  1. From my own experience, I've learned that it is always good to warm up before recording. It's a very basic thing, I know, but you'd be surprised how often people will forget. Another thing I learned from my voice acting, is that it is good to, how do I put this, loosen up the jaw to get ride of as much saliva as possible. What this does is it gets ride of that *smacking* sound that can happen when your singing. Green apples are another great tool to help remove that smacking sound. These are just a few small tricks that I have learned over the years.
  2. Ah, I see. Well, did I have you work on something else for the project or do you have something in mind, or would you like a suggestion?
  3. A thought occurred to me while I was working on the song description: This album project is called Tears of the Moon, as a reference to the first item in the trading side quest: the Moon Tear. I'm wondering if we should make mention of the trading side quest in the musical or not? Do we make the extra effort to include it or not? What are all your thoughts on this? Please comment.
  4. Starting to get submissions for album art, here are link to the few we got so far: (Pirate Cove) (3rd Day) Reminder for lyric writers to have their WIP's by July 7th.
  5. Orangedragan and I have been hard at work on the song descriptions and if you haven't checked them out yet, please do. Still more work to do on the first CD but we've made good progress: http://tearsofthemoon.wikispaces.com/Song+Descriptions The Song Descriptions are an ever changing thing. I'll work on it little by little everyday, so be sure to check it out every once in a while to see new updates!
  6. Tom, when do you want to meet about lyrics again?

  7. Just a reminder to people working on lyrics that the rough WIPs are due July 7th. Be sure to contact me and let me know which lyrics you are working on.
  8. pop flitter, check! Recording space is a hard one. I don't have too many places around the house that are suitable recording places. Any of the places that might be good, don't have any place for me to place my equipment on. I'll need to figure something out.
  9. This is going to have instruments as well. We are recruiting composers, remixers, lyricists, singers, and anyone else interested in the project.
  10. I, like everyone here, am a lover of music. Unfortunately I've never gotten around to learning to play any instruments, except one: vocal. I've been singing for longer than I can remember and I want to get the most out of my voice and share it with everyone across the world. I'm looking for any tips and tricks for recording vocals. I've got a Samson C01U USB Studio Condenser microphone. I have GarageBand '08 version 4.1.2 and Audacity at my disposal. I try to get the best recording environment possible and I mostly try to work with what I have, being that I'm a Digital Arts Animation/Illustration major, money is a hard thing to come by. Please, any tips and/or trick in vocal recording I would be very grateful.
  11. When the time comes that we get to the Boss battles, I've come up with a new idea on how to handle those parts. I've already suggested the idea of combining the temple theme music for each temple with the Boss Battle music. Each temple could also us the signature instruments of the area they are in (example: Woodfall Temple would use horn instruments, Snowhead drums, Great Bay Guitar, and Stone Tower operatic choir). This is the idea that I have for the lyrics: The point of view would be from an outside party telling the trails that Link has to go through with each temple. A good example of this can be seen in the Fates from Disney's Hercules. The OCR band Game Over is another example of this style of lyrics writing. What would be a neat idea would to have each temple song be performed by a different band here on the site. A Ska style band for Woodfall Temple. A kind of hip/hop style artist could cover Snowhead Temple. A rock band for Great Bay Temple. And a operatic style band/artist for Stone Tower Temple. This, of course, is just an idea and if anyone has any idea's or suggestions please comment.
  12. We are but for now we are focusing on writing the lyrics before we get into serious vocal auditions. Can't sing if you don't have lyrics. We'd be glad to have you aboard. What type of singer are you?
  13. I received the first official WIP recently and it sounds amazing! It is a beautiful piano cover of the event when Tatl remembers the good times she and her brother Tael spent with the Skull Kid. I will ask the composer if he would be willing to have the everyone listen to his WIP. Everyone else keep up the good work and contact me with any Lyrics. A reminder to everyone that we are first working on the Clock Town section of the game, so start writing lyrics for that.
  14. I would like to take a shot at this. When would you need the audition by, because I want to record a sample for you.
  15. Any particular style of folk singing? Irish folk singing or a different style?
  16. Thank you for your interest. If your free in the future, the door is always open:wink:
  17. Look on the wiki for the Song descriptions of the first CD http://tearsofthemoon.wikispaces.com/Song+Descriptions
  18. For now, focus on writing lyrics on the first CD (start of the game till after Link transforms back to human). Just pick a song or if you want any suggestions, could you do something for the Clock Town theme?
  19. Check the first post for news and information on the projects structure. We are going to tackle this beast one CD at a time, so first we'll tackle Clock Town.
  20. I can not stress enough the importance of checking in. Not only does it assure me that you are still alive, but it also lets me know that you are still interested in this project. I don't expect people to check in every day, but I NEED to know what people are working on. I'm going to be setting deadlines on the first post soon, so be sure to check that out and please check in.
  21. I sent you a private message a couple of days ago and was wondering if you got it.
