  3. You got some wild feedback from Nutritious and Larry!

  4. Thanks mane I really appreciate it :-)

  5. Holy shit your trailer dude, holy shit

  6. I think the ultimate conclusion here is that women should be given a choice to play as a woman in games. Like in the Mass Effect series. I don't think the damsel in distress trope is inherently bad, because as has been stated you can have that even with a female main character (like in Mirror's Edge). And if you could choose to play as a female and still have a female be kidnapped, would it still be the same issue? The issue is not that there's a woman being kidnapped so much as that she is being rescued by a man. Everyone has their moments of weakness, even men, and anyone can be kidnapped or attacked, that much is undeniable. I think the one real thing that the gaming industry CAN DO is allow people to play as women. It wouldn't even require much change to stories, though it's good that certain things like Dragon's Lair and Double Dragon (with the panties) are not really made any longer and should continue to fall into obscurity unless it's some kind of satirical spoof. It should be a matter of skill rather than sex, Faith is a skilled runner/fighter and her sister is not.
  7. Everyone becomes Bill Maher vs. Piers Morgan in these types of threads, as long as we all continue to maintain a mutual respect and civility it's no biggie. Everyone has raised a lot of valid points, and although we may not all agree, the views and opinions (and the individuals who shared them) deserve some respect. Just saying... this isn't directed at anyone.. !
  8. As someone who didn't enter, if you need someone unbiased (who also happens to be on the album somehow) to cast some votes JUST TO HELP and get some extra insight in there, I'd be honored. Having said that, I look forward to hearing the winning non-techno entry.
  9. DAMN SON!!! You had a 4th Spawn? What did you name it? Congratulations! Hey, no biggie. I think avaris might be waiting for it before finishing the song, but we still have a good handful of songs waiting.

    Mazel tov!

  10. Yeah, the way he killed Hermes is totally rapey too! See, how hermes crawls away weakly, and then has his legs chopped off! Not because he runs fast, but to objectify him sexually! This argument could be made. Just look at it. It's also offensive to fish, look how he picks Hermes up by the fin!
  11. As someone who has actually played God of War from the first game and is familiar with the character, no.
  12. Did you judge cap avaris's song yet? :-D

  13. You're alone on the rape fantasy stuff, and wow dude. It's amazing to see what kind of crazy stuff people come up with that isn't actually there.
  14. You guys probably posted 4 additional pages that are impossible to keep up with since I peeped the thread on my phone while waking up, but... The "Bros before Hos" thing on God of War, because Kratos wails on a woman the game is actually less sexist than other games. If Kratos is an equal opportunity pummeler, then it can hardly be said that the game is giving anyone special treatment. It's refreshing to see a female evil villain get what's coming. Same thing happened in Dante's Infero. Not to mention, that the female villains in that GoW clip, are quite clearly stronger than Kratos at the time. GoW clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3L2de3ucLg But yeah, "Bros before Hos" is a childish title for the achievement. I mean literally, people were saying that when I was like 7. Then again, it's a bit dumb to get up in arms over too. Next people will be complaining because someone said a girl in a game has cooties.
  15. This has become the anti-God of War thread. While we're on the topic, Dante's Inferno is amazing. It gets a pass on the DiD thing because it's based on an ancient work of timeless historic art.
  16. I kid mane I will listen haha just not right now I'm watchin a show and eating a burrito

  17. FF6 on the GBA is the superior port though. Can't be hating on it just because it's not on the DS, isn't the DS backwards compatible with GBA? I have no idea.
  18. NEVER!!!!!!!!!!! I will set off ALL of the powder kegs!

  19. Never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. I believe you mean semitics. If the thread has evolved into woman's rights and similar sexism-based topics, rather than the particularly narrow topic of the DiD trope in video games (which was the original topic in case anyone forgot!) then I don't think that is a problem, it's still in the same basic radius of the acceptable topic. (as the guy who made the thread I expected it to evolve this way)
  21. Can you clarify how I was off topic? Edit: Every refresh adds 10 posts, I give up
  22. I dunno, I did ask a woman why she didn't work in a steel mill, and here was the conversation: Me: Hey, have you ever considered working in a steel mill? Woman: Haha no Me: Any particular reason? I'm just curious! Woman: Not my cup of tea Me: Too dangerous, or? Woman: Not into that type of work . Why do you ask? Me: I was just curious! It's interesting to me. Were you ever interested in working at, maybe, a coal plant or mine? Maybe in construction? Woman: No way. I'm not into physical jobs that would require me to become dirty. I would be the person who held the stop sign at construction. But I would never do construction
  23. Let's all become stay at home husbands and teachers and send our wives out to work in construction plants, steel mills, etc... only then will we truly have equality! Ask a woman you know "Have you ever considered working in a Steel mill?" and post their answer here... I might try this... hmm
  24. Hey, if you don't mind me asking... what were your crits on 'Gone' (Sonic Colors)?

  25. That's racist. I heard Nicolas Cage is going to be the star of Expendables 3, as the villain. I never watched the Expendables series because I thought it objectified men and sexualized them, but if that is true I will DEFINITELY be seeing this one.
