  3. believe me, i don't want that to happen. i'm just saying that in the entire finale it seemed like Asami's only purpose was to go BAAAWWWww about Mako. and i really liked her character when she was introduced, but it just seems so obvious that she's going to do something drastic next season.

    well, one of em is more in line with the dark, theatrical prog rock kind of thing, and the other one sounds like a blaxploitation montage sequence track. so, yeeeeah.

  8. yeah, i take my word back. that finale was intense and very satisfying. though i don't really see what they'll come up with for Season 2 other than having Asami possibly go over to the dark side. the rift in that triangle is way too big right now.
  9. my bad for the late reply, was mad busy babysitting and working extra hours. i'ma say the same disclaimer i gave in another thread, feel free to pimpslap these suggestions out of your face. in the end, it's your mix and some of my suggestions are probably just nitpicking. some suggestions: 1) panning my immediate thoughts from listening to this was picturing one of those cliche B-film abandoned warehouse horror chase scenes (yeah, i know, it's the title of the darn song). if you listen to just the sfx and music during those scenes you can hear a bunch of sporadic, intense panning (knocking over a trashcan in the Left side, the pursuer clangs against some echo-ey pipes on the Right side, etc). i can't explain this with proper text so i'll just do it with drummer onomatopoeia lingo. during some of the heavy poly-rhythmic patterns you could play around with the panning on some of the accents of the left and right side. (and of course, center and various surround panning) ex., 0:16 through 0:24 would come across as doomadooma kah! doomadoo cha! badoom chikkah!! doomadooma brahhtt! doomadoom cha! badoom chikkah! dooma brakka chakka biddibowmuh dooma cha, etc. pretty much play around with the panning A LOT. don't just have it panned somewhere and leave it like there for the whole song, it may just be my preference but for a song style like this it wouldn't hurt to be sporadic and even a little relentless with the panning of some percussion parts and blips. 2) breakdown/growth dude, i'm digging the sound right now but it feels so much like the music is begging to grow or become even more intense and aggressive later on in the song, especially at that groove break around 0:30 through 0:36. the most obvious routes would be breaking it down into either "metal" or "dubstep" or something like that, but it would be icing to keep this "chase scene" feel and maybe have it shift/break into an industrial, dark, mangled aphex twin kind of vibe (but still keeping that doomadooma cha groove to it). dunno if that makes sense, i'll try to find an OCR example later if this isn't making any sense. long story short, the music is good now but it feels like it has a bunch of room to expand and be even more aggressive later on in the second half of the song. 3) melody yeah, this is a more rhythmic kind of song, and heeeeell no i'm not suggesting that you slap a wanking synth lead on top of it, but that organ just comes across as a backing sound, and even the bass could use more juice later on in the song (like explained above). just experiment with adding some even thicker, abrasive sounds later on that basically say "yyyyeeah this is the melody." there's so many ways you could bring this melody out whether it be making the main riff juicier (think "Muse" or typical main riffs) or adding some more meat and "oomph" to the bass line and percussion.yeah, that's pretty much all i can think of for now. pretty solid mix as is, but there's so many routes you could take to expand it even more. i hope at least some of rambling helps a bit.

  11. gotta give it down for Katamari music. THPS has some pretty good playlists (since they're technically not OSTs) depending on your mood. i've never tried Minecraft, but i've only heard several good things about the music.
  12. yo, concerning contacting me outside of OCR, texting me is usually the quickest way (with email being close behind it). would this method work for you or something else like Facebook? as long as it's something i can check on my lame, old grandpa flip-phone then we're all good!

  13. the best way for me has got to be texting my cellphone, and i get free texting so it's all good. but wed-sunday i usually reply to or receive messages quite a bit late since i work nights during those days.

  15. once i get back from work tomorrow morning i'll post my thoughts, but for now daaaayyum man that is some juicy percussion you've got going on. 0:32 through 0:36 has a sick groove to it. i like it, you should bring that quarter note hihat back (or that entire drum pattern) later on in the song, but yeah i'll have more collected thoughts for tomorrow.
  16. i clicked to make sure, then i saw "emery monzerol" up in the left and i thought to myself "aaaaaaw yyyeeeah, it's this guy." you should bring the clap out more around the second half of the song since it's being drowned by the pad. yeah, imo the pad is the main concern because it's ball hogging like mad crazy. knowing you and your intense synths and melodies i'm sure that getting the pad out of the way will make the overall sound much better. nice percussion at 1:47, dunno how much longer you plan to make the mix but i think you should bring that percussion back at 2:33 or much later (in case you're adding more breaks and stuff). and +1 for jazz jackrabbit music
  17. what is this "#ocrwip?" it has a hash tag so i'm keeping my distance first to make sure it's not tumbler-affiliated.
  18. as long as it's just 2 solid hits, then it's intended. but if it's still spazzing out with 3+ delayed hits then i'll have to check what's going on between rendering and converting. if you download it it's supposed to be that the hit jumps rhythmically back into the song, directly on beat. dude, thanks so much for the kind, positive comments but you're stroking my ego too much dawg! trust me, it's a sad planet to live on whenever i go kanye mode. so, if nobody else is going to chime in with critiques i'm going to have to assume that i've either made something really really good, or i've made something really really crappy.

  22. alright, fixed the ending snare thing. it was the converter. added an immediate, updated preview link in the OP. if you mean "offbeat" as in not on the "on/downbeat," then thanks that's exactly what i was going for! Mord Fustang does that a lot and i tried to emulate that spastic sound so i hope it came out right. but if you mean "offbeat" as in reality-television-popstar-singing-competition offbeat then... back to the lab again.
