the client only saves that string localally though I'm sure. It would mean hacker was IN HIS HOUSE?? OH MY GOD!
-
woah, was there need for tripple post? Anywho at this point im pretty disapointed, I talked to the accused, again claims of hacking and everything. I don't know. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt Either way, it bothers me if there is a hacker why they would come to OUR server specfic, know our commands, and dump these items in the accused's storage room Again, TRYING NOT TO BE TIN FOIL HAT HERE. But uh.. *sigh I just want to have fun playing minecraft lol Chest protection does sound good at this point, will probably be implementing it soon, ridiculous we have to though One more theft though and no more temp bans. Its well established we do not like thevery, and after this fiasco to happen again would be nonsense. Probably no new people on the white list for at least a month either. This is getting ridiculous
-
What are you talking about now? Nobody has mentioned you in this new case. I know who the new person is. Its not you. You can play if you want, once unbanned (probably just a week anyways), just please as mentioned, do not take things out of chests that arent yours, or aren't marked "Community" from now on, unless someone says you can. Thats all If you don't want to play because of that, well I'm sorry. I trust you wont do it again honestly. I don't think lowly of you, like uh most of your friends apparently do Also blame Brushfire. I do.

Well, I was hoping to NOT be able to figure out this one and just give Lemon his stuff and pretend nothing happened, but someone did this AFTER I installed a new plugin to tell me whos done what, JUST a few days ago Its kinda hard for me to swallow this new story, i mean, yesterday, someone hacked [new unnamed accused]'s account to specifically take Lemon's stuff? ... really? I'm not trying to be tinfoil hat here, but come on. I'll probably be installing a chest protection mod. Its sad this has to be done. We were all having fun times

The whole reason we have a vouching process is to avoid issues. If you all seem to know that epicenter "is a moron" and" can't play video games" and" has no common sense" it would of been nice to have a heads up! Either way most of this as mentioned seems to be a pile of miscommunication on every bodies part. We will try not to let issues like this happen though again some communication to the admins would help. Gman is self admited "not good with people" but unless angry is very easy to talk to. Me I get stubborn but I hope that doesn't detour people from communicating with me. A lot of yelling and heated conversations later now I have a better understanding of the situation As mentioned earlier we welcome anybody to the server who isnt there to cause issues and we all like to have fun and enjoy this broken yet addicting game

I've added /rules to the list of commands and to the MOTD Also HalcyonSpirit: MM 1.04 has apparently now been updated, so feel free to test it

geohotz is simply on a (previously planned before this fiasco) vacation. A lot of people are spreading this as "hes fled the country" because it sounds sensational. And probably beause Sony wants it to sound that way. Not the truth Heres some better quotes: Also, I highly doubt that account is his. People have pointed out the geotag on the image posted in this thread by some RANDOM guy Sony is using as 'evidence' , belongs to somewhere in Cambridge, MA. And I dont think his claim to fame is unlocking random dumbphones. Edit: More quotes:

Epicenter: I'm not convinced you AREN'T Brushfire Edit: I would like to think, overall, there is not any intention here of any wrong doing and we've all lost our way in the situation Ban will definitely not be perm, heck may not even last the week In the future, to avoid headaches, something like this should be alerted to an admin so we can just use my handy /give command to undo the damage. We are fun people, honest! But, just to be clear for everybody, as I will state in the rules sheet I will make here soon: No Stealing. No Walking 10,000 Blocks in a single direction making a ridiculous "arm" No Forest Fires No Greifing No Brushfires

Cyril: Once Gman gets upset, everybody gets destroyed in her rage :/ But she is not the only one running the server. In fact her admin duties have been fairly light. The server once transfered to us, was setup, operated, and maintained by myself (and well, MPUK). Her duties are to look after things while I am at work and uh... host TNT parties. And maybe make the website look prettier than my barebones design but she has yet to do that Not to say she isn't my equal because thats not true, and I would be murdered if I suggested as such She is taking a break anyway, she just got caught up in the moment Most of her anger is misdirected at this situation at being mad at me for paying too much attention to the server anyways And now me paying attention to this situation has caused her more anger at me and everybody else. Sorry to drag everybody into this. I apologize for the situation that I've inadvertently caused Mad we saw through your scheme? Well, congratulations on a job well done. Also, being lowly uncool people outside of the OCAD crew, we do not know the real names of people on the server/OCR, it would be nice instead if you refered to usernames. =P
-
Cyril: Gman is a bit upset about the whole situation. She doesn't control anger very well. Thats why I'm here! I dont want you or anybody on OCAD to feel unwelcome. We are however, worried if a group of people are going to ignore us and only listen to Brushfire if thats whats going on here. I dont think it is though, still a concern. Its something we've worried about since the entire OCAD crew moved over, and we were hoping we were worrying for no reason We still might be. This might be an isolated incident, probably being blown out of proportion by misinformation or miscommunication.

Not what I was told. Im getting a lot of conflicting stories from various sources. Not sure if I trust any of them. Dont trust you for sure But something is wrong. Ban sticks for now, and I'll be creating a specific rule sheet to clarify things
-
Well apparently we have a little more information: Apparently Brushfire has been telling people its okay to steal from structures that people haven't played in a while. Only thing is: Brush doesn't know who hasn't played in a while because he barely plays on our server. So I have no idea who hes told its okay to steal from. This is not our rule, but one Brush has fabricated. DO NOT STEAL. Period. It doesn't matter if the person hasn't logged in in a year, when they get back, their stuff should be there. I don't know if this was some rule that was on when Fireslash was the host (i doubt it), but if it was never given to me, and im sure just a fabrication of Brushfire's. Just don't steal. I give people what they want half the time, especially donators. and we have community chests. Do Not Steal. Thank you

Zero Punctuation (Hilarious) Game Reviews
Crowbar Man replied to sephfire's topic in General Discussion
I find it odd he thinks just because the graphics were "2D" (they aren't really) the SNES could handle it... the backgrounds have really nice artwork and combine with polygonal cloth patches and vector-like uh yarn graphics. No way SNES could handle that. The game's graphics are praised by pretty much everybody, its about the only thing good about the game IMO. But the lack of the ability to die, or use hardly any special powers in the game really makes it a kinda snore fest. Coop is also completely useless compared to other Kirby titles -
Alright Gman is letting her anger at me and the situation get a little out of hand. I would like to comfirm with epicenter and maybe other ocad members that these are the truth to the events I find three things wrong here overall: Why would one walk into a giant elaborate castle open an iron door and take stuff out of chests "by accident"? It sounds like at least some of ocad knew about this and just decided not to inform anybody I believe epic was on when aba was reporting the theft yet said nothing If brush is saying the truth I do want to thank him for being honest and saving me the hastle of trying to figure out this puzzle. Im a litttle disapointed in the whole situation and will have to discuss matters with gman when I come home The items aren't a big deal but I don't like the fact it seems things are being hidden from us. Especially since we usually go out of our way to make sure everybody is having fun

Retro City Rampage Remix Contest - Remix virt's Theme Song
Crowbar Man replied to freakydna's topic in General Discussion
You guys went way beyond the call of duty here providing even a .MID Whoever was too lazy to learn what an IT file is should be thanking the Retro City Rampage Remix crew as much as they can And if not, I will: Thank you, brave knights of Retro Rampage Remix Edit: Also should thank Mazedude for his earlier .MID post. ... how would one remix videogame music in the first place than? Games generally don't come with sheet music. -
Its sign commands specifically, I'll see if i can narrow down what/why

I've installed MultiVerse on the server. We can now have multiple worlds and types. I created a portal to Nether in front of my tower (/warp ToNether to get there), it leads into a world of Nether Theres a portal back to the regular world ("world2") of course Since only I can personally set up the portals, this works way better

Violent Game law to Kill Call of Duty?
Crowbar Man replied to Overflow's topic in General Discussion
Maybe "center screen - shoot" is all there is in Multiplayer, but a lot of FPS have a single player component with a story, missions and what not, and some have puzzle elements (especially Half Life series). Even in multiplayer, you have to sort out a strategy in some of the better ones. Especially if you get team / CTF / mission involvement. I haven't played Call of Duty or Battlefield so i have no idea if these games have any more than "Shoot", but I know there are games like Team Fortress, Enemy Territory, Tribes, etc where theres a little more than just "shoot things" going on. I do agree the FPS genre as a whole is rather bland, but there are some diamonds in the rough. There needs to be more FP RPG/Adventure games though like Oblivion, Fallout 3, Bioshock, Portal, Amnesia, etc. -

Violent Game law to Kill Call of Duty?
Crowbar Man replied to Overflow's topic in General Discussion
As stated by neblix, Portal 1 was rated T. It had some small ammount of blood, and very dark humor. I'm kinda of put off by the fact Portal 2 is E. Either ESRB has lightened up, or Valve has ruined this game too much (I dont like what i've seen so far) -
I hate this song. Also: http://www.8bc.org/music/niceandgames/%22Friday%22+-+Rebecca+Black+%28TI-99+4A+vocal+version%29/
