo wanking.
  4. k, signed in just to help you out a bit syllix (and anyone who needs arranging tips). i still haven't even started because irl stuff, but i know precisely what i'm going to do because i've thought about it long enough and i feel like our sources work incredibly well together. production isn't my niche, but i can rearrange ideas somewhat decently once i pick up a few cues from the original source(s). not to give away what approach i'm going to take, usually i go through this kind of mental checklist: melody: does the melody sound lyrical, as in would it work to twist it up with vocals? does the phrasing sound like it would be delicious on a particular instrument? (for example, imo many megaman melodies naturally sound like they were designed for guitars) rhythm: is there any implied rhythm pattern that i could work with? the thing that immediately stood out for me with our mixes (and i'm pretty sure you posted about this earlier) is that they both have an underlying latin groove (yours specifically with the conga stuff, and mine with the bass line groove). it really doesn't matter, but if you can hear hints of a specific genre it's good to use that as a starting point. (ex., again megaman tracks often give an obvious genre nod with their rhythms) chord progressions: dude... if you're not a theory buff who can instantly recognize when a few chord patterns go together i recommend transposing the songs and time stretching them to the same key/tempo so you can analyze the parts where it sounds like the chords from source A would lead nicely into source B (dunno, i did this a lot when i was growing up and it helped me at the time). again, not giving away too many hints as to what i'm going to do, but you'll be surprised just how similar our tracks are (and besides, you'll realize that a TON of sonic songs utilize the same chord progression patterns and stuff. ) i hope it helps you finalize your ideas! peace
  5. :lmassoff: that title fits way too well.

    can't wait dawg!

    peace

  6. ah, i forgot about that chip tune rule.

lmao, i feel ya. well if/whenever you come around to tweaking it i look forward to hearing it again in all it's glory. and you're keeping the fart right? :

  7. dude, i was totally grooving to your mix man! it was really good, and that ending surely impregnated several women.

i went with briggs because i have an unnatural four-on-the-floor fetish, but you should think about submitting your mix because it's really high class and all the breaks and tempo changes were slick.

  8. and brandon, as long as it's the scale of love that's all you need.
  9. i know that feel bro.... or are you just trying to trick me into thinking that you're not good at electro so you can throw everybody off guard and then proceed to musically obliterate me? regardless, good luck to you homie. i look forward to hearing everybody's sonic goodness.
  10. ok, thanks. no but for real, mine is pretty much secretively secreting secretary secrets. they don't hand out secret weapons like this to just anybody.
  11. EDIT: http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02258/ this artist's soundcloud has amazing solo keyboard stuff (in my opinion). start listening to Doc Nano religiously. or somewhat. from the top of my head these people have slick, high-class piano-only remixes on a project, posted, or at least hosted somewhere on the web (ex., youtube, soundcloud, etc.): -rexy -schnabubula -emunator pretty sure there's much more, those are just some that come to mind quickly.
  12. cool, i will probably have you a rough idea of what i'm thinking in mid-summer (when everybody's free[er]) because i'm most likely going to form a crime fighting syndicate collaboration with several other artists as well... somewhat

  13. question, superiorx: like everybody else, i'm also using a secret weapon/bonus remixer so do i just use the tagging system similar to what akumadigi did? Sir Jordanius feat. *secret weapon* - *fancy title* (Sunset Park & Launch Base)? if it makes you feel any better, i'm working extra hours this week so i probably won't get started either until much later this week also. oh yeah, and you do know that you're not supposed to play it with your penisecret weapon, right?
  14. yeah, i'm not a computer noob but i definitely have no idea what you're all talking about i'll totally be checking out your sig links to be more informed for my future endeavors. thanks again so much for the suggestions everybody. as of now i've unfortunately lost about 120 GB of files, but the new drive is 3TB so that give me room to make up for it. peace jordan
  15. inb4 overclocked remix is renamed the guitah hero and friends. phat beats as usual, juicy synths as expected, and greedy disgusting bass lines once again. you the man, dawg.
  16. thanks again everyone for the feedback. i'm not patient enough to order online so i picked up the WD caviar and an enclosure at my local electronics store. oddly, they didn't have anything other than Toshiba, WD, Seagate, and i think Sony. no LaCie, though. i know, but i wanted to at least get a general consensus on a few trusted brands. if seagate keeps you rolling that's awesome, but i'm going to keep my distance for quite some time. yeah, i explained my situation to the clerk there and he also suggested RAID. i never heard of that term, his explanation went over my head, and wikipedia's not helping, so you think you can pm me the gist of what "RAID" is in layman's terms? (you could post it here too if you want, but my issue has been resolved so i didn't want to veer offtopic)
  17. oh, sorry for blowing off your question. i'm still jamming to some of the tracks. i dunno what darkesword or superiorx will say, but i think it'd be good idea to not change your vote more than thrice for obvious reasons. but i know what you mean, a lot of em were really close. i personally just voted for the tracks that made me bob my head harder or start drooling from having my jaw dropped for so long.
  18. just stopping by to pay my respects

that Trash FM song is divine, dawg. so greedy man.

  19. what in the?!..... i started listening to the tracks... GGGGGGOOOOOOOOTTTT DAAAAAAAAAAYYYYUUUUM. you all are some greedy mofos. so many sick nasty grooves. OOOOOOOHHH SHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIYYYIIITTTTT.... benjamin mothafuckin briggs fucking murdered the dance floor yo. sorry for posting incoherently and with capslock rage, but these kids are blowing my mind with these beats, man. good job to everyone, yo. man, i'm glad i've been keeping quiet instead of trash talking. good god, mr. briggs you can father ma babies mane, just throwing it out there.
  20. :lmassoff:oh man, now i'm totally going to remember this anytime i think of seagate. yeah, i also had an extremely trustworthy WD external for a Mac a while back but i donated it to a relative who needed it more (at the time), and to my knowledge it's still kicking. thanks so much for all the suggestions, i think i'm 98% sold on the enclosure idea. SymbiotiX, do you by any chance know where I could find that information about lacie and WD? because right now i'm focused on these three: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822154349 http://www.lacie.com/us/products/product.htm?id=10517 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284 but if it's true that lacie utilizes some WD components, then i'm going to go ahead with WD.
  21. thanks, i'll try to get one of those this weekend. and just for my own judgement, would you strongly recommend that over something like western digital or toshiba?
  22. this thing is killing me and it currently has most of my files on it so I'm looking to buy a truly "reliable" external hard drive as soon as possible. so can anybody please recommend me some good brands other than failgate? preferably under $300 USD. i've browsed google but there's a bunch of conflicting camps so i'm hoping some of the computer pros here could nudge me in the right direction.
  23. what's your vocal range? i think i may may may may may may may may muh muhmuhmuh might need your help with vocals for something in the near future.
