  1. I almost wish this hadn't been accepted, so I could record a better version of it, especially now that I've got better equipment (and a better ear for good tone). I also have a version that incorporates the final Bowser fight theme from the same game. Can't use it now, though ...

You might be able to request that the current version be replaced.

Either way though, you should post the updated version here.

  2. For those in the states, Target has the game on sale this week for $40.

Other than that, there's also a STEAM option of getting 4 copies of L4D for $149.99, which is $37.50 a person. I think this forum might be a good place to facilitate a transaction like this if people are interested.

I'm up for it. $40 is usually my spending threshold when it comes to games.

  3. Can't imagine what Expert would be like on a console. I would tear my hair out just trying to aim at something.

From what I can tell, you move *much* faster in the console version. I don't know if that helps with survival, but it's something that surprised me.

  4. Updated the map list in the first post. I recommend people downloading all of these maps and putting them in the map folder, as some of them are quite large.

In addition, what was the consensus on pl_strider? I never got to try it out

It's mostly a novelty map IMO. It's pretty weighted towards the strider's team (don't remember if that's RED or BLU)...even if you wipe out all the human players, the strider can usually take out the attackers by itself with its laser and sentry attacks.

The map itself is not interesting to fight on at all (I think it was ripped directly from HL2), and there's not enough ammo.

Btw, does anyone want map changes to be based off of rounds completed or by time?

I'd be up for changing it to 3-4 rounds completed. Although how does it handle 2fort? I don't want 2-hour-long stalemates...

  5. There was an issue just after I logged a few minutes ago with the map cp_lazytown not being on the file mirror. It is there now.

Also, since Insomniac essentially said tonight that we're not getting a fixed version of cp_downtown from him, and decompiling maps is a hit or miss process, I propose removing it from the rotation.

I'm okay with this...as long as you replace it with arena_2fort. :)

  6. It's really nice if your graphics card can handle it, as tearing can get really distracting. And L4D actually supports triple-buffering, so your framerate doesn't automatically get cut in half when you go below 60fps.

  7. Also if you're comfortable with a little overclocking, you can get ATItool and let it tune your graphics card for an hour or two. The chances of damaging anything are extremely slim, and it would give you a slight boost until you get a new card.

  8. Yeah that's all me. The only thing Sixto did on the mix was a dinky little piano intro.

I have XHTML and some JS experience, and I would definitely open for doing this, as I no longer do JS code modifications for message boards. What would you need done?

EVERYTHING lol. Got any sample sites you've worked on?
