  1. I saw a good foreign film once.. and some B-movies are ok in a funny way
  2. Wait, you guys named the album and it is not "The Album that Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain"? Seems like an oversight
  3. It looks great but I know Larry is going to edit it because it doesn't say "An OverClocked ReMix Album" on the front
  4. Muy bien, I love the back cover. Seems like people don't go for minimalism anymore but it's sooooo soo so nice
  5. Have you talked with DJP about the website? He has really been a huge help in the past with project sites for me As for my song it is done, and timaeus has his grubby paws on it.. I spent a lot of time doing EQ but I'm still not all too sure that it's clean enough, but given the circumstances and the fact that music sounds different on every headset, I'm alright with it going out -- good bass presence and very warm. Which is weird, because when I exported it, I was sure the highs were too strong and the bass was weak. That's music for ya. It sounds great on the AKG Q701s at least I'm sorry the song took so long
  6. For all my mixes I used a refurbished gateway with 2.5ghz processor and 4GB (later upgraded to 8GB) RAM. All the power of having multiple tracks is from the ASIO drivers for the Saffire Pro (upgraded from an Alesis io26 which is poo) If you're gonna record live audio don't make the same mistake I did and have a computer fan louder than a lawn mower. I'll be upgrading some day
  7. Would it be too weird to just put his name under the title as a subtitle? "Heart of a Gamer: Satoru Iwata"
  8. I'll double master it so by the time you master it, it'll have a solid triple mastering which should make it much more mastered
  9. For years I've been annoyed by albums that put "album" or "project" in their title. We know it's an album. Once it's an album it's no longer a project. Also I trust Larry on titling shit, guy knows his stuff. Kinda bored of putting "Tribute" in titles too. Just such an overused word to the point that it loses its meaning. I like Darned's suggestion of "Remembering Satoru Iwata" but like I said, I also trust Larry, and ultimately it's not my call, and my own hangups about language are my own problem. I need to finish the song tomorrow
  10. I stand by what I said before, Dearly Beloved and if you'd have me for 2, Simple and Clean I still think you should take the Disney songs off the list though, it'd be a shame of Disney caught wind and was against their property being remixed/released even for free Plus, if you stuck to the original themes of the game, it'd make it much easier to manage and smaller
  11. I couldn't tell if that article was satire or serious, but maybe I just don't "get it". As for why I play female characters, i just find them more interesting, especially if you're going to be building a story-based, possibly emotional attachment to the protagonist for 20 hours..... Or ok, 1600 hours. We've been playing as the male lead since forever. Woman actors are great, sometimes better, and it changes the game in an interesting way. You don't rely on the crutch of "pretend I'm the guy and I don't want to die", instead you enjoy the character's own identity and possibly get more immersed in their story or origins. Dragon Quest Heroes does a really good job by having 2 lead characters, and I find the female lead Aurora to be a lot more engaging than the male lead. She wants to fight while the dude wants to hold back and think of a strategy first. Tsk. I mean, it's a great change of personality from what we'd usually get from jrpgs. And yes, I find women better to look at than men, but that's just my opinion. Maybe that all makes me sexist? That I'd prefer to hear the script from a woman's voice. I dunno. Maybe it all just goes back to when I beat Barbie on the NES as a kid while other people were playing Castlevania
  12. I'm a man, but I always play games as a female character, because most of the times it is an option. (Examples Destiny, Dragon Quest Heroes, Warframe, Fallout 4{yup I went there}, Assassins Creed Syndicate, etc)... To me this proves that the apocalyptic anti-female scenario in gaming is a bit exaggerated, but then I see articles like this: http://www.starwipe.com/article/cara-delevingne-kicks-ass-call-duty-trailer-its-ab-1073
  13. Chern of bogues, you gotta truncate the tracklist down to (1) key tracks, and (2) remove all copyrighted / music not made specifically for the game! We could all remix Under the Sea, or This Is Halloween, but that's not allowed on OCR
  14. Consider me surprised beyond belief. It IS questionable, and I doubt there's a public record I could check to confirm the status... but that's one HELL of a loophole: "...and largely serves as an educational resource to encourage critical media literacy and provide resources for media makers to improve their works of fiction." ...since when.. I wonder what charitable work the company does, or maybe the requirements to get 501c3 are a lot more loose than I thought. And... no, I'm not really interested in arguing about stuff that has been known for the last couple years in regards to "who doxxed who" and "who profited from what". Not because I'm against anyone changing my opinion, but because I prefer to deal with non-debatable facts. I made an assumption about the 501c3 status of FemFreq and I got corrected about that. But things such as Brianna Wu doxxing herself on 8chan, and alleged self-victimization on twitter was more public knowledge and easily documentable by anyone. Posting the link to the news about the book deal and the Hollywood movie was just backing up a post I made in this thread over a year ago.
  15. My progress is just that I need to record guitars but I'm not sure what flavor. I wanted to have clean electric in there but I think acoustic guitar would have to be the rhythms, even though I thought clean elec might be good I'm off tomorrow and want to get it all wrapped up. Work has been a B-word. Only 1 day free per week now. As a side note I don't think that Iwata quote should be on the cover. It resulted in a good title, but after he passed that is the 1 quote that was repeated ad nauseous by every news site, gaming company, developer, etc.. It's sad his career got truncated to 1 convenient quote by hundreds of people; of course it's your call and I mean no offense if you keep it but the man is legendary there's probably other quotes or even no quote would work well
  16. Holy shit there's still people who believe this wasn't all for profit and that there were victims. And people straight-face lying then right after saying "stop spouting crap". Is this real life? I guess we'll find out in the new Hollywood movie starring Scarlet Johansen. Just to add a non-profit is usually a charitable organization receiving donations in order to... For example... Give clothes to kids, teach them to read, etc etc. it's not something you can just say that you are. Especially if your business already exists, it may be difficult or impossible to get legal 501c3 status and the licenses. Probably would include an audit of all financial details. And that's if any of these "businesses" got past the first phase, which is to have a positive effect on society. Just saying you're non-profit doesn't make you non-profit. People tend to forget that. It's a legal status, not a self-imposed title. I would be surprised beyond belief if Quinn or femfreq had non-profit status. Furthermore, without that legal non-profit status, there is 0% reason to believe pockets aren't being lined with cash, especially since at least Zoe was/is using a personal PayPal account instead of a business dedicated one. But that's all really rather irrelevant because they're making a Hollywood movie.
  17. RE: on opportunists who relish attention being thinly veiled victim blaming See: the book and movie Also very much of the accusations were fabricated, see: Brianna Wu, who posted her own information on 8chan then claimed to have been doxxed. To blame a victim there must be a victim. All I see is profit!
  18. I don't think there were ever sides. It's always been about the money. Only took a year to turn it into a book deal and a Hollywood movie.
  19. If I may make a side statement. The way we subscribe to threads now is a lot less intuitive and helpful than it used to be. The reason I don't reply to many threads that I have talked in is because I just can't find them. User CP used to be so spot on. I don't want to complain because I very strongly support the upgrading of the forum, I just miss how convenient it used to be. And I wouldn't be surprised if that caused a lot less conversation going on.
  20. http://m.ign.com/articles/2015/11/07/zoe-quinn-memoir-crash-override-how-to-save-the-internet-from-itself-to-be-made-into-a-movie And that's the waaaay the news goes
  21. http://nichegamer.com/2015/11/nobuo-uematsu-is-not-working-on-the-final-fantasy-vii-remake/ On the 1 hand, they can easily take the source music and orchestrate it with live orchestras, etc -- we've seen Distant Worlds On the OTHER hand, and what I think would be a lot more interesting, is a whole new score -- the more the merrier? Two brilliant soundtracks for Final Fantasy VII? Will it live up to the demand?
  22. Nice stuff! It does sound just a little bit dated, mostly in the drums, and the slight muddiness (which is probably mostly the fault of the amp sims), but it also reminds me a bit of the "glory days" of DoD. Some people are still living those glory days over there. This arrangement is pretty sweet though, and it also shows the potential you have for arrangements and production -- a lot of chops going on here, of the killer studio variety. Not a particular fan of the drum sounds, mostly the snare, reminds me a lot of Addictive Drums. After 2 minutes in there's many cool structural shifts to the mix. I'm excited to see what kind of metal you do in the future (or currently?) and how your production abilities have changed since the creation of this mix.
  23. Very nice work Tuberz! I don't know why it took you this long to get a solo post, but this is definitely a first post to be very proud of very good stuff.
